I personally disapprove, I think it corrupts the anime and is offensive to the original creators of Death Note.
I don't want to think of Mello & Matt or Light & L in that way ... ever ... eek
Imagine you wrote a popular anime or manga and suddenly there was all this yaoi of it all over the internet. How would you feel? stare

personally im okay with it. i dont like all of it, i just dont hate on it. there are some shipping that make sense. but others i dont understand. besides it a personal opinion and just cuz you dont like it doesnt mean others dont.

I gotta approve. Even though I don't read yaoi (or even yuri) I know a lot of yaoi fan girls. People have there own tastes and fetishes, The only one I ever disproved of is lolicon and shotacon.

How would you feel? stare I would feel flattered that someone likes my characters enough to write fanfiction and draw fanart of them. If the couple was utterly ridiculous, I would just find it amusing. I wouldn't be offended by it at all. If you are offended at the idea of people portraying your characters in ways you didn't intend, then keep your characters to yourself. I like some Death Note yaoi. I certainly don't see L and Light having a relationship in the context of the show, but that doesn't mean that the fanfics and fanart aren't sexy.

Well I am glad to be a yaoi fanboy who likes the idea and aesthetics of pairing two male characters together rather than some deluded fangirl who thinks that she pretty much "owns" a fictional character.
