It seemed dinner plans kept getting pushed back for one reason or another. First training for the raid, then the actual raid, recovery, work, work, work. But Mau had actually made reservations for tonight, and made SURE Nyx knew about his plans for them to go out tonight. So finally, Mau was walking to Nyx's room. Casual. He told her dress casual. He himself wore a zip-neck up sweater shirt and boot cut jeans.
He knocked on her door and waited.

Casual. What was casual. What did that mean? Nyx spent at least a couple of hours fretting and trying to figure it out. There was a dictionary opened to the C's on her desk, clothes thrown all over the room, and a white haired woman standing in front of a mirror, in jeans and a bra, holding various shirts in front of her, trying to decide what to wear. "Which one!?"
Luckily, Agent's quarters were fairly spacious, because she needed a girl's opinion, and all of her girls were very large. Maybe pokemon didn't have the best or any sense of fashion, but she was desperate, Mau would be there any second! A Charizard, Blastoise, Meganium, and Aggron all sat behind Nyx, watching their trainer run around the room frantically and throw clothes about. Mendel and Maxwell, the Meganium and Aggron, looked at each other, frowning the best that two animals without lips could frown; Their trainer had finally lost it.
"You guys don't understand- I don't understand- He'll be here any-" There was a knock on her door. "Ah! UH! Oh! Um! I'm na-no- Just a minute!" Nyx stared at her pokemon, frozen in place, unable to make a choice. The meganium rolled her eyes and grabbed something out of the human's hand, a red sleeveless turtle neck. Nyx threw it on, gave her hair a quick go-over with the teasing comb, put her pokemon back in their balls, grabbed her purse, and opened the door.
"Ah... H-hi." Nyx was scratching her head nervously already.

Mau heard her frantic start, then nervous reply and smirked. She had plenty of time to get ready. When she finally came out, he smiled at her. "You look lovely." He offered his arm to her, if she'd like to take it. Though he'd understand if she declined, they were on base after all, and no one knew they were dating... or, sharing electrons at least.
"Do you like Indian food?" He asked casually, leading the way down to the garage to pick up a car.

"Oh no- Is this not casual enough? I can change!" Nyx looked back at her door, cursing the closet inside and wishing she had more time to get ready; When she looked back at Mau, he was offering his arm. It occurred to her that he was complimenting her, not making a statement about her casual-levels. "T-Thank you... You too?" Was that proper response? She was really no good at this sort of thing. Nyx stared at Mau's arm for a moment, thinking, fretting, and then finally took it. What did it matter if anyone knew they were... dating... No one would dare say anything, except for maybe Seth, or Mau, but Mau was involved in said dating, and Seth was hardly ever in a mood to make jokes.
"Oh- Uh. I've never tried it, so I suppose I might." Nyx let Mau lead her to the garage and grab a car. She'd get into the passenger side when they were given one. Nyx, of course, never drove.

She was kind of adorable when she was flustered like this. When they were in the car, he glanced at her. "Do you like spicy food?" He didn't want her to, say, hate spicy food. And maybe if he got her talking, she wouldn't be so nervous.

"Oh! Yes. I love spicy food!" Nyx smiled, forgetting momentarily about how nervous she was. She really did enjoy spicy food, but her version of spicy was the hot sauce at Taco Bronzong. It was unlikely that was the sort of spicy Mau was inquiring about.

"You do? I'm glad. I'm pretty fond of spice myself." He gave a half laugh. The majority of the car ride, Mau was trying to keep her talking. About spice, food, anything but work or dating.
The restaurant they pulled up to was in the heart of Jinko. It was recently remodeled, or more likely, rebuilt. And by the looks of the parking lot, it was a fairly popular place. There were a few people waiting inside for a table. After helping Nyx from the car, he lead her inside, and approached the hostess. "Roberts, table for 2."
"Ah, of course. We have your table ready." And they were lead to a table against a wall decorated with a delicately carved wooden screen with colored lights behind it.

Nyx chuckled after they were seated and the hostess had left. "Roberts. Mau Roberts." It didn't really fit. Sure, it worked for a fake name; If anyone were to say 'you don't look like a Roberts', they'd look rude.
The menu was intimidating, mostly because Nyx didn't recognize any of the dishes listed. "What do you think? I don't know where to start." It seemed that Mau's efforts to keep her talking in the car had calmed her down some, at least for the time being.

He simply flashed her a smile as she repeated his alias. It made him sound like a suave action hero. Though if any action hero called them self Mau Roberts, he would be in trouble.
"Where to start? Well... How about, would you like rice, or noodles, and with what kind of meat? Chicken, beef, pork, seafood, or non meat tofu?" He set aside his menu for a moment to help her decide.

Nyx's cheeks flushed slightly when Mau flashed her a smile. Maybe he wasn't a hero, but he certainly did action, and tended to be somewhat suave; He had somehow managed to get Nyx on an actual date, while still calling it a date, so it made sense that suave could be on a list of words to describe him.
"Um... I suppose rice. And... chicken? No. Seafood. No wait... chicken." She looked at Mau, helpless at her sudden recurrence of indecisiveness.

Mau chuckled. "Well, if you can't decide between them, order one and I'll order the other. And we can share. That way you can have both." He offered. "A favorite of mine are the fried egg noodles with peanut chicken."
When Nyx finally settled on what she wanted, and Mau was sure she wasn't going to hyperventilate or something, their orders were placed. The table fell into an awkward silence when their drinks came. Mau looked at the straw for his beverage and removed one end. He brought the straw up and blew the wrapper at Nyx.

"Ah... so... What should we- WHA!" Nyx jerked back when Mau suddenly assaulted her with the straw wrapper. She stared at him, flabbergasted that he had done such a thing; Then her face scrunched up and she glared, playfully, at him. Nyx grabbed her own straw, tore off one end of the wrapper, and blew the wrapper at Mau.
"Take that!" Nyx placed her wrapper-free straw into her drink and began sipping on it like nothing had happened. "So... Do you come here a lot?" They couldn't sit in awkward silence forever, and they were out of straws. People on dates talked. They would talk.

Mau flinched back slightly as the straw wrapper hit his face. "Touche. That was a good shot." He chuckled before wadding up the wrapper and setting it aside. "Often? Well, when I have the chance, I like to come here. The food's good and it's fair priced." Sure, it might be a little out of the way, but it was a very nice place to come. Aside from the din of other parties conversation, it was peaceful. "And, if you like chocolate, just wait for desert. They make a fudge cake here I think you'd enjoy."

"Ohh, how did you guess?" Nyx grinned, of course she'd enjoy fudge cake. Who didn't? If it turned out to be any good, she'd maybe have to try to duplicate the recipe. She didn't usually have time to eat a proper dinner, let alone make a trip just to eat cake. "Now you have to ask me a question." It was a dating game of sorts.

"I'm sharp." He replied. "That's how I could guess." Of course it was said with a teasing tone and he sat back in his chair, smiling at her. "A question, hm?" he had to think about this. He could ask her favorite color, but he was pretty sure it was pink, if he remembered correctly. "What's your favorite pokemon type?" Might as well start with the basics.
