Your mum always manages to make you feel bad about yourself? I mean seriously, mine does it all the time, don't get me wrong I care about my mum but at the same time I hate her guts...
She always says or does things that make me feel bad, even though I know that it's not my fault that I for example can't stand being in crowded places because they make me all nervous and jittery.
And just now she was scolding me about how I "don't eat enough" just because I'm thinner now than I was A FEW YEARS AGO <- .. Are you kidding me? I swear some of her idiot friends just have to be a bad influence on her..
Just because I've lost some weight doesn't mean that I don't eat enough, I drink a shake for breakfast, I eat some sandwiches for lunch, a few snacks before dinner just like anyone else, not my fault that I lose weight pretty easily..

they are not supposed to do that. They are "Care givers" so they are supposed to take care of you, at least until you move out of the "nest"

iSin-Sama they are not supposed to do that. They are "Care givers" so they are supposed to take care of you, at least until you move out of the "nest" I'm pretty sure that she's genuinely concerned about my health but she always says things in a way that it just sounds as though she's trying to verbally attack me. It upsets me.

wow, it's been quite a long time since I was in that predicament lol
When things are not working in one way, try to change your approach. For example, you can talk with her and tell her you're not comfortable with the way you're being treated, ask her to change. Don't be aggressive, but never let her decide for you without you understanding and accepting her decision. I don't know how old you are, but you could also try to become more independent. I remember whenever I had trouble with my family I would take my bike and ride for hours, sometimes spending most of the day out. That seemed to serve as a wake-up call for them, making them realize that it was MY life, not theirs. I'm not telling you to go against her all the time, but to find a way to show her that you can take control of your life whenever you want and she can't stop you. Parents should only guide and advise their children, never forcing anything on them.
