Faust Kovak was not allowed to bite. Not ever. His mom had told him that, and he didn't want to make her mad at him again. She'd surely get mad if he chewed apart the carpet - never mind sinking his teeth into the large boy in front of him. She had told him that biting people because you were angry at them was wrong, and that he should never, ever do it.
So, as he stood against the wall and glared defiantly up at the gang of bullies, he did not bare his sharp teeth at them and snarl. His teeth, it seemed, were the reason for this confrontation.
"Lookit you! You look like a little shark. An ugly little shark. Haha! JAWS!" He seemed to think he was very original with this remark, but really, he wasn't - Faust heard it at home enough, from his Uncle Zak. But just because he heard it all the time didn't mean it didn't hurt. He shrunk away, his ears begging to be let down, to press against his neck. His tail was already lashing between his legs, a mixture of anger and fear. He didn't like these boys. He'd never done anything to them! But now they had him cornered, and because he couldn't bite, he couldn't get away to tell the teacher on them. He'd get them, though - as soon as the bell rang to go inside, he'd tell the supervisor. If they didn't see first. Why weren't they over here? Wasn't it their job to make sure bullies didn't do this?
He clenched his teeth, and glared.
"Go 'way, Georgie." Faust muttered darkly, shrinking down even further. "Shtop buggin' me. I'll tell on you."
"What's that, sharky? I couldn't hear over your lishp." He laughed cruelly as Faust recoiled as if he'd been slapped. The older boy knew that Faust was incredibly sensitive about his lisp, and his teeth - and he knew that pretty soon, the boy would probably cry.
"Shtop it!" He said stubbornly.
"Make me." Georgie sneered, and Faust could only glare - because that was the reason he was in this mess. He wasn't allowed to hurt this boy, and make him stop.

Shade didn't like school that much. He felt awkward around all the other children, shy even, and he hated all the work that the teachers gave him. Why did they have to do all that stupid stuff? What was the point? Math was dumb, and so was science, and spelling, and all that other stuff. There was absolutely nothing fun about it!
Well...aside from recess maybe. Even then though, he spent the majority of it sitting on the steps with his Gameboy, playing Pokemon. Most of the time, the little boy could never bring himself to try to play with the other kids, which meant that this was his only option at recess - aside from hanging out with Faust. He did that too sometimes. The munster was like a brother to him, and was his playmate more often than anyone else. Which was why he was currently looking for the green-haired boy. The black impling had spent the last five minutes scouring the playground for Faust, and had been about to give up when he'd finally spotted his brother nearby!
...and he was surrounded by a group of boy who didn't look at all friendly. Frowning, Shade scurried over closer to the group, his ears flicking as he caught the conversation that was being exchanged between the two parties. They were teasing Faust. They were teasing HIS brother, who wasn't allowed to bite the boys and make them stop. Well, he wasn't just gonna stand there and watch! Someone had to stick up for the munster, and who better to do it than Shade?
"Hey!" The boy, grabbed the kid who appeared to be the ringleader of the little group - Georgie, he thought his name was - and swung a fist up to punch the taller boy in the face. "You leave him alone!" Pick on HIS brother, would he? Well, he'd show them!

Faust looked up as he heard Shade coming, about to tell him to keep back - but Shade's fist connected with Georgie's face, and it was far too late.
"Argh! You stupid little shrimp! How 'bout I bug YOU then??!" Georgie roared, grabbing Shade by the shoulders and shoving him down, and being much bigger than him, quickly sat on him and pinned him down. Two of his cronies on either side of Faust went to hold Shade's arms and legs down as Georgie winded back to punch him -
And something inside of Faust snapped. They could pick on him. He didn't give a hairy hiny. But when they started to pick on Shade, who, despite his fiery attitude, wasn't exactly strong enough to back it up...well, that was a problem for the little munster.
He roared, baring his fangs and snarling as he leaped forward, tackling Georgie off of Shade and trying to sink his fangs into Georgie's fat shoulders. But the other two cronies, who weren't holding Shade down, were quick to grab him and tug him away from Georgie, making it rather hard to bite him
"LET HIM GO!" Faust snarled, kicking out with his feet, trying to keep his grip on Georgie. "Leave Shade outta this!!"

Shade struggled and squirmed underneath Georgie as the bigger boy sat atop his chest, but it was to no avail, as his groupies were quite effectively holding him down on the ground. For a moment, the little boy thought that he was going to be pummeled into the ground - until he was saved by Faust tackling the bigger boy off of him.
It looked as though Faust were going to get away with biting Georgie until two more of his little friends retrained Faust, preventing him from hurting the boy. Angry by the fact that they were so outnumbered and frustrated that he couldn't break himself loose, Shade growled, trying to smack one of the kids who was holding him down. "I'll beat you guys up for pickin' on Faust!" Shade may have been seriously outmatched, but was that going to stop him from trying to defend his brother. "You leave him be!"

Georgie escaped from Faust, moving over to Shade and roughly shoving his buddy out of the way - he did, however, choose a bad time to do so. As Shade struggled, trying to smack one of his captors, Georgie pushed said captor out of the way - and took the fist to the face. His head snapped round, and he hadn't been expecting that. At all. Eyes wide, he stood stunned for a moment as his friends grabbed hold of Shade and pushed him up against the wall, one hand holding his face where he'd been punched.
Then, he bent down, and picked up a chunk of asphalt.
"NO! Let him go!! Stop it, stop it!!" Where was that ******** yard supervisor?!! Faust writhed and screamed, trying to get away from the two thugs holding him. What had they ever done to Georgie before now, anyways? He was such a douche!
"I'll show you what happen when little brats hit me!" Georgie yelled, pulling his fist (and the asphalt) back.
Faust roared, and lunged forward. His claws, unchecked by the two boys, raked down their faces and they cried out in pain, dropping him. He was on Georgie in a flash, clamping his teeth around the wrist that held the rock, and biting down. The rush of blood in his throat was nothing new to the Munster, nor was the squishy feeling of the flesh tearing between his jaws. Not even Georgie's high pitched squeal of pain deterred him - no, what made him let go was a mixture of a blood thirsty need to bite him again, harder, somewhere he'd learn never to bug them again; and the sickening SNAP that came from Georgie's wrist beneath his teeth.
The two holding Shade let him go and grabbed Faust just as he bit down on Georgie again, leaving a bloody bite mark on the bully's bulbous shoulder. They slammed him into the ground and wasted no time kicking his stomach, his face, his shoulders. He clawed and snarled - but with two of them on him, even his claws and teeth couldn't help him.
Georgie was screaming, and the two he had clawed before were gone - probably to get a teacher. Faust curled up on the ground and yelled as their feet slammed into his sides over and over, trying to protect his face.
"S-Shade, you little dumb s**t, RUN! Y'y'er gonna get in tr-OW-ble!" He yelled, yelping and holding back tears. It hurt. And he wanted his momma.

Shade hadn't been expecting to land a hit on Georgie. That wasn't to say that he was sorry for striking the boy, as it was really quite the opposite. The black impling especially liked the expression that the larger boy got on his face upon realizing that he'd been hit in the first place - it was priceless! However, golden eyes widened as Georgie picked up a chunk of asphalt, and it really didn't take a genius to realize what he planned on doing with it.
It was official now. Georgie was a lunatic.
Again, Shade struggled to no avail as he was pinned against the wall by two of the bigger children, which left him effectively useless. He hated to admit it, but there was very little that he could do to get himself out of this situation. Faust, however, didn't appear to have this problem. This quickly became apparent as the munster took a bite out of Georgie's wrist. There was a disgusting snapping noise, letting the little boy know what Faust's jaws had broken the bully's wrist. Georgie's two cronies let go of Shade at this point in favor of running over to pull Faust off of the screaming boy.
And then they began to beat him. Faust told him to run, but how could the munster expect him to do that? He wasn't about to just leave him like that! "No! 'M not runnin' away!" And with that, the impling latched onto one of the bigger boys with his smaller - but still sharp - claws, digging them into the kid's arm. This earned him a cry of pain from the boy, right before he was tossed off and spent back onto the pavement. Shade was right back up a second later though.
"Leave him ALONE!" Suddenly, it felt as though something had begun bubbling up in the boy. It was like his desperation was giving way to some kind of pressure, making it feel as though his ears were going to pop at any second. His heart began racing, and he could feel something crackling in his fingertips - right before a wave blasted from his body, sending the two boys who were hurting Faust flying back. The whole thing lasted for a mere few seconds, but when it was over, Shade suddenly felt weak. The little boy's legs gave away beneath him and he fell to the ground, panting and gasping. What had that been?
Shade wasn't sure, but he still managed to drag himself over closer to Faust. "A-Are you okay???" he asked, ignoring the fact that he seriously wanted to curl up and take a nap right now.

One second, he was being beaten up on the ground, his back and ribs sore as hell, and the next? The next the offending feet were gone, and something very strange had just happened. He looked up, bright blue eyes questioning, and saw that the bullies were on the ground, a fair ways away from him. He looked over at Shade as he came closer and managed a nod, his left eyebrow cut open, and his right eye swelling shut. He had a split lip, his nose was bleeding, and he could practically FEEL the bruises forming on the rest of his body.
"Y-yeah....I...are you?" He wanted to cry - but he wouldn't cry. Crying was for babies and girls. The tears welled up, but he held his breath until they went away, and managed to push his sore body up into a sitting position.
"They're over here!!" He heard the boys who had disappeared before shout, and scooted closer to Shade. Neither of them was a pretty sight, right now - he had blood all over his face, and he didn't know if it was his own, or someone else's. He rubbed it off on his sleeve as he spotted their teacher coming around the corner with the bullies. She didn't look happy, either, and screamed when she saw them.
By now, a group of other children had gathered around them, keeping a good distance away from the Munster and the Impling. When Mrs.Blackburn screamed, they scattered, and Faust winced, his ears flattening against his neck. He didn't know what she was screaming at - his face, Shade's face, or Georgie's bloody hand and shoulder, but regardless of what was horrifying her, the punishment for this certainly didn't bode well. For anyone.

"I...think so..." Aside from the fact that he felt tired. Honestly, Shade couldn't remember ever feeling quite so exhausted before now, but he figured that it must have been from...WHATEVER it was that he'd just done. What HAD he just done there? The impling boy wasn't sure, but it didn't appear as though he'd have time to think about it right now - not with Mrs. Blackburn coming back with the kids who had taken off to fetch her. Neither he, nor Faust, were in the best of shape, and the fact that Georgie was hurt as well didn't seem to do anything to calm Mrs. Blackburn down. Nervous, the smaller boy mimicked his brother's actions, shifting closer to him as the teacher shouted. Clearly, they were in trouble.
The two of them were soon escorted to the office, where the nurse attended to their injuries before the two of them were stuck on the bench in the office. Georgie wasn't put anywhere near them, of course, and the principle announced that he was going to call their mothers. They were all going to have a talk when they arrived.
It wasn't their fault though. It hadn't been them who had started it! It had been Georgie and his buddies! "We have to tell Mom and Auntie Kali what happened when they get here!" Shade whispered to Faust as he rubbed one of the bruises on his arm. All of this just wasn't fair!

Faust had no idea what Shade had done either. Not that he got the chance to ask, though. He was swept into the nurse's office, covered in salves and bandages and a couple ice packs. Georgie had to be sent to the hospital, and Faust couldn't help the quiet snarl that rose in his throat as he watched the ambulance carry the bleeding boy away. Apparently, he'd broken something called an artery in his wrist. Served him right.
He didn't feel bad for hurting Georgie. No, the little asshat deserved it. What made Faust squirm with guilt was the fact that he hadn't been able to keep his promise to his Mom about not biting people. That he hadn't been able to protect Shade. That he had dragged his brother into this mess, and now they were in trouble for it.
He sighed, and looked over at Shade, pressing the ice pack against his eye. He hissed as it stung and throbbed, and nodded slightly. "Yeah...but they'll be mad too..." He said glumly, staring down at his feet.

Kali was in the middle of practicing with Zak when the call came from the school. She answered it, ducking and dodging the spells that her Master refused to stop shooting at her, and nearly swore when she got the news. Nothing specific, of course; just that there had been an incident involving Faust at the school, and that she needed to go there, immediately. She assumed that Megg had received a similar call, because the principal also mentioned Shade, and a few other boys in the class.
She hung up, and hurried out, ignoring Zak's questions and heckling as she headed for the door. She was worried, and concerned at the fact that the principal said it 'was not a matter to be discussed over the phone'. It didn't bode well, she thought. At all.

Shade couldn't say that he felt exceptionally bad for Georgie either. A part of him kind of wished that the bigger boy had ended up with worse than whatever Faust had given him, but now wasn't the time to be worrying about that. Their mothers would be here soon enough, and when they got here, there would be a talk with the principle.
"Yeah, but they won't be AS mad if they know what happen'd." the little impling pointed out. "It wasn't our fault." He knew what his brother was worried about - Auntie Kali had told him that he wasn't allowed to bite people, and he'd broken his promise by helping Shade. That being said, the smaller boy would have ended up with much worse injuries if his munster brother HADN'T bitten Georgie. Actually, he could have been killed - but his young mind didn't register that. Death wasn't exactly something that would come into the mind of a small child. "It'll be okay, Faust - we'll tell 'em when they get here."
~*~
The call for Megg had arrived just as she'd been getting off her shift at work. The young woman had immediately become concerned, especially when the principle mentioned that there had been an incident involving the boys. Apparently, the man wanted to have a meeting with them concerning what had happened. Had someone gotten hurt? Were Shade and Faust okay?
Those thoughts were still nagging at her head when she arrived at the school, taking care to head straight for the main office when she got there. She wasn't surprised when she saw Kali there upon arriving, already having figured that the principle had called her as well. "Did they tell you anything?" she asked as the two of them approached the door to the office, worry evident in her voice. "I hope they're not hurt..." She soon got her answer when they entered the office and saw the two boys sitting on the bench. Needless to say, the sight of the two beaten boys did NOT help to ease Megg's worries in the least. "Oh my...what happened you two???" She hurried over and knelt down in front of the two children, immediately looking them over; Faust seemed to be the more hurt one out of the two of them, but it was clear that both of them had gotten a good beating. What the hell had happened? "Are you both okay???"

Faust shrugged at Shade, sure that he was doomed. He had broken his promise, and now his mother was going to be furious. And he hadn't even bitten him HARD. Well. Not very hard. He could have bit him harder. Should have bitten him harder.
He spent the rest of the time they were waiting scowling down at the floor, looking nervously at Shade, and then at the principal's door. His ears twitched when he heard his mother's voice outside, along with his Aunt Megg's.
"No, just that we had to come here-" she followed Megg through the door, and all but shrieked when she saw her son's face. "F-faust!" She ran over, dropping down to her knees when she came to her son. Very gently, she touched his face, taking in his lip, his eyebrow, and beneath the ice pack? His eye.
"Hey mom." He said dully, not looking her in the eye. He was cringing, waiting for her to yell, but surprisingly, it didn't come. Instead he felt her arms around him, and she was pulling him into a loose hug, kissing his forehead. "What the hell happened?" She demanded, turning to look at the secretary. The pinchy faced woman just stared back at her, gesturing with one hand to the principal's office.
"The principal will see you now." She said in a nasally voice, before looking back down at her book of crosswords. Frowning, Kali bundled Faust into her arms and carried him in, despite any protests he made. Which, although he usually would have, he did not. He wrapped his arms around his mother's neck and buried his very sore face into her shoulder, wondering when she would yell at him. Probably when they got home.
The principal was waiting behind his desk when they came in, his face grave, hands folded in front of him.
"Ladies, please, calm down, and have a seat." He eyed both boys warily, looking back out at his secretary's office. He considered asking them to leave the boys out there, but something in the face of the smaller, redheaded one boded ill should he suggest she put her son down.
He took in both girls, clearly judging them. Neither was very old, and neither had a husband, unless they were simply not wearing their rings. He had seen a much older, blonde man with Faust's mother before, and that hadn't helped his opinion of her any. He pursed his lips, and adjusted the papers on his desk. He had never seen a man with Shade's mother, and he wasn't sure which was worse. It was probably because of the lack of a good, male role model that both boys were such hellions.
"What happened to my son?" Kali demanded before the principal could speak, eyes sparking dangerously. Was it just him, he wondered, or were they...glowing? No matter.
He cleared his throat, and shuffled his papers once more. "I was about to explain that. If you ladies would simply take a seat..."
"I'll stand." There was a definite edge in her voice. She didn't like him, but she put up with him for Faust's sake. He always looked at her and Megg...strangely. It was creepy, especially when his eyes flicked down to Megg's ample chest whenever she looked away. Kali had never told the brunette about that, because if Megg knew, she was sure the other girl would never set foot in the school again. Instead, she hexed him every time he did. She could see that the last one was taking effect, as the man's hair looked much thinner than it had the last time they'd seen him. Served him right. Creep.

Shade didn't get much of a chance to respond to his mother or aunt's questions as Megg swept him up into her arms, immediately cradling him close to her. It was something that she did often enough at home, but the boy didn't normally appreciate her snuggling him like this in public - right now, however, he was making an exception. The little boy snuggled close to Megg as she fussed over him, and his ears twitched as he heard Auntie Kali doing the same thing with Faust nearby.
Megg frowned when the secretary didn't answer her friend's question and merely told them that the principle would see them now. "Damn right he will." the brunette muttered under her breath before following Kali into the office, about as unwilling to put her son down as Kali was with Faust. "Ditto." Kali was probably the more angry out of the two of them, but that by no means meant that Megg was at all happy with this whole thing. "So we'd appreciate it if you just got to the explanation, please and thank you." Despite her attempts to still be polite, there was a definite edge in Megg's voice - she may have not noticed the looks that the principle had been directing at her chest, but she was quite aware of the fact that the man was judging them. It wasn't an unusual occurrence, but Megg would have appreciated the principle far more if he hadn't been so obviously deciding his perception of them based on their ages. It was unprofessional, in her mind, and only affirmed her own opinion of him being a complete and total douche.
"Why do our sons look like someone's used them both as punching bags?"

"Your children initiated a fight between them and a number of their classmates." The principal wasted no time in getting straight to the point, now that both girls had made it clear that they would not do with pleasantries. "They savagely and viciously attacked a group of other boys-"
"W-we did not!!" Faust protested, suddenly, tears welling up in his eyes unbidden. "G-georgie wash buggin ME firsht!! I washn't gonna fight 'im at firsht, but then he-"
"Do not interrupt!" The principal growled at Faust, frowning. "It's bad enough that you've sent children to the hospital, you don't have to be rude on top of that!"
Faust's lip wobbled and he looked up at his mother, only to bury his face in his shoulder. It wasn't fair!! He didn't DO anything like what the principal was saying! It...Oh, he couldn't help it. He hiccupped and sobbed, hugging his Mom.
"I d-didn't do it, M-momma! N-not like he shaid!"
Kali hugged Faust tighter, opening her mouth to speak, but the principal beat her to it.
"And now they are lying, as you can see!" He waved a hand at the boys, and scoffed. "It is simply disgraceful."
"ExCUSE me?!" Kali sputtered, stroking Faust's hair. "How do you know he's lying?! You didn't even listen to him!"

Megg could feel her normally calm temper igniting as the principle refused to listen to Faust's side of the story. Both of the boys could be a handful, admittedly, but they certainly didn't LIE about things like this. "You know what? I think that you need to shut your pompous MOUTH and let these boys tell their part of the story!" Had Megg not been holding her son, she might have tried to deck the principle in the face - this whole thing was ridiculous!
It was at this point in time that Shade decided that he should say something - both he and Faust were hurt, but his younger brother was clearly upset and frustrated. That left it up to him to tell his mother and Auntie Kali what had REALLY happened. "Georgie and his buddies were pickin' on Faust, so I went over t' help!" the black impling finally said, looking between Megg and Kali. "And then Georgie was gonna hit me with a big piece of concrete, bu' Faust stopped him!" Upon hearing this, Megg's eyes blazed and she immediately looked to where the principle was sitting at his desk - if looks could kill, then the man would have been cold in his grave.
"...what?" she seethed through clenched teeth. "A piece...of CONCRETE?" Just like that, what little had been left of the brunette's patience was gone, replaced by fury. "These boys were picking on Faust first and tried to hit Shade with CONCRETE, but our boys are the SAVAGE ones?! CLEARLY, there is something wrong with you!" She slammed a hand down on the desk, barely keeping herself throttling the man. "Oh, I can bloody well show you SAVAGE, holy-than-thou a*****e! Did you even CARE to TRY to get that bit of information before you went on saying that OUR kids were the ones to blame?!"
At this point, nothing the principle said was going to save him.
