The Gods must have rallied against him. Yes, that was it. That was the reason he felt his life was slowly being drained from him one second at a time as he dragged on under the hot African sun, which really wasn't all that hot... His paws were aching, his lips felt dry, and he could swear he was starting to see double. Either that or the sun was just playing tricks once more. Damned be the this he was shoved in to, but what could he do? Tradition was tradition, and tradition called for all adult males, save the father and those he accepted to stay, to be run out of the family.

Angrily grumbling to himself, and tail twitching in aggrivation, Ithu stopped in his tracks and just flopped right on the ground. It wasn't the greatest place for someone to relax, especially since he was directly under the sun, and he could just continue on until he ran in to a tree, but he was too annoyed to do that. Just five minutes. Yes, five minutes of rest and he would get back on his paws and continue on. Well that, or fall asleep. Whichever came first.

Arrantixa had been following the male at a distance for about five minutes. Was she following the male not because she was afraid he was dangerous, not because she was a creepy stalker but because she was heading in the same direction as him and she was feeling just a little too lazy to run up and catch up to him or walk by him. Or for that matter make him aware of her presence. She was a little bit of a smaller lioness and was gifted at keeping the beats that her feet made on the ground quiet and not noticeable.

She was liking the idea of company, she really was on the other hand she didn't want to make the effort to get up there to the male. He seemed kind of grumpy though. She could cheer him up, she was sure of it and that made her smile. She liked it when she could cheer up others. But he was so far away.

Or she thought he was until he flopped down on the ground. There was a chance, maybe she could catch up with him. She wasn't that far away from home and she could stop and talk for a little while. Her father was probably waiting for her but she didn't mind too much he knew she was on her way. She approached him with a smile on her face before pausing and looking at him. "Are you lost?" She questioned simply and to the point as she circled around him and then flopped in front of him leaning back on her haunches. "Oh, how rude." She huffed and then shook her head she knew that her father used to get mad at her for starting to talk to some one with out introducing herself first. She thought it was silly.

"Arrantixa." She nodded as she pointed at herself and then motioned toward him the smile was still on her face. "You." she said simply. she wasn't very good at this whole thing but she didn't mind. "You know Travelers don't get far when they stop. Arr's dad tells Arr that often." She nodded then looked around getting more comfortable on her haunches. She wasn't paying too much attention to the male's reactions. She was going to have this conversation if he liked it or not. She was a bit of a strange lioness.

She was also pretty interesting.

Even though his body felt like it was baking from the inside out it felt good to take a moment to relax and allow his sore feet to take a break from padding along the baking ground beneath him. The only other positive side to this was the fact that most of his coat was light in color, so at least he wouldn't cook at fast as a black or dark brown lion. All he had to do was rest a bit and make sure he didn't fall asleep to give a chance of becoming a target for someone.

That, however, seemed to be a little too late for him. It might not be targeting as in someone physically attacking him, but endless blabber was just as bad in his mind.

Slowly opening an eye to the lioness' question, Ithu couldn't help but raise a brow. Did he really look lost? If anything most would probably figure him for dead or something since he was just lying in the middle of a path, but who knows. Most rogues didn't really have anywhere to go in the first place, so technically, no, he was never lost.

With a roll of his eyes he gave a groan. Something told him this girl wasn't going to leave him be.

"Well first off, Arrnati...Ar..Arri," He wasn't about to even try and sound out her entire name, "no, no I am not lost. I can't be lost if I have no where specific I am going. And as for what you father says, while that may be true, I sure as hell am not going to get there if my muscles die on me, now am I? Might as well be slow and rest than be fast and die, right?"

Though Arrantixia had the appearance of a full grown lioness, Ithu couldn't help but get a sense of childishness from her, especially from the way she talked. Was she really still childlike in nature? Did she fall on her head at some point? He didn't know, nor did he want to know.

"Don't you have somewhere to be or something?"

Arrantixa was very curious of what the lion was up to. She was pretty sure that she had never seen him around here before that was for sure. She was hoping that he was friendly, if he wasn't it was a little to late because she was already talking to him she normally was a friendly lioness and she liked to think that everyone was friendly. "Arr." She said simply to him. It was one of the easiest ways to say her name. She knew there were a lot who didn't know how to say her name. She mostly went by Arr. Some times her father called her Arran, but she liked Arr better.

When the male groaned she looked at him a little confused, she was wondering if he was okay. She was very curious about him, why was he groaning way he okay?" Arr looked at him curiously before flopping on her haunches. "You look lost." She made a face she didn't liked calling some one you. "Name?" She asked as the motioned toward him. She was hoping he got the point. She knew that not many others understood what she was saying at times but she tried to get them to understand. "No no." She insisted. "In the open no where is safe." She shook her head a few times. He might be tired but he was in danger. "Unless you travel with partner, you not safe." She shook her head again and motioned toward him.

"Home." She said simply but then looked at him again and shook her head once again. "Arr goes where she wants." She mentioned simply. She really just wanted to wander around and go out for a while. Beside she wasn't going to leave him when he wasn't safe. And he wasn't safe out here on his own. Or at least that is what Arr was really convinced about.

Silence and a slight confused tension filled the air as Ithu watched and listened to the lioness. Nothing, nothing filled his mind or registered with him at the moment. Nothing but silence, for he did not even know what to see if he had anything to say at all. Was this lioness playing some sort of game with him, or was this really how she chose to act? He did not know. Part of him did want to know, yet the other part told the first part to just shut up, because it did not matter. Either way the girl seemed slightly off her rock, and while it amused Ithu, it also set him back a bit.

"Right...Arr." His ears flicked as the nickname slide off his tongue. He felt like some kind of crummy want to be pirate when he said it, but what could he do? It wasn't as if he was going to try to say her whole name again. Not unless we wanted to look stupid, again.

Shaking his head, the male slowly lifted his head and crossed his paws out in front of him.

"The name is Ithukawa, but most just call me Ithu, or Kawa. Choose which, because it doesn't really matter either way. And yeah, I guess I do look lost since you keep thinking I am lost. But again, I can't be lost since I don't really have anywhere to go..."

He gave a grunt as he trailed off from his sentence. He didn't have anywhere to go. He never had anywhere to go, at least no these days. Such was the life of a wanderer whom never wanted to be a wandering rogue in the first place. But alas, being a male of the family he could never go back. Never.

Flicking an ear, Ithu gave a huff towards Arr, and the scowled.

"I know I'm not safe out here, but what can I do? I don't exactly have a home to go to, not anymore anyways, so what do you want me to do? And what about you? Why aren't you traveling with a partner if being alone is so unsafe? It sounds like you need to listen to your own advice here."
