Sitaki's life of slavery hadn't been as purpose-filled as she thought it would have been. Jabari had been watching over her like a mother bird more than a slave-driver. She knew he wasn't sleeping well in part because of distrust towards her, but now she had a puzzle before her that she direly wanted and needed to solve. There was more to Jabari than met the eye. He protected her from the other Ligi, he didn't ask awful things of her, and her duties had been minimal at best. Sitaki was almost bored. Today had been one of the rare occasions that she'd been able to escape the ever-watchful gaze of Jabari. She knew she could run, she had every opportunity to, but she was drawn to her little puzzle, Jabari.

Iaeratu had her usual pelts across her back, having collected them from the remains of carcases and cleaned them so as to provide bedding for those who needed it. She hadn't had the need to hunt earlier, as most people seemed to be well fed at the moment, though that would not last for long. She hefted the pelts onto a larger rock, happy to be free of their weight for a moment. She'd take them back to her own den and sort them, and then distribute them as she saw that people needed them.
She was almost tempted to give a few to Jabari, who had given up his bed for the slave, but no. That would require going near the other Ligi, and it was his own fault he was without bedding, since he had captured the girl to start with.A slight frown worked across her face. The idiot.
She tugged out a few of the scrappiest pieces of pelt and eyed them, wondering if she she tossed them or bother to hand them out. They could line her own den, but she was rarely there and when she slept, it was only for a few hours at best, so she really didn't need them.

Skulking around throughout the pride, many things were brought to Sitaki's attention. She was in a miserable place surrounded by miserable lions. There was a strong, sour stench of fear and it wrenched at her heart. She was not normally a soft and caring lioness. No, Sitaki-hii had always found pleasure in destruction and seduction, using what she had to get what she desired.
But this, this was overwhelming.
She didn't see the lioness until she'd almost stumbled into her. Sitaki was so caught up in staring at passers by that the pretty pale female almost seemed to come out of nowhere. So involved in her thoughts, Sitaki grumbled a soft, "Sorry," before backing away from the female. She couldn't help the frown that came over her face. She itched to start a fight with the female. It was how she'd lived her life until this point, and instead Sitaki only mumbled, "Watch it."

Iaeratu was caught up in her task, so she did not see the other female approaching. She was startled when she was bumped into, wincing a little though not out of pain, and turning to face the culprit. She appreciated the grumbled 'sorry', but took offense to the 'watch it' she was told afterwards, as if it had been Iaeratu's fault.
"Forgive me for not moving out of your way," she retorted, after recognising that the female was not Ligi or some high ranking member. In fact, Iaeratu paused. She didn't recognise the female at all.
Iaeratu took pride in knowing as many of the pridal members as she could, since she provided for much of them, even the occassional high ranking member when they got too lazy to hunt for themselves. So why would she not know the female before her?
Oh! What if? "Are you Ligi Jabari's new slave?" She asked, knowing it might sound rude, but really, there was no real polite way to ask 'did someone force you into this pride and be a jerk to you?'.

Sitaki couldn't suppress the loud snort that burst from her lips as she gave the lioness a look that plainly said 'are you kidding me' -- she knew that the Ligi Jabari wasn't one that would proudly strut around lording over his new slave. No, he wasn't the time of slavemaster she'd been around before, and she'd run into a few throughout her life. Of course, none of them had been as smart as Jabari, either.
"I.. guess you could say that? He's really the most worthless slavekeep I've ever met. Honestly, I haven't had to do much." She shook her head and eyed the female that stood before her.
"Why? Who are you?" That might've been good to know before she'd opened her mouth and ranted about Jabari. For all Sitaki knew this female was as loyal to Jabari as Jabari was to being lazy.

Iaeratu was fascinated, even if the female was borderline rude. She had always thought Jabari would be a good slave-keeper, if there was such a thing. He always seemed content bossing her around, she thought dryly, before the female poised a question at her.
"Oh, just a curious pride member," she said, dismissively. "Iaeratu is my name. I am a huntress here and I had heard of your appearance in the pride. Ligi Jabari is spoilt, in my opinion, so I had been curious to see if he had been mistreating his new found slave."
She eyed her. She did not seem unwell, nor did she seemed beaten. Perhaps Jabari was being...kind, to the female.

Sitaki sighed, the muscles in her shoulders relaxing as she gave the female a sheepish grin. "Spoiled and lazy as all get out. I guess he isn't as lazy as the other Ligi, but still, spoiled all the same."
Sitaki's eyes narrowed. Well, cat was out of the bag now and there was no sense in backpedaling when it came to her feelings about Jabari -- if this female was a SPY, well, there was nothing Sitaki could do about it now.
"And such a JERK, too," Sitaki continued, rolling her eyes. "And he snores, loud as you ever heard. He eats like a pig, too." She was pushing it a little, there, but she wanted to see how far she could push before the female pushed back. Well, if she pushed back. Maybe the huntress really didn't have a fondness for Jabari. Hmm.
"I'm Sitaki," she added as an afterthought.

Iaeratu snorted, nodding her head. "Most Ligi seem to be permanently on 'lazy'," she agreed, rolling her eyes though she cast a suspicious glance around, to make sure no one was listening. She could get in trouble for talking out against the Ligi and whilst Jabari, Tasso and even sweet Kayin had never gotten her in trouble, it didn't mean that there weren't others around prepared to tattle on her and get her in strife.
"Figures! Even in his sleep he has to be irritating," she laughed, amused to think that the jerk Ligi was even irritating whilst asleep. Snoring? Ugh, just like him, she thought. "Are you hunting for him now? That must be a full time job." She crinkled her nose, remembering when he had tried to make her hunt for him, and gave a smirk at how she had sent another huntress in her place. He had been so upset with that.
"A pleasure to meet you, Sitaki," Iaeratu said politely. "Even if it is under bitter circumstances." That self-sacrificing part of her came out again, and prompted her to extend the offer, "if you need anything, or assistance in anyway, my den is always open." She didn't deserve someone like Jabari as a master, though at least he was not as bad as some of the other Ligi would be.

Sitaki chuckled softly. She really enjoyed this bantering. It was different from the painful conversations she had to practically force out of Jabari. She'd be better off talking to a stupid inanimate wall.
"No, I don't hunt for him. Like I said, I don't do much of anything except sit around and stare at the Ligi that come and go through the jaw. Thankfully I haven't had to talk to any of them yet. Honestly, you're the first female I've spoken with that can actually hold a conversation with me." She smiled again.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Iaeratu. And really, I guess Jabari really isn't that bad. He hasn't forced himself on me and he's done a pretty good job of keeping me safe from the other Ligi."

Iaeratu bobbed her head, understanding on her face. "You will likely be treated with cation from many here. Slave or not, you're still associated with a Ligi and that is seen as...unsavoury," she said rather dryly, though she had been associating with them more and more, though usually not of her own choice - the brothers seemed to seek her out now, annoyingly.
She was surprised at the female's comment about Jabari, but had to agree. "There are plenty worse than him, that is for sure," she agreed, wincing at the thought of being a slave to one of the more cruel Ligi - it would be terrible.
"How is your beddings?" She thought to ask. "I keep the pelts of all the animals I kill, so I can supply bedding to those who need it. I can send you some pelts, if you need."

"Jabari has given me his, so perhaps he is the one you should be asking about bedding." Sitaki gave the lioness a crooked smile before rising to her feet.
"I have wasted enough of your time," she dipped her head. "I thank you for the conversation, for the company. If you ever find yourself in need of company again, well." Her smile faltered just slightly, "You know where to find me."
Dipping her head again in farewell, Sitaki took her leave. She had much to think about, much to mull over, and after meeting Iaeratu, Sitaki really wasn't sure if she had room to feel jealous over the other lioness.
