I was wondering who else has ever gone under, for lack of a better term while dreaming. Not lucid, not astral. Just like, gone under. where part of what you're seeing is another world, but everything is influenced by your own perceptions.

I'm not really sure what you're saying here? You mean, actually in another world? That would be a form of astral travel, as obviously it isn't our physical bodies going there.

Ok, it's like. When the astral world is trying to give you a message in a dream. Or, to help you see their world. The problem is, your perception can only handle so much of this reality.

So, you see the astral world around you take the form of your mind's manifestations and thoughts. Making for really trippy, way too vivid dreams.

Ah, I think I know what you mean. Like, the astral world enters your mind, but you see it in the only way you can understand it?

Sounds like basic dreaming to me. No matter what is trying to send you a message, the astral realm or your subconscious, it likes to do it with a lot of symbolism. That's how our subconscious works, trying to get a message across the only way it can, and it can result in some extremely...out there, dreams.

Personally, I've never dealt with an "outside" conscious trying to get a message to me, that I know of, in my dreams. My dreams are probably some of the most insane ones a person could possibly have. I do a lot of dream interpreting and once you get used to that, it's fairly easy to figure out what it is your mind, or whatever, is trying to tell you.

Precisely. But, it's one of those dreams that's more than a dream.

I kind of think I know what you mean but I usually get moments like that when I am in the process of trying to fall asleep.

I used to all the time when I was younger. Lately I've been having very lucid dreams that are....out there, could be it happening again.

Yes, I know it sounds weird but that's how it seems to work for me. Occasionally, I will wake up from it before I fall asleep for the night.

Holy geeezzz.... That must be trippy. I never get those until I'm actually under. And even then it's not that regular of an occurrence.

Are dreams a relief after the really freaky visions then?

lol, if hers are anything like mine, no. When I'm falling asleep and I have these "visions", it seems like hours, a life, goes by. If I wake up at all after that, it usually only been mere minutes. It's very... disorienting. Once I do fall asleep, the dreams are more understandable, but still very much...out there. My mind is better able to comprehend what's going on, but they're still very strange.

My visions tend to intermingle with my feeling just making it that much MORE confusing.

Those sound interesting.

I'm not one who would remember something like that - it appears that I have a sleeping disorder, and I end up sleeping with my eyes open frequently, and sleep paralysis carries over into consciousness.

Imagine being a little kid, thinking you're completely awake, not being able to move, and watching a dream on your bedroom wall.

And having that problem carry over into your adult life.

What Seiko describes, I've had happen to me several times. However, I have also been able to control it, to an extent--when I am in a particular state of mind on the edge of sleep, if I focus on a particular sound or feeling (such as a fan in the background) the result is usually a vivid "waking" vision. It's very difficult to hold on to, though, as it vanishes if I lose my concentration on that sound or feeling.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one that struggles with her dreams. I have become to an extent, an insomniac because of mine. They freak me out, they are infrequent, and they always leave me with a WTF face when I wake up. Always. Sometimes I'll have these lucid vision like dreams for days at a time then I go weeks without dreaming at all, it's like swimming in a black ocean while I'm asleep(when I can sleep). Sometimes I have trouble with those dreams carrying over to when I'm awake too.

What Satrevi is talking about, I've had that happen before, several times, and sometimes my mind doesn't always fix it to where I can understand what's going on, I'm just there, and attempting to adjust the best I can. I haven't been able to really do anything about it, and I have no way of controlling it. Stuff like this really runs in my family, on my mom's side, so like all the women in my family, and recently found out, my little brother, have these sort of dreams, and we have vivid dreams of s**t that happens later on, these ones always send me reeling. Not exactly something I enjoy really.
