Pele Volcano
Shrine | Fire | Element
User ImageLocated within the nation of Kranila, Pele Volcano isn't exactly a hot tourist destination. For the most part, its only visitors are scientists and miners after the one-of-a-kind rocks that the volcano creates. Despite the unbearable heat coming from the stones surrounding the volcano, which explains why it has yet to be overrun by plants from the nearby rainforest, the outside is fairly safe with no visible patches of lava and the entire volcano itself is technically classified as being dormant. However, deep within the black abyss of this crater, lava is known to continue flowing, even if its so far down that none can see it. Hidden within this abyss lies the only reachable location that carries the true essence of fire, valued by both fire users and phoenixes.
Reaching the edges of the lava fields of the volcano is fairly easy. However, monsters do lurk about the inner areas, the parts where miners and scientists go for their jobs, and it is inadvisable to attempt to reach the mouth of the volcano, an even more dangerous trek, unless some pressing matter forces the traveler to do so. To reach the normal mining areas, three posts must be made by each person. On each post (fighting posts do not count) a four-sided dice must be rolled: 1 to 3 bring ten Charlies, 4 brings nothing. To reach the mouth of the volcano, five additional posts must be made by each person. On each post (fighting posts do not count) a four-sided dice must be rolled: 1 to 2 bring a Goblin Sorcerer and a Goblin Elite, 3 brings a Goblin Sorcerer and a Goblin Ultra, 4 brings nothing. Once the mouth of the volcano is reached, a Demon Hound will appear and terrorize anyone who approaches. To master the fire element, the traveler must go further, into the very depths of the volcano. Obviously, the only way to begin this trek is to defeat the Demon Hound. The trip into the depths is fairly easy; however, it does require ten traveling posts and the lack of any simple way down calls for some amount of ingenuity to scale the vertical walls, which also happen to be blazing hot from the volcano's heat. The deeper down one goes, the more unbearable the heat becomes. Unless the traveler is able to withstand extremely high temperatures, a four-sided dice must be rolled for each post of travel: 1 to 2 mean that nothing happens, 3 means that a pause of one entire post is advisable (if hanging from a rock wall can be considered a break) to acclimate to the heat, 4 means that the heat has gotten so intense that it is advisable to head back up and start over again. It is possible to ignore rolls 3 and 4 and continue down as if nothing has happened; however, doing so requires another dice roll: 1 to 3 mean that nothing happens, 4 means that the rpc dies. Once in the center of the volcano, one is ready to begin mastering the fire element.

Once he arrived at the volcano, Conner waited for Geddon to arrive. This was, in fact, his mission. Hopefully he'd survive the climb up, because Conner wouldn't help him. There was always something extra with these missions, and Conner knew it from the start. The dragons were at the peak. Geddon would have to go up there, dealing with all other creatures he came by.

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageGeddon arrived soon after Conner, walking out of the thick rainforest that stopped abruptly around the base of the volcano. Walking out of the undergrowth, Geddon brushed some neon blue pollen from his crimson coat, and headed towards Conner. As he approached, he felt the palpable heat washing over him like a wave, emanating from the dark rock that comprised the towering volcano. He unbuckled his coat, allowing more air to swirl round his body and cool him down slightly.

Stopping next to Conner, he looked at him briefly and spoke: "Thanks for waiting for me." Looking away from the Gunslinger, the young Ysaru stared up the unforgiving slope of the mountain. "And the dragons are up there?" Geddon asked.

Waiting for Conner to answer his question and initiate the climb, Geddon quickly drew and polished his katana before checking over both of his pistols and checking the weight of his ammo pouch. Everything was in optimal condition.

The young Ysaru stepped past the surly Gunslinger and then began to climb up the ashen black slope of the volcano. As he scrambled up the gentle, yet rapidly steepening, mountainside, Geddon kept his Ysari senses sharp in case of attack.

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageRelieved that his passage up the slope had been safe thus far, Geddon continued to climb the daunting face of the huge volcano.

Briefly stopping on a grey, rocky outcrop, Geddon withdrew the some of the food which Kora had given him. He ate a bread roll with some kind of sweet cheese, which re-energised him. He then continued the climb, feeling confident and ready for whatever the fiery mountain had to throw at him.

It was then that a Goblin Sorcerer and a Goblin Elite, cackling with mirth, emerged from one of the crags in the rock of the volcanic slope. Geddon reacted as quickly as he could, withdrawing one of his pistols and firing two rounds at the menacing looking Sorcerer. The bullets struck the Goblin, one hitting his left arm and the other one embedding deep in his left flank. Dark blood dribbled out of the Sorcerer's now useless left arm and also from his wounded torso.

However, before Geddon could finish off the Sorcerer, the Elite had rounded on him, slashing at the young Trickster with a venomous hatred. Geddon leapt back from the attack, before drawing his own sword. With a pistol in his right hand and a katana in his left, Geddon had but seconds to figure out a strategy. He couldn't engage in direct swordplay with the Elite, as its superior strength and broader sword would surely turn his katana into tinfoil. Furthermore, it surely wouldn't be long until the Sorcerer regained enough of its faculties to start casting spells at the young Ysaru. Geddon's main hope was to try and lead the Elite behind some of the boulders which peppered the volcanic slope. That way, he could attack the Elite using hit and run tactics while being shielded from the Sorcerer's attacks- for it would certainly take the Goblin Sorcerer, in its wounded state, much longer to get to Geddon than it would take the Elite.

Geddon began to dance swiftly backwards, with the Elite in hot pursuit. He led the Elite behind a high tor of black basalt just as the first Flame Dagger struck against the dark rock. Now that it was just Geddon verses the Elite, he could think more clearly. As the toughened Goblin fighter advanced, slashing away with its blade, Geddon continued to use his Speed Training and natural agility to dodge around the attacks. However, he could only dodge because the frenzied pace of the Elite's attacks made moving in for an attack of his own impossible. Thinking fast, Geddon moved away from the Elite's sword and backed himself against the warm stone face of the tor. As the enraged Goblin went to stab Geddon in the torso, he sidestepped and let the full strength of Elite drive the blade deep into the rock. Before the Elite could withdraw his sword, Geddon slashed swiftly at his neck with his katana. The slice had ripped open the Elite's neck, and it dropped, gurgling to the floor.

Now that that fight was over, Geddon focused his ears on the sound of the Sorcerer's footsteps. The Ysaru's instincts had been right- the Goblin was injured too badly to move that quickly, and so it had only gotten halfway towards the tor. Using his speed, Geddon ran swiftly up the tor and then leapt off of the top, flying towards the Sorcerer. Even as the magical Goblin raised its good arm to cast another fire spell, Geddon shot it square between the eyes.

Landing catlike on the gravelly slope of the volcano, Geddon breathed deeply, regaining his calm, before wiping clean his katana, reloading his pistol and then continuing his climb up the mountain.

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageContinuing his arduous ascension, Geddon was beginning to have to scramble up certain areas of the slope; kicking free large pieces of igneous rock as he clambered up steep faces of rock.

It was as he clambered up a particularly steep slope, with a sheer drop of some fifty feet below him, that Geddon came face to face with a new set of enemies. As he climbed over the precipice onto a flatter patch of rock, he was confronted by another Goblin Sorcerer, this time accompanied by a mean-looking Goblin Ultra; bound in metal armour and wielding a heavy spiked mace.

Like before, the warrior-like Ultra charged while the Sorcerer stayed back and prepared to cast a fire spell. Geddon jumped to his feet, drawing his katana. He slashed at the Ultra, but this did nothing to deter it. It swung its mace at Geddon who defended with his arm. This strategy stopped the mace blow, but Geddon had this small victory marred by a stabbing pain in his forearm: his ulna had broken. Gasping in pain, Geddon stumbled and fell to the floor; he only narrowly avoided tumbling off of the cliff. The Ultra laughed deeply, then turned and nodded to the Sorcerer, who began to cast a powerful looking fire spell.

Geddon, panicking, thought fast. He began to gather a Vitae in his hand, before firing a Blood Spear out of his palm. The long, sharp, swift spear, made entirely of Ysari blood, fired out at a blistering speed; so fast that it was able to impale through the Ultra's armour. However, unlike normal, Geddon grasped hold of one end of the spear, and used it to wheel the impaled Ultra in front of him just as the Sorcerer fired its spell.

A Fire Bomb struck the back of the Ultra, exploding violently and all but incinerating the burly warrior. The tough body of the Ultra protected Geddon from the burning flames, and as the fire died down, Geddon used the Blood Spear to thrust the charred skeleton aside. Meanwhile, the Sorcerer, furious at being tricked by Geddon into incinerating its team-mate, leapt, incensed onto the injured Ysaru. Geddon prepared to grapple with the Sorcerer, but luckily for him the Sorcerer's rage had impaired its judgement and it tumbled instantly off of Geddon and tumbled over the precipice to its death.

Geddon gingerly sat up, feeling the pain of his broken Ulna stinging the sore flesh of his arm. He began to focus the life energy of his Vitae to his forearm, healing the broken bone and bruised flesh. Getting to his feet, Geddon stowed his katana and then got out some more of Kora's food. He ate silently, still recovering from the shock of combat. Feeling restored, he kept walking up Pele Volcano.

[Climb up Pele Volcano: 3/5]

Skills Used:

Blood Spear
Rank: C
Pointing their hand at their target, the Ysari gathers Vitae into his palm and then shoots one end towards their target at incredibly high speeds, aiming to impale them. The range is roughly twenty feet.

Natural Regeneration/Improved Regeneration
Much like the regenerative properties of Vampires, Ysaru can heal themselves incredibly quickly. Trainees can only deal with cuts, at novice deep gashes. Adept rank you won't be bothered with a broken bone, and masters can deal with an entire sword going through a non vital organ. By Sage you can deal with a removed arm or leg. The energy cost is based on the wound, and all wounds must be healed at the beginning of the Ysaru's post, meaning that they cannot attack, heal themselves, and then perform some other action. The cost of this healing correlates with the wound healed, so if you are healing a simple cut, then it costs E-rank energy, but if your healing a broken bone then you pay C-rank energy.

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageGeddon continued to climb, eventually reaching a relatively secure plateau of basalt where he decided to sleep for the night. Although he had healed off his major injury, he was still a little achey. He opened his bag of food from Kora, which he had depleted by about a third. Reaching inside, he withdrew several rolls, some of the sweet cheese he had eaten earlier and some paprika seasoned chicken. Geddon devoured the food, exhausted after his climb and the fights that had disrupted it. Thinking back to the fights themselves, Geddon thought over his strategy. His broken forearm, smashed by the Ultra, and the swift blade attacks of the Elite made Geddon sure that he shouldn't go in for close combat unless the Goblins were somehow pinned. The katana was arguably his most lethal weapon, but his pistols offered both distance and attack speed. Geddon resolved to take any other enemies down at range.

Yawning loudly, took of his coat and then draped it over himself as a blanket. The incandescent magma deep under the volcano meant that the smooth rock Geddon was pleasantly warm. Waking just after dawn, Geddon brushed his teeth and drank a little water from his canteen. He pulled on his coat again, and began to trudge relentlessly up the volcano.

The slope was beginning to become slightly more gentle as Geddon approached the plateau which formed the base of the peak. As he walked up the last stretch of hot, gravelly rock, Geddon caught sight of another Sorcerer and Ultra pair. Using his Ysari reflexes and Trickster speed, Geddon darted swiftly behind some boulders. The Ultra had heard something, but the Sorcerer hadn't and they began to bicker. Geddon knew that, before long, the Ultra would approach him anyway. Whipping out his two pistols, Geddon began to focus his senses: breathing slowly, his heart began to thump less regularly and his hearing became razor sharp. He could judge almost exactly where the two Goblins were. Holding his fingers on the triggers of his pistols, Geddon stepped out from behind the boulders and used Rapid Chain with both of his guns.

A cascade of bullets fired at the two arguing Goblins. As seventeen rounds slammed into the Sorcerer he fell, bleeding, to the floor. The bullets struck the Ultra in several places: a fair few embedded themselves in the Ultra's left arm and leg, while the rest shattered the metal of its breast plate. As the Ultra charged, Geddon realised that he needed to use some other kind of ranged weapon in order to take out the Ultra. Then Geddon focused, and remembered his Vitae.

Dropping one of his pistols, Geddon fired out Blades of Blood, several scythe and spear like projectiles of Vitae, which impaled the Ultra in its exposed chest and killed it. Geddon picked up his pistol, reloaded both of them, and then stowed them away before beginning his climb again.

[Climb up Pele Volcano: 4/5]

Skills Used:

Rapid Chain
Rank: C
Description: Quite simply this: In a matter of three seconds you fire out all of the bullets in the current pistol, can be done with both. The sheer rapidity of these shots means you fire all of them at one target stationary target, by this I mean in their last post they are not running around they stood still or they are running at you in a straight line. The problem of the enemy here is usually if they get hit by one bullet they get hit by the rest and shields would usually start cracking due to the impact.

Blades of Blood
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Description: Flinging a hand full of vitae at the enemy, the Ysaru turns the vitae into sharp, scythe like projectiles, meant to slice and rend flesh.

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageGeddon continued to walk along the plateau. He was feeling extremely tired: the fatigue brought on by the heat mingling with the exertion of his most recent fight and the fact that his energy had been somewhat depleted. However, Geddon was determined to get to the peak, show Conner that he wasn't weak, defeat those dragons and gain his Adept rank. Geddon got to the base of the peak and began to climb doggedly.

After about an hour, Geddon had reached the peak of Pele Volcano, and from his vantage point on part of the large ridge that formed the circular peak, he could look down into the deep, dark vent below the crater. He could feel palpable heat flowing up from far below the surface. There was still magma bubbling down there.

Geddon sat down, ate some more of his food from Kora, and waiting for Conner to appear. As far as Geddon could tell, there were no dragons up here. Having said that, Geddon had never heard, seen or smelt a dragon before. Perhaps they were down in the vent of the Volcano, or maybe they were circling just above the clouds. Either way, Geddon hoped Conner would appear soon.

Once Geddon reached the peak of the volcano, Conner easily surrounded himself in a funnel of wind, rising high into the air, and scaled up the volcano. The wind easily pushed back all monsters that had tried to attack with ease. Within seconds, he did what Geddon did in the last hour or so. Once he reached the peak, the winds calmed down and Conner's feet slowly touched the ground. As if almost on cue, two roars echoed inside the volcano. "They are in the volcano. Ready yourself before I alert them. If you have a weapon you like, ready it."

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageGeddon stood next to Conner, his knees beginning to shake as the roars of the dragons echoed out of the volcanic vent. 'They will certainly be very strong,' he thought, fear racing through his mind, 'but I have to face them to protect Kusana, otherwise more might come. That's what Conner said.'

Steadying himself, Geddon remembered what he was fighting for. Feather, Celes, Kora. He was also fighting to impress Conner. Geddon whipped out both his pistols, and focused his Vitae and his mind. As his senses grew razor sharp and his Vitae bristled with life energy, Geddon nodded at Conner. "Do it," he said, preparing to his legs for an awful lot of running.

Once Geddon said he was ready, Conner fired one of his guns into the shaft of the volcano. Seconds later, the flapping of wings could be heard. The sound became louder and louder, and within seconds two roaring dragons flew out from the volcano and landed on the outer rim, causing a small quake as the two of them landed. They shifted back into their humanoid forms and readied their weapons.
The black dragon suddenly impaled the ground, though he began to charge at the Trickster. He pulled the sword with him, slicing through the ground, charging it with energy. When he ran close enough, he brought the blade up to slash at the Trickster.
The Red Dragon, however, simply watched. He'd sit back until he was needed.

Skill Used:
Power Slash
Rank: B
Requires: Shockwave,
Description: You charge yourself with energy and stab your sword into the ground. You drag it ripping the ground bellow you apart and charge at the enemy. Upon swinging the sword it is so powerful it would cut through rock and not only that rocks are following this powerful slash. Should an enemy block it with a shield you might be able to send them into the air.

Geddon Solo

User Image

User ImageGeddon instinctively knew that if this attack hit him it would game over instantly. He moved quickly on his feet, leaping aside to avoid the sword which was being brought upwards towards him. As the sword sailed through the air where Geddon had been just moments earlier, the Ysaru fired a two shots from one of his pistols at the head of the human-form Black Dragon. Geddon then quickly focused energy in his legs, and used it to perform the Dash skill: he disappeared entirely, before reappearing on the other side of the Black Dragon, about ten feet away from the sword-weilding figure, and firing another two shots at it's head from his other pistol.

Skills Used:

Dash
Rank: C
Description: Though the normal running of the Trickster style is fast enough to leave a trail of whatever color of clothing they have this is an improvement. This actually causes them to move so fast for a moment that they vanish and appear again. This can be combined with attacks, though there is some strange thing you only disappear for a split second the will however see you again once you are about one meter from the target. Sadly attacking using this is not recommended for you get something like tunnel vision and only see the target you are vulnerable to other people besides the target if you try attacking with this, you are also vulnerable to an attack that comes from below you, above you etc. Not even your bloodline can help. At Adept rank you may preform this in the air.

Upon seeing him step out of his sight, the black dragon used his peak form to literally hear the man's foot steps. The trickster went from in front of him to his right flank in almost no time. To avoid damage he might have received, he activated the Spiral Strike, surrounding himself in energy. The energy form deflected each of the bullets shot at the dragon, allowing him to charge once more. Upon reaching a suitable distance, he jabbed his sword at the boy, twisting it to cause a sound similar to a whip slicing through the air as his energy on the sword spiraled.

Peak
Rank: C
Requires: Adept rank
Description: Peak or Peak form is a knights skill allowing them to enhance their senses. This is pretty useful when fighting ninjas or assassins because you can actually hear their footsteps. Lasts only a short three posts.

Spiral Strike
Rank: A
Requires: Piercing Strike, Master rank
Description: This is one of the most powerful strikes of the Knight class. You fuse yourself with so much energy that should they try to strike you with a skill less than a B rank it will actually just bounce off without doing harm.. You twist the spear or sword as it impacts the target this will cause a ripping force to go through them. This will render anything less than an A rank defense useless while an A rank defense will just weaken this strike to a normal stab. Though several defenses can slow this skill down to a normal stab and you may still be dodged.
