If students were expecting a large spectacular finale at the very end of their journey, they were to be highly disappointed. There was barely enough room for even a few students to stand next to teach other, the ceiling dangled uncomfortably close to the tallest students' heads, and beyond the glowing hum of the portal, it was dark. Everything was dark.
BANGWHIRRRRRRRRR
And in that oblique darkness, something was screaming furiously, it sounded strange, mechanical, and growing louder by the second. The next happened in such a quick blur, in a moment of absolute chaos.
- "MOVE YOU STUPID KIDS-"
-" You have got to be kidding-"
-" GET OUT OF THE WAY-"
The last screech echoed through the invisible depths of this unknown area. The whirring sound came closer, drowning out the rest of the screams as an edge of not one but three ten-foot long blades descended from the ceiling.
-" I SAID, MOVE YOU RETARDED KIDS-"CRASHIt was too late. The blades buried deep into the ground, right into the center of the chaos. Impaled students and student pieces jutted out from the sides of the blades. The fallen students didn't even have a chance to scream.
What handful that still stood were suddenly assaulted by two familiar figures:
Their forms emitted a thick black substance - escaping particles of Fear.
"Ugh ugh ugh-" The taller of the two suddenly shuddered, clutching her own dissipating arm. "Next time listen to us, really listen to us got it, yeah?"
Both of them plunged into the darkness, the sound of their footsteps quickly fading. ((OOC: - ALL SURVIVING STUDENTS ROLL A 6-sided dice. IF you roll a 1 OR a 6, you are out. Your student was an unfortunate victim to the blades. You can post their reactions before death then move to here - All REMAINING students, follow the two figures! Who knows what other traps are waiting for you if you don't. Feel free to rp posting their reactions, but do not linger in the same spot for too long. ))

What was that they'd told her about hope?
As soon as Riley made it through the portal, she froze. She heard the whir of metal grinding, coming closer, but she couldn't see. It wasn't natural for her, darkness.
Neither was a blade slicing directly through her body from head to toe, leaving a crisp, cold feeling as it sliced her clean through and failed to stop there.
Riley slid her hands down her front, feeling where her body was now severed in two. The warmth of her blood began seeping through the cut in rivulets that ran down her length.
But she couldn't feel any pain.
She turned slightly to look back at the portal, even as she felt the blade leave her body. The world was moving in slow motion, but there was some part of her that realized - only half of her was turning.
Her hand reached out, trying to stop the vision she saw coming from the portal. She saw them, saw them both, but all she could do was raise her bloodied hand.
It was too late, and Riley had been proven right one last time. Hope was for fools.
Her eyes finally dulled to black, as half of her body tumbled to the floor. She felt nothing, and yet some last synapse in her brain impulsed with the knowledge that she felt them both. Their hands. In her own. Jericho, and Malodore, holding her hand even now.
Both halves exploded into FEAR particles a few moments after her two friends fell on top of her..

Malodore landed on the other side of the portal in... blackness. Total darkness. It blinked, stepping forward very slowly, hooves clacking on the floor as it moved. It smelled like... rust. Sea salt.
Blood.
Sound soon overwhelmed every other sense; disoriented, the plague doctor stood still for a moment before moving forward again, this time reaching out into the darkness, claws spread. "Riley?" it called out, its voice pitched higher than usual as panic started threading through its mind. "Jeri-"
It tripped over something soft - and, really, it was entirely unfair. The undead had so much less biomass to hit than anything else. As it hit the ground, it was briefly aware of something warm and damp beneath it, and then... a sudden stab of white-hot pain in its gut. Its head cracked hard against the ground. Distantly, it felt something break, and one claw convulsed around familiar fingers-
-Riley-
And then there was nothing.

The moment Jericho stepped through the portal, he found the area practically pitch black. There was the sound of something mechanical in the area, and he heard their guides shouting at them to get moving.
The heavy scent of blood hit his nose as he tried to see where Riley and Malodore was. Just as he heard the doctor call out a part of his name, he suddenly felt lighter and off balance... followed by an immense pain all along his side. His right wing, arm, and a part of his leg had been completely sheared off in an instant.
Eyes widened from shock, he fell to the ground, feeling two forms under him. Though the pain was intense, he couldn't scream. He could hardly move anything for that matter.. but he managed to weakly move his remaining hand, feeling a set of claws and some fleshier fingers beneathe before he drew his final breath. A moment later, all three forms disintigrated into nothing but FEAR.

Why were things moving so fast? Junko wasn't being given time to react to much of anything, suddenly finding herself...in a lighthouse? Wait! Riley! And..and so many people! Junko actually smiled, tears welling up in her eyes as she'd tried to get to her friend. Riley! She was okay! Her friends were alright! Sure, the weird guy over there was being crazy but..Riley! And Malodore! "Riley! Riley! Over he--RILEYLOOKOUT!" Junko shrieked a moment too late, watching as a blade came down and sliced right through her friend like a knife through air, leaving only a thin red line down her entire body from head to toe.
Oh Jack...o..oh..oh Jack no...
She caught a glimpse of...of half of her turning. Only half. To Malodore and Jericho. Only half. The other fell, and Junko felt absolutely sick to her stomach. A hand flew to her mouth and the other wrapped around her stomach, feeling what little was in her stomach threaten to lurch up. Oh Jack. Riley...wh-why? Why did they have to-- NO! MALODORE! Junko's knees buckled and she doubled over after seeing Jericho cut into pieces, narrowly avoiding a blade flying above her head as she did. She had nothing in her stomach yet the desire to wretch was just so strong. Junko coughed and gagged, trying desperately to keep it down, and then finally looked around to find where everyone else was. She couldn't see anymore...but...but those two were telling them to move. Despite her rage, Junko was willing to follow if it meant getting away from the death and blades.
She stumbled into the darkness, whimpering and coughing against her hand.

Aksaja came walking out of the portal into COMPLETE DARKNESS, and people yelling about moving and stupid kids. There were horrible sounds all about him, metal whirring, screeches, bangs, and . . . the screams of what could only be more dying students.
JACK. Without knowing or caring where he was going except AWAY from those sounds, Aksaja darted into the darkness, toward the voices of the two newcomers.
It was only once he was (more or less) safe that he realized the utter lack of certain voices and sounds that had grown familiar to him. No one bragging in his head about how smashing the portal was the right idea. No Italian. No swish of leathery dragon wings . . . But they'd gone in before him . . . so where . . . ?
"No . . . oh ******** Jack no . . . not you too . . . RILEY! JERICHO?! MALODORE?? Come on guys!!!" Jack . . . dammit . . . Though he was yelling their names, he already knew. He KNEW. They were dead. All dead. Everyone but him . . .
With a low upset sound, Aksaja had to fight just to stay on his feet at that point, the energy that had been keeping him moving seeming to leak out as the knowledge of his friends' deaths filled him up. As if there was no room for both things at once. But if he didn't move . . . he would probably be dead too. Jack. He had to. Had to move . . . had to keep going . . . for them. FOR THEM.
Raising his head, the lightning dragon's eyes narrowed and he hissed softly. "All right. Fine. I'll keep going. For you guys." Taking a deep breath then, he screamed into the darkness . . .
"VOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!"

BUL HP: 16
After a good bout of waiting for the portal to work again Bul had sat back and took a deep breath. He hadn't had the chance yet to stop and think about what was actually on the other side. It seemed that trial and pain had been company to all these boils and ghouls alike... it would be expected to have something far more grand than this happen for better or for worse.
Finally the portal was ready or.. so it seemed. What he didn't see through it was the pitch darkness that would swallow them whole. After all, he hadn't realized that well.. they were going to the DARK cove until now.
The half beast's ears flicked and he stumbled about in the darkness keeping close to the two leading their troop and suddenly started to drip with sweat. Past him and beside him he could hear them... feel them... the blades sliding around. There was nothing he could do but pray he didn't get sliced. Around him he could hear contact being made and blood splattering the ground. It was absolutely sickening to hear and feel and then... the smell. For the beast it was quick to pick up and he new what was happening around him to his fellow students.
"Jack be with us, Jack be with us..." he panted to himself as he made his way through the darkness behind Conquest and Famine.

When Alessa came through the portal, it was dark. Far darker than she would have expected. So she stumbled a bit, bumping into one student or another. Something was going on. They were in the way, but she didn't even know where she was, and honestly urgency felt a bit lost on her. Moving had helped a little, got her blood moving again, but she still felt very drained and lost. They were told to move, but there wasn't room and Alessa didn't really want to go stumbling around some more....
She heard the crash as blades descended from the ceiling. She jumped, but remained where she was. She heard the cries of a few other students and she wondered if that sound had been more injuries or...deaths. She swallowed and took a few breaths, as if to check and ensure that she was, in fact, alive. Not that it mattered a whole lot. Her ankle was swelling, making walking painful, and she was bruised all over.
Suddenly she thought she could see someone, despite the light. Two figures she didn't recognize...and they were leaving. Without really meaning to, she found herself shuffling after them dully, a bit of a limp working into her gate as she went. What could be worse?

He stepped through the portal into darkness, what was that sound? He couldn't tell where he was, couldn't see who was around him. For a moment he thought they had walked into that great abyss, a world of nothing but darkness. No stars, no universe, nothing, had his visions been real all along?
His ears twitched, what was that sound? Someone was screaming? MOVE! It was too late, a moment of realization had not been enough to save him. He had tried to run, to dive out of the way, but he had been too slow, his strength too faded.
Cold, so cold, he could feel the emptiness, the life draining from his body, the fading warmth of the precious silver fluid draining, pooling around his fallen form. So this is what the void felt like...
Instant death, he should have known. A final breath, his sight faded, blackness, nothing.

It looked like he had stepped out into a nightmare, the dark cavern, and suddenly bodies stabbed through left and right, he almost wanted to run back through the portal and stay there rather than continue onward here. Jack, he would have rather taken his chances at the collapsing school!
There was just so much death here... He whined, looking for Junko and Tomoko as the crowd herded him onward, away from the portal.

Mac had been more than useless while everyone else had tried to find the code for the keypad, and any movement he did before or after that was a mindless, dazed walk. He just had no energy left; he'd watched his two friends die, and in this place...he wasn't sure if they'd ever come back. Like a sheep he had made his way into the crowded, dark room.
He heard the whirl, the cries, the shing of something sharp falling. For a moment, a single moment, something hurt. A lot. A brief flash of pain that seemed to tear right through him. Then...he felt the most odd sensation; complete ease. Everything about him stopped hurting. The pain from his wounds, the heavy feeling in his chest. Everything was gone. Just a moment of pure, complete nothing.
It was almost...nice. He should...
He didn't even get the chance to finish his thought before his world went black.

Barth had hoped all the creaking, groaning, and crumbling would have stopped once they portaled their way to the new location.
There were more students here than had made it to the very bottom of the laboratory. All of them looked...tired. Haunted. But alive. He registered them with relief. Riley, Maladore, Jericho came through first. Tomoko. Whisper. Calder and Christof close behind him. His classmates, shipmates, and friends. Then they didn't look like anything, because the creaking resolved itself into crunching and the thud of metal cleaving into the floor.
The screaming started up again.
There wasn't even any blood left over. They had dissolved, ripped apart, and worse, worse... and for a moment, the walls gleamed slick like a new and crowded foyeur.
bodies and bodies and bodies
and bodies and
bodies
and
bodies
and
better
them
than Barth had given him an order, hadn't he? But that order had gone out with the Contracts. Riley's mark had still been...but Riley hadn't given that order, had she? And what if she had, she was dead too. Everyone important to him was dead. No. No that couldn't be true. There still...someone....with all the debris and absent faces, who could tell. He couldn't remember. Dead, they were all dead.
No.
He knew one person, important to him, that was still alive.
He was alive.
He followed the other handful of shaken, living students into the black.

Blood and horror and death. It was too much. Something in Siddie just shut down as she stumbled numbly away from the carnage. Sammy shoved her forwards, towards safety, but she barely reacted; she just followed mutely after the figures, wrapping her arms round herself, dry-eyed and staring, aware of nothing around her but the way forward.

When the portal clicked open Sammy was in a rather decent rush to get through and move on in this horrible place. Watching Siddie going in first bothered her, but it would be alright, she had her back and Carry wasn't far behind either.
But this wouldn't last. Not even a second into the room, and Sammy was stumbling in darkness. For a moment she saw Riley, her hand reaching out towards her, mace trailing behind her as she lit up at the site of Jericho and Malodore behind her.
That was untill the three of them where cleaved to pieces.
For a moment the world stood still, Riley falling sideways, Malodore tripping, falling over Riley as he was slaughtered, Jericho sliding sideways as his wing and arm fell.
Her stomach flipped, it flopped, her lungs and guts emptied out the last of the water inside them. With out even thinking, she grabbed Siddie shoving the poor Ghoul forward, "GO, RUN, DON'T LOOK BACK."
Her voice was strained with pain, her three friends had just been massacred before her very eyes. She was going to be next, her, Siddie, Carry, all of them were doomed now.

Arachne felt she like she had come out through the portal into a very cramped war zone; jostled by others, she stumbled around and narrowly missed being sliced and killed by the long blades as they shot down into the middle of the melee.
She screamed, shutting her eyes too late to not see several of the students die, and she spun away, sobbing, a hand over her mouth, bile rising in her throat. She couldn't take any more of this, how many more would die??
She stumbled away from the blades, trying not to watch more die as she looked for Sin and Sepheran
