Response solo to: X

It was hushed excitement, truly, and Sailor Scylla was as enthused to be in the crowd as all of the other Mercenaries and Cadets. They really had made a dent in the Negaverse tonight, and even though Scylla had only been there to pick on a few small fry, her contribution had still counted. She'd already heard what had gone down with the General, and what a fight that had been to see. In some ways, she was jealous that she'd gone after the two lieutenants and the captain instead of after the main course that had been on the menu for the night.

Weeks of planning had gone into this capture, and she'd watched Ares carefully. The other woman was a fine leader, and knew well how to inspire her troops. It was strange- her friend had been a normal girl, until she'd come to host the soul of someone from another universe. In a sense, she was no different from the White Moon's Helios, possessing a body which was not her own. Still, the charisma that the two souls carried was... different. Seeing the changes already wrought made her sensitive to try and see the changes in others. What had Johnny been like, before he was Laocoon? What had Gaia been like, or Zirconia? She hadn't known any of them as civilians.

She watched the ISS encircle the dark-skinned Senshi of Smoke, frowning as she caught a glimpse of the blood from a wound. Leave it to Ares to leave blood on her. If she was trying to inspire the troops... well, it was working. A leader who did not think of her comfort before the morale of her troops.

"I wish I could tell you that the capture would be the hardest part of this. But it isn’t. I won’t lie to you. These next weeks will be hard, perhaps harder than anything we have done before. The Inner Sanctum will ask you to do things that you may have never thought yourself capable of doing -- but that is what the BMC does. We do the things that others aren’t capable of." Ares' voice rang out, and something dropped in the pit of Scylla's stomach. Foreboding, perhaps? Humans as a species were capable of some pretty terrible things. And she'd always thought herself above much of it. She'd joined the Blood Moon because of ideals. A pacifist she was not; Some things had to be done, and the White Moon had not been doing them. The White Moon, to this day, still wibbled and fought over Princes and Princesses, Kings and Queens. Royals were powerful, but unnecessary. Scylla had joined the Blood Moon because her friends were willing to get their hands dirty, and how could she hold herself above them?

If they jump off a bridge, Scylla, will you follow them?

"We are all greater than any prince or princess could ever be." People around her were cheering now, and Scylla was silent, watching the glow on Fallon's face. Fists were pumping in the air, and Scylla felt a Cadet grab her, swing her around in jubilation. She gave them a weak smile, watching the Inner sanctum split apart, moving in different directions, and split apart from the cadet, patting them on the shoulder. There were wounded, and there were those who were just tired.

Should she go out on a patrol tonight? She was a well-known member of the Blood Moon Court, and the Negaverse would be out hunting for those who had been taken. It would not be well-advised, and she could only imagine what Ares would say. Would the woman support her zeal, or would she, for once, caution her to moderation? Even a few weeks ago, Scylla would have thought Ares would caution her to moderation. But time changed everything,

"Can you believe it?" Scylla heard a cadet gush. "We did it. Us. No Princess, no Queen. Just our strength!" And the power of enough tranquilizer to knock out a blue whale. "I can't believe it! For Rota!" Rota had been a catalyst indeed. Her sacrifice, unwilling as it was, had not been in vain, it seemed. She was the martyr, and the Blood Moon would see every drop of her blood avenged. Scylla's golden heels clicked across the concrete floor as she moved her way to Laocoon, to get an assignment. She'd consider things more when she wasn't so tired. If her enthusiasm was dim, it went mostly unnoticed. To most of the cadets, the Senshi of the Kraken was just a wet blanket anyway.
