Oh, how winter seemed to drag on for eternity! Even the desert did not escape the cold, ice-tipped clutches of Jack Frost, particularly during the night... This posed a slight problem to Lilith, who often enjoyed sitting by herself in the sands during the eventide. Now, finally, the weather had begun to ease its cold demeanor on the good green earth, and it was warm enough for her to go outside for a little while.

It had been a long time since Lilith had been outside, and she was eager to get some exercise. As part of a last-minute decision, she opted to bring along her two Pidgeots: Donovan and Dresdan. The bird-brain brothers had had little exercise as well, and Lilith felt it appropriate to let them have a little time in the sun along with her.

After walking a few minutes away from the HQ, Lilith set her small bag down and reached for two Pokeballs at her belt. She released their contents and revealed two large and beautifully colored Pidgeots. The first, Donovan, immediately took to the sky, circling above his human's head. The second, Dresdan, stayed on the ground for a moment, stretching out his wings proudly. He then took off as well, flitting about his brother. Lilith watched them carefully.

"Feel free to stretch yourselves out, boys. Be sure to stay below two-hundred feet, though," she called to her Pokemon. Hopefully, they wouldn't do anything stupid, like try to fly off or something.

The two Pidgeots flew around and around, both happy to be out and about in the desert sun. ...Well, "happy" wasn't exactly the word of choice for Donovan, who was almost always grumpy about something or other. The best he could pull off was "contented." Dresdan, on the other hand, was happy as a clam, eager to show off his colors to whoever would be watching.

As the two brothers flitted about, Dresdan in fact spotting something down on the sands below other than his human trainer. From his view point in the sky, it seemed to be a small Pokemon - though, what kind it was he did not know. It was enough to make him curious, and his curiosity prevailed as he gracefully swooped down from the air and landed near the little Pokemon, which he now clearly saw to be a Pidgey. Dresdan chirped and looked at the little Pidgey with bright, friendly eyes.

Donovan, unlike his brother, could not be bothered to go down and investigate whatever shiny new distraction had claimed his brother's mind for the next few minutes. He instead watched Dresdan fly down to whatever-it-way disdainfully. What a fool Dresdan was...

Dresdan's eyes seemed to smile as he greeted the little Pidgey. "Pidge-Pidgeeooo! Pidge-pidge-oooo?" ["Hi there, little guy! Whatcha doing out here all by your lonesome?"] He clacked his beak in thought, then stood up straight to look about the empty desert. Out of one corner of his vision, the Pidgeot could see his human sitting in the sand and his brother looking as grumpy as ever, heh. As he scanned the horizon, he could make out another humanoid shape not too far away. He looked to have some sort of uniform similar to his own human's, but...

"Pidgeoooo." ["Hang on, I'll be right back,"] he said to the little Pidgey, then he took off at a slow pace, flying low to the ground. He reached the other human quickly and landed nearby him. Whistling, Dresdan looked the human over. Yes, his uniform was a lot like Lilith's was...

Speaking of Lilith, she was happily sitting in the sand when she looked around her and found that she could not see Dresdan. She rolled her eyes and called to Donovan. "Hey, Donny! Where's your stupid brother?" Donovan, displeased at being called such a cutesy, annoying name, squawked and gestured his wing towards where his brother was. Lilith glanced backwards in that same general direction and caught a glimpse of Dresdan's grey and white feathers glinting the in sun. She frowned and stood. "What on earth is he doing...?"

Dresdan, being completely and utterly unaware of the intentions of the trainee, happily hopped over to him and took hold of his shirt with his beak, attempting to drag him along to where the lost little Pidgey was. Even if the Pidgey did not belong to this human, the human could capture him and be friends with him, and then the little bird wouldn't be as lonely! Truly, this was the voice of reason.

Lilith and Donovan had much different plans than what the trainee was intending, and so when Lilith rushed over to see her Pidgeot, she lowered her eyes and called out to the other person. "Hey! Dresdan, drop him! And you: that's my Pidgeot, and I would thank you to keep your mitts off of him!" Donovan screeched and quickly flew to his brother's side, cuffing him across the head with his wing. ["You retard! What were you thinking?"] Dresdan chuckled and shrugged.
