[News. I got from it
this article, which was written way back in August so it may not really be accurate anymore.
How much are the VC games? I've never touched any of the internet features on the Wii.
Hm...interesting. I had never looked into it. I mean, I agree that it's annoying that so few come out, but I thought that was the regular release schedual. I kinda thought of the VC as an afterthought; ya know, a cool bonus. I didn't even pay attention to how often the games had come out, early on.
Anyway, the games vary in price depending on the system. NES is five bucks, and I believe SNES are eight, and N64 at ten. I think the other consoles they have in there are around those prices as well (sega genesis is eight as well, I believe). They've got a good selection going, but it could be so much better; something that the article you provided (thanks, by the way) touches on. I think the article thinks of the few offerings as a "death" of sorts, but the VC is still going, and I can't dig anything up regarding how Nintendo views it. Usually, if it wasn't doing well, they'll say something about it and the news will be up somewhere.
Regardless, it certainly can't be ignored. The amount of new games is really light, and most of them are...well, not the greatest hits, I can tell you that. I don't know why it's taking them so long to put out the greats, or some long awaited ones. I mean, if this is supposed to be combating emulation, then you'd think they would fight a little harder (then again, I haven't used an emulator in years, so I don't know how hard it is to get ROMs these days).
Anyway, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I had no idea about the kind of hoops they had to jump through to get a game on there. It's very disappointing. The VC has such potential.
