A small droplet of dew dripped down on to the end of Psynomi’s muzzle making her awaken from her slumber. She groggily opened her optics and sneezed quietly as she raised her head. The morning sun was peeking out from behind the mountains restoring the lands with life and warmth. The corners of the young lioness’s lips curved into a smile as she stretched out her limbs that seemed to be rather stiff. It had been a long previous night. She had gone to bed with an empty stomach once again, only catching a fish or two sometime in the evening. They were rather boney than actually having meat and therefore she went to be unsatisfying her stomach. Psynomi stood up and stretched out her limbs again before grooming herself for a brief moment. She licked at her paws and bit gently at her shoulders before actually moving any further. Psynomi said goodbye to the small bedding she created behind a fairly large rock. She wouldn’t be seeing this quick-homemade sleeping nest again because she didn’t stay anywhere for much too long.
“Well. What sort of day awaits me today?” she smiled, looking up to the clear blue sky. She laughed softly as she breathed in the morning scents and held them in her lungs before exhaling loudly. “Which way shall I go today?” she looked about. She couldn’t spot any other residences moving about and probably not because it was still rather early. Only a few birds chirping, singing their songs could be heard.
“This way,” she nodded towards the right of her body and started to walk in that direction with a hopeful smile.

One of the sweetly singing birds let out a squawk as it was slammed into. "What... the hell do you think you're doin' waking me up like that?" the large red lion demanded of the bird through sharp, deadly teeth. "I only JUST NOW got to sleep, you--" "Either eat 'em or let 'em go," a voice grumbled from overhead. "You're too noisy." "Wake up, you lazy b*****d. We've been searching for two days for some decent grub, and I blame it on you," Shibasa called up to the disgruntled vulture, Nobo.

Psynomi paused and turned her head to the side. Her ears flickered as she heard some nearby voices and squawking coming from a couple birds. She looked to where the birds flew off from the branches and dispersed in different directions. She wondered what made them so upset, especially this early in the hours. She tilted her head to the side and debated for a moment if she should actually go investigate. It could be a bigger animal than herself which could be quite the problem. But it could also be something pathetic. Psynomi’s ears flickered and she hurried off to the nearby distance. Surely it couldn’t be anything that bad. Or so, that’s what she hoped.
She slowed down a bit to a trotting gait. “Hello?” she called out with a cheery voice, not worrying about her presence. She looked around with a big ‘ol grin. “Someone here?” she asked in hopes of getting a response.

"I've got--I've got children?" the bird asked pathetically. Shibasa snorted and let him go, glancing over as he heard a female calling.
"Over here," he called out, flicking one of the feathers that the bird had left away. He stretched, his back popping a few times from having slept in a bad position the night before. Then he yawned, his sharp white teeth gleaming, his mouth huge.

Psynomi paused for a brief moment with her head tilted and her ears swiveled at hearing the voice. In actuality she hadnt given it much thought of getting an answer to her question. She thought that the only response she would've gotten was pure silence. But either way, she was glad to have heard that unfamilair voice. The young female padded along and took gander to all that was around her. But she still couldn't see anyone. "Here...where?" she asked out loud. Was this some sort of a game? She snorted and stirred up the dusty earth with her paws as she lunged forwards. "I don't see you!" her lips parted and pouted. "Could you at least make yourself known?" she asked looking around.

Shibasa and Nobo looked at each other blankly for a long moment, wondering what kind of female couldn't find someone by the sound of their voice, or even the smell on the wind. With a shrug the big red lion headed towards the female, stepping into view. "Right here," he told her.
He looked her over. She was full grown... maybe she just didn't have much experience with hunting? He had been full grown (barely) when he first started out, and he'd really sucked at finding things, too...

"Oh."
Psynomi grinned dumbfoundly as she looked at the male. She tilted her head to the side as she studied his figure. "How very odd," she muttered as she never saw another lion which such a peculiar-looking coat pattern. She exhaled deeply to move the fur that had fallen in her eyes to get a better look at him.
"Hello." Psynomi smiled brightly as she took a step towards him. She sat down on her haunches with her tail gently swaying against the dusty earth. "Are you a good lion or a bad lion?" she asked. The corners of her lips curving into a blossoming smile as she looked to the stranger.

He looked at her for a very, very long, awkward moment before he started to laugh. Once upon a time he would have been offended by that statement, but now--well, he was starting to get used to the idea of silly lionesses. "Would you run away if I told you I was a bad lion?" he teased roughly, hearing Nobo snicker from up in the tree--no, that wasn't snickering. That was outright laughter--and there the vulture had fallen off the tree, he was laughing so hard.
"You hurt yourself back there?" he called to his familiar.
"N--no--" Nobo said, still laughing. "Are you a good lion or a bad one!" he repeated, dying.
"Honey, if a lion answers that he's probably lying," Shibasa told the new girl with a little grin.

Psynomi's ears pulled backwards and then fell. Her tail went limp and her shoulders drooped a bit as her eyes blinked away from the squawking vulture. She breathed deeply as she dipped her head down and flicked a couple pebbles with her paws. "It was only a question," she muttered quietly under her breath. "I don't understand what the big deal is," she said.
After a brief moment the young lioness raised her head. Her eyes were furrowed and her lips pursed out into what looked like a pout. Her red optics glared at the volture as she stood up but then she looked to the lion.
"You say that if a lion answers to that, than he's lying. Yes?" she tilted her head to the side. "So how come you don't answer?" she asked him. "And I wouldn't run if you are a bad lion. Because your little friend here has destoryed any ounce of threatening feelings on behalf of his laughter," she nodded her head to the vulture.
Psynomi flicked her tail in annoyance. "Should I take my leave?" she asked glancing to the lion. "Because I will not be laughed at all day!" her voice rose as she padded to the vulture with a displeased expression.

"If they say they're bad, they're probably just trying to look tough to impress you. If they say they're good, there's a chance they're idiots, or that they're trying to con you into believing them so they can do things to you," Shibasa explained. "Come on, Nobo, we need to find some prey to take home to the pride."
Nobo nodded, looking at the lioness with amusement before taking to the sky to search for prey. "Got something!" he called down to Shibasa. "This way!"

Psynomi's tail swayed back and forth in between her hind legs as she looked to the male and his companion. Her ruby optics glared to the one named Nobo. She scoffed and stuck her tongue out at him as he gave her a look of amusement. She then pulled her head back and looked around innocently but kept glancing at the two every now and then. Her stomach felt empty and kept growling as she stood there dumbfoundly.
"Hey wait!" Psynomi finally called out as she hurried to the male. "Mind if I join on the hunt?" she asked getting straight to the point. "I can help out to. I mean. What's better than three heads looking for a meal rather than just two?" she giggled softly.
"I promise not to get in the way," she muttered as she dipped her head down a bit. "Not that good when it comes to hunting. Much too loud," she glanced to Shibasa.
"So what do you say? One lion helping the next," she smiled brightly.

"Fine," Shibasa said after a long sigh. "Come on, I'll show you how to do it. But you gotta do exactly what I tell you to, got it? If you miss up and we get no food, you don't get to eat." Which wasn't much of a threat now that he thought about it. That was always what happened when you didn't have food.
Oh well, he thought as Nobo yelled down at him to hurry his fuzzy a** up, there wasn't time to waste trying to think up better threats. He took off, racing away and letting the female to decide for herself if she was going to follow. He had food to get!
