She was reveling in their obvious victory, and while their work was really just beginning, Nemesis saw it as a time to celebrate. She'd have written everyone little invitations if she thought the party would be better with them included, but she liked it being her own little thing. There, she gave herself a mental pat on the back and twisted open the cap to a water bottle. It would have been booze if she didn't expect someone to get their panties twisted up in a bunch over it. Nemesis was lounging in the green room, her legs hooked over the arm of her couch as she strewn herself across it. Laying on her stomach was a small tray of those cutely triangle-cut sandwiches. One after another was popped into her mouth lazily.

She supposed she could do something productive.

But she was celebrating, just without the booze and even the cake. Nemesis could be forgiven for this. Capturing the Nega agents hadn't been easy, and only possible because every member of the BMC cooperated with one another to make it work. And oh, the benefits of their action had yet to be seen. They had a ******** Negaverse general in their hands, they had key players of the organization that the Negaverse would sorely miss.

They didn't have Alkaid, but Nemesis forgave the BMC for that. She didn't want to deal with the Corrupted Senshi of Guidance right now. She had Tanzanite, and that was all the play time that she needed. A soft chuckle rolled from her lips, and she took a swig from her water bottle. Nemesis was the perfect picture of relaxation, the perfect picture of someone who was soaking in the feeling of their great victory.

Bitches could suck the BMC's d**k - they had the ******** Negaverse captive.

A mirror on the far side of the room suddenly shimmered across the surface, a hand emerging, followed by the rest of a parallel senshi. Super Sailor Ares, clipboard in hand, strode out, scribbling something down. She had been like this ever since the Negas had been captured, taking notes, disappearing in and out of rooms. There was so much work to be done. The most important of which being the continued sedation of prisoners. Everything that had planned so far had been educated guesses on what it would take to keep a Negaverse agent too weak to teleport, formulas researched, pitched, and plotted by the Intel task force. Now, it was a waiting game.

Crisp gray eyes flashed up to the break room. It was empty, save Nemesis. Perfect, just the Blood Moon senshi she was looking for. Ares crossed to the craft table covered in sandwiches, fruits, veggies, and breads. All of it had been prepared by Fallon the night before the capture. It helped take her mind off of the tension of the night to come. Now, on the other side of it, Ares realized she had not eaten in a day.

Painted nails reached out, selecting a pesto and chicken finger sandwich, a few slices of kiwi, and four pieces of raw broccoli. Crossing to the couch opposite Nemesis, Ares took a seat, placing her clipboard beside her and balancing the tiny plate of food on her knees. "Nemesis," she said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "You're early for your guard on Tanzanite." She lifted a piece of broccoli and took a noisy bite. "Color me surprised."

There was some small part of Nemesis that yearned to have the abilities Ares possessed, not just her leadership abilities, but the whole being able to move through mirrors s**t was pretty desirable. It'd make sneaking out of her house at night a whole lot easier. She watched the leader of the Blood Moon Court in silence for a few seconds, waiting for Ares to break the ice. (As a side note, if she realized that Ares was the one who had prepared the food on the table, she may have thought twice about eating the food, but in the end would have ate it anyways.)

"I have to overachieve sometime," she responded with a short laugh. Nemesis was eager to lord over Tanzanite for a few hours, but not so eager that she'd give up her time of peace and quiet for it. Of course, Ares had already ruined her little celebration. Oddly, Nemesis was not pissed over this. "Are you proud of me yet?" came the cocky question. Nemesis didn't give a s**t if Ares was proud of her or not. The same went for everyone, really, and Nemesis was never shy about informing people as such.

"So, everything went according to plaaaan..." her gaze rolled back to Ares, the arch of her brow indicating how subtly she was hinting at Ares to say whatever was on her mind. Ares always had something to say, half the s**t wasn't bad too, so Nemesis could put through with listening to her.

Ares chewed on the piece of broccoli primly as Nemesis spoke. One hand folded a napkin over into a neat square, fingers smoothing the edges. The other senshi was right. There was something on the Captain's mind, something that she wanted to talk to Nemesis specifically about that evening. "Nemesis, I have something that I need you to do, something that I am only confiding in you," she said suddenly, setting the plate of food down on the end table at the side of the couch.

Both hands rested casually in her lap. "I don't believe that everyone in the Court is strong enough for what we will have to do while we keep the prisoners alive," she said, choosing her words carefully. "This is not something I have ever doubted about you. I know that you are strong enough to do it -- and to do it well. But there are others..." She waved a hand dismissively.

"It isn't just Cadets, though they are, of course, expected to struggle." Ares steepled her hands. "I would like you to keep an eye out for anyone who seems to find trouble with what we are doing here, or anyone who seems to show signs of dangerous sympathy for the prisoners." Her gaze hardened. "Please watch Scylla, specifically."

As a civilian, Ares was perhaps closest to Scylla. It was for that reason that she was able to read the moods off of her old friend so clearly. There had been something in Scylla's eyes that first night -- a wariness, a worriedness. It troubled Ares. She didn't want to lose one of their most powerful senshi, and she didn't want to lose a friend either. This was just a precaution, she told herself, one that she needed to take.

Strangely enough, Ares did feel like she could trust Nemesis with this.

Nemesis, was frankly surprised. There were few people who would put their faith in her, and perhaps that was why she put such little faith in other people. Why trust people who would not trust her? It was safer just to do things herself than rely on people who didn't have confidence in you. Nemesis respected Ares, but she rarely expected the woman to show faith in her. It was almost... nice (though like hell she'd ever say that to anyone). "That's what you get for taking strays off the street. They aren't hardened to the battle, and you can never quite tell if they will ever learn to be."

But when Ares pointed out Scylla, even Nemesis was surprised. Both brows were now arched high upon her forehead. Scylla wasn't a Cadet. Scylla was a full-fledged member of the BMC, a strong fighter. Teasing her bottom lip through her teeth, Nemesis sat up, fixing Ares with a more serious stare. If Ares was suspecting Scylla, then something was definitely up with the other senshi. Nemesis personally felt little for Scylla, it really would be no chip off of her shoulder to keep an eye on the other senshi.

"Sure," there was no argument, no playful or antagonizing words. It was a simple agreement, and perhaps one of the few times Nemesis showed how much she was dedicated to this court. Often, it seemed like the Senshi of Decay didn't give a s**t about it. She arrived late to meetings, to practices, usually for the singular purpose of getting underneath Ares' skin. But, she cared about this court. She cared about the ideals - the BMC were senshi that could do something. They would sway the tides of the battle to their favor, and they would save the world.

Her family, her friends, they would all be safe. Other senshi were too p***y-s**t to make progress in this battle against the Negaverse. The BMC were the ones that fought, they were the ones that conquered their enemies and ended their tyranny over civilians. For that alone, the BMC had Nemesis almost completely. If she could cut her past ties, she would have been more deeply engrossed in the BMC than she already was.

"And, look, I won't even ask for anything in return!"

They'll learn now, Ares thought sternly. The inspiration for the Blood Moon was to take senshi without direction and mold them into warriors. The Senshi of Smoke knew that would mean dealing with people with little to no experience, rampant fears, and a penchant for failure. It went with the territory. But with Operation Rota, Ares needed to ask more of her Court than she had ever asked before.

It was a risk.

A smile touched at the corners of her mouth. She appreciate that Nemesis wasn't making her eat s**t on this, but this was not a normal request. This wasn't Ares going on patrol with Nemesis only for the two to insult each other's battle skills all night. This wasn't Nemesis showing up thirty minutes late to a meeting, and Ares scolding her for the umpteenth time in front of the Court. No, this was something serious. This was important.

"People will be on their best behavior around the Inner Sanctum Senshi," she said. "I need eyes to come from someone they won't expect." Which was Nemesis. Who in the Court would ever expect her to be some sort of tattle-tale to Ares? This role was bigger than that though. A weak link in the BMC could jeopardize this entire operation, could bring the wrath of the Negaverse to their doorstep even. It couldn't be tolerated.

Ares picked up her plate again and ate another piece of broccoli. "Tanzanite should be coming out of the drug haze soon," she said. "Put much thought into what your first question for her will be?" The Senshi of Smoke had been pondering the same question herself.

"Is that the reason you've been keeping me out of the Inner Sanctum?" Nemesis knew it wasn't for that reason, but for a different one entirely. She didn't see the point in Ares' hesitation. The woman could trust Nemesis to do this task, but couldn't trust her to keep her mouth shut when it came to important BMC information? If Ares was going to show her some faith, Nemesis would naturally want Ares to show her a little more. "You know I'm better suited for it than half the senshi you stick in there. Honestly, c'mon." She wasn't giving Ares hell over the Scylla incident, but there just wasn't a day when Nemesis really couldn't go without antagonizing Ares over something.

Nemesis crinkled her nose as Ares ate another broccoli - clearly healthy food wasn't her favorite. She certainly wasn't crinkling her nose over hearing that Tanzanite was bound to wake up soon. "I was going to ask her how it felt to be completely and totally ********. Ooo, or better yet, how it feels knowing that she TOTALLY made it possible for all her buddies to get their asses raped by us. We should try and convince her we killed one of the captives. I wonder if that would make her cry, or rage. If I was her, I'd rage." Nemesis loved Tanzanite. Loved her in the way that made her want to snap the general's neck with her bare hands.

Tanzanite had beaten her more than once, and once was already considered 'too many' by Nemesis' standards. "What are you going to ask her? Obviously, you're getting first dibs. I'm jealous. b***h deserves more than one thing from me, all of them not pleasant. She broke my middle finger, Ares. Broke it." Nemesis would never let the tragic tale of her middle finger rest in peace. Her middle finger was the most important part of her body!

Ares snorted. It wasn't very lady-like. "You know why I'm keeping you out of the Inner Sanctum, Nemesis," she said flatly. So long as the Senshi of Decay still had ties with the Dream Team, she could not be allowed to lead the Blood Moon. Gaia was already rebellious. Ares didn't want to take on another rebel without the full knowledge of her devout loyalty.

In Elysion, Ares had seen Nemesis go to the Zodiacs and Helios over her fellow Blood Moon senshi. It was not something she could easily forget. So long as Nemesis remained loyal to Pegasus, she could not be entirely loyal to the BMC, no matter how good of a warrior she was, no matter how much time she dedicated to them. Ares would not budge on it, just as she had not yet budged for Sailor Albali either.

It was easy enough to move on to the more pleasant subject of torturing Tanzanite for information.

A mixture of pride and excitement bounced in her eyes as Nemesis recounted all the things she might do. Ares had already woken Tanzanite with a punch that morning, but she planned on waiting to begin her questioning until the others had softened her up. Laughter pealed out of Ares. She hoped the prisoners might hear it. "Convince her we killed one? Nem, I would snap the neck of one of those lieutenants in front of her just to watch her face." The tall senshi reclined in the couch slightly, not nearly as relaxed as Nemesis looked. "All in due time."

Lifting her sandwich, Ares took a bite off one end and chewed, dabbing at her lips with a napkin. "I don't intend to ask her any questions yet," she said. "Everyone else can have a crack at her. I want her well-worked by the time we have our first heart-to-heart." She smiled. "I know you'll treat her well." For what they were talking about, Ares felt oddly at ease with Nemesis.

"You've put people in the Inner Sanctum who, quite frankly, aren't worth s**t, can't do s**t." Nemesis had no grudge in particular against the ISS, but as a whole, she hated the group because she was not a part of it. She considered herself to be far more capable, far more loyal. Nemesis was the best, was far more qualified. Ares was just being a stubborn a** by keeping her out of it. What was Ares afraid of, people taking Nemesis' opinions seriously? Only grudgingly did she let Ares try to move the conversation elsewhere.

Torturing Tanzanite, right. "That wouldn't be a bad idea at all," she conceded. Nemesis knew how much it would hurt her to watch one of her companions be killed right before her eyes, and being powerless to do anything about it. If Tanzanite was still human, she would give a s**t about losing a stupid lieutenant. Nemesis personally did not care as much for the cadets, they were weak, and until they earned their spot little received recognition from the Senshi of Decay. Needless to say, Nemesis was not the most popular senshi of the Blood Moon Court, at least among its members. "We don't particularly need those lieutenants, do we? I mean, they probably know no where near enough as Tanzanite does. Using them to get to her head would be perfect.

Though, I would only do it too to see the look on her face." Her lips curled up in a brief, wicked grin before she ate another little sandwich. "The b***h has had it coming for a long while." Nemesis had not been open at all about her encounters with Tanzanite. Her meetings with the woman usually involved Alkaid being close behind, and Nemesis did not suppose that it would be a good thing to let Ares in on. Nemesis had some weakness when it came to Alkaid, though it was not something she couldn't overcome. She'd dispose of Alkaid long before Alkaid was given the chance to dispose of her. Nemesis had fought the corrupted senshi before, had conquered her hesitation and guilt. It was nothing that she was really concerned over, but considering the task Ares' had given her...

Well, she'd keep her mouth shut about the circumstances that surrounded Alkaid to herself.

Sailor Ares only sighed when Nemesis continued her tirade against the ISS. If there were cadets or other mercenaries present, she would not have been so lenient. Openly insulting the board of leaders who carried the BMC into battle was treason. But Ares understood that all of this bashing of the ISS stemmed from Nemesis' own frustrations. It even pleased Ares, in a way, to hear her rant. It meant that Nemesis cared, which was something entirely too significant to ignore.

Besides, the Inner Sanctum Senshi had been the masterminds behind this entire capture plot. Ares did not doubt them for a second.

With the conversation successfully moved to Tanzanite, Ares finished up her plate of food quickly and neatly. "The lieutenants might help us understand the organization of the Negaverse a bit better, but yes, they are ultimately only alive to be used as bargaining chips and points of distress for the important captives later." Nemesis was astute enough to see it. Ares wondered if other less strong-stomached in their ranks had made the same realization. Death was imminent for every prisoner in their warehouse. When the time came, who would rise up to make that final killing blow?

Ares had dibs on Tanzanite.

"The captains and general can provide the same information," Nemesis replied. The lieutenants really were just there as tools, and it was doubtless they had information that they couldn't get out of Wolframite or Tanzanite. But, knowing Ares, she'd rather be safe and sorry. It'd be easier to kill them and save the time and energy having to guard them. But, all things in due time. It was one of those things that Nemesis needed to practice - patience. "But, it's up to you. Always up to you, all revered leader, or something like that," she replied flippantly. Nemesis did respect Ares, it just was the rare moment when she actually showed it.

The Senshi of Decay pushed herself off of the couch, returning the half-eaten tray of food to the table with the rest of the assorted snacks. "But, I'll do this for you. I figure I should do something here other than look pretty, and well, kick a**. Kick a lot of a**." Nemesis was intrigued by the whole situation, and even agreed with Ares' reaction to possible weakness within the BMC. It was better to cut out the weak links than let them drag the rest of the court down with them. If Scylla wasn't feeling well with what the BMC was doing, then Nemesis was sure to sniff it out.

And she would report right back to Ares, like the good soldier that she was. "I think I'll go visit one of the prisoners, I'll catch up with you some time." The senshi left the break room, to find new things to occupy her time with. It wasn't like she had to find Scylla immediately. She'd see the woman when she saw her, the BMC were bound to become even closer in these next few weeks.
