Tamin was on his way. He was about to start a new adventure out in to the rouge lands, searching for other demons to bring back to the pride. With a vicious shake of his head he cleared his mind of such sappy gross mundane lion thoughts. He was a son of the royal line, he was the demon Nicor, he did not care about the fights he will relish or the females he will enjoy.

The red demon was in fact already in the rouge lands, he had crossed the prides borders just hours ago but he paused to take deep breaths of the first day of many more where he could hunt to his hearts content.

User ImageMarinette was always out adventuring, with or without her partner in crime, Jr. She had been to the borders of the pridelands a few times, so long as she showed back up before Roth found her missing, usually meaning more than a day or day and a half, she was fine. Pretty much meant she could go about as she pleased and nobody really cared enough to stop her. That was the interesting part about demons.

So long as you didn't get in their way, most of them didn't care what you were doing. Most of them actually would rather not get near Mari. She was beginning to think they believed her cheerfulness might be contagious or something. Suited her just fine that way because it let her go about and be relatively unbothered by most of the pride. Roth didn't even like being near her more than he had to be, so she didn't have to worry about that.

She looked about wondering if she passed the actual border or not. She must have. Mari tilted her head to the side and looked this way and that for a moment. She shrugged and moved on in another direction for a bit, blinking as she saw another lion not too far away. Would he yell at her? No, that was not likely. She shook her head to dislodge such thoughts and just kept walking, right in front of the big male. She gave him a smile as she passed.

Tamin was about to continue on his way when he felt another at his back. Rather then show that he worried about whoever was back there Tamin waited in tense silence to see what would happen. He did not expect a red striped cub to saunter past him tossing a smile as she went. He was nearly floored in surprise but quickly resumed normal mental functions.... well normal for Tamin.

"What in the gods' name are you doing out here?" He added force and authority behind his question. He expected an answer and by the gods' he called on he would get one.

Marinette paused in her path and looked over at the lion that had demanded an answer. "You could have asked nicely." She turned to face him and sat, her tail wrapped around her paws. "I am exploring the pridelands and by your reaction, I must have passed the border." She bowed her head a little. There was no use trying to fight an adult, he would not wish to anyway. And she somehow doubted he was like that one crazy lioness that tried to eat cubs.

It was not likely that she would run into this same problem again, but just in case, she might want to find out where the line was so she did not cross it again. "Would you be able to tell me exactly where the border is considered, so I might not make the same mistake again?" She maintained her happy tone and the smile on her face. It was very hard to wipe either of these things from the red cub. They were a very big part of her.

Tamin was taken aback by the female. She had the guts to stand up to him and yet still appeared cheery and polite. He gave himself a mental shake if she was going to act cheery and polite Tamin could act cheery and polite too. He knew how even if he didn't do it very often. Like almost never.

With a tight, awkward, falsely friendly smile he said, "That would be a correct guess. The border was back a little bit and while I am guessing you know how to fight it is still not safe for a younger lion to be out here yet." That was a bunch of elephant hockey since Tamin himself spent quite a bit of his time on the border or over it... when he could get away with it. Most of his time was spent training or playing but he did do a lot of it making trouble and being a pain, not that anyone really said as much to his face. "I could explain it but it would be best to show you as sometimes it is hard to tell." Her happy tone was still throwing him off stride but it was making his polite slightly interested tone sound more sincere. Apparently practice does make it easier.

Marinette perked up at the sight of the smile. She had inspired a smiled in the male, that had to be a good thing. Okay so it was a little forced and false at first, but he could have just smacked her around and yelled at her. The fact that he had bothered to force a smile to his face and tried to sound cheerful, made her feel quite proud of herself. Now all she needed was for him to not beat her or tell her father about it.

Roth was not so easily appeased. More like hated every cheerful bit of her most of the time. She brightened her smile to nearly beaming and 'accidently' rubbed against his foreleg as she got up to follow where he lead. "That is very kind of you to offer to show me where the border is. I am sure that I could handle most rouges that would be out here... but I guess it is best to be on the safe side for now." She had gotten her father's size at least.

She was large for her age, and her brother Sixx had made sure she could fight very well. She hardly ever found a reason to use those fighting skills though. She had learned well that while she had to be careful with most of the pride, she could still charm a lot of them by being pretty. Not inspire the cheerfulness like she was finding in Tamin usually, but at least get her punishments downplayed. "I take it you do not smile very often?" She flicked his nose with her tail as she went back toward the border. "You should, it compliments your good looks."

Tamin was really confused by this female. She appeared to be so happy and cheerful. This was not normal for a demon. Still he kept his smile even though it strained his face a bit. He really wanted to sneer and maybe show this female about how to be a real demon but he knew it wasn't his place so instead he walked over to the border and stood on it. "At this point you are half in the pride and half out. It doesn't matter how good you are at fighting its always best to have someone at your back out here." Of course Tamin didn't believe his own words. There were few he would trust at his back and even less who he would travel with.

"Smiling is not really common for me but I'll take your suggestion and think about it."

Mari sat down on the pride side of the border. "I have learned it is best to rely on yourself first. There are very few you can trust as much as you do yourself. That is probably why we have a demon to rely on." She kept the cheerful tone and the smile the whole time. Some might have thought her a little creepy, her pride, not so much. "Are you going out to bring other adults, or are you like my sire and go out to bring cubs you sire?"

"Perhaps you need a good reason to smile... do you know that if you smile most others will underestimate your fighting ability and it gives you an advantage?" Mari was curious and was not above asking questions of others. He didn't have to answer, but it would be nice if he would. "Maybe you will bring back some decent prospects for when I am old enough to have cubs. There seems to be a lack in our pride, current company excluded."

Tamin nodded. Apparently the cheery female was more of a demon then just her size. Tamin always thought it was best to trust few of his pride members, his imitate family for the most part excluded. This wouldn't prevent him from doing his job. The cub's next words surprised him a bit, "Both. The adults to bring new blood and my cubs to carry on my line." The cubs were really more of a after thought since he was more interested in the making rather then the product of such dalliances. But he knew what his job was so any cubs that would come of such amusements would return with him to the pride, with or without their mother's acceptance.

Again Tamin was surprised by this cub. She had a point since he was beginning to believe that this female had more fighting skill then he first thought, not that he would ever admit to such lack of knowledge. Instead he just nodded with a knowing expression on his face, as if he knew that and she just said something intelligent that deserved praise. He smiled, this time quite naturally, when she said he was a decent prospect. She was too young for him but that didn't mean that he didn't agree with her. "I'm sure that I will bring back plenty of demons for you to chose from."

Mari listened intently to the male's answers. So he was going to be bringing back others? Hopefully, he would bring back some interesting others. She was getting a little bored with some of the members of the pride. Well, most of them actually. Jr., jr's mother, and Mari's brother Sixx were really about the only interesting members of the pride to her. Maybe she would count this male in there. Maybe.

She noticed the way his smile got easier as they spoke and was impressed. He really did have more potential than her father. Roth was such a moody arse, but this male was intelligent it seemed. Marinette shot him a more playful grin. "At least you know how to appreciate a compliment. I plan to travel outside the pridelands one day... not sure if I will simply bring back cubs or others... maybe I should keep in mind working with you. Would make it much easier to search for others with two to do the tracking."

Tamin nodded in thought. Again she had a point. It would be easer to find rouge demons with an extra hunter, it would also be easer to bring back slaves into the pride. But that would be in the future since she was still a bit young to do more then just practice fighting and hunting skills. And besides who said that Tamin really needed the help, or wanted it, but it was a thought. It would give him something to think about as he searched the rouge lands for demons.

With that thought in mind Tamin checked the sun in the sky and saw that he had spent more time then he ment when he originally stoped for a brief moment after leaving the pride lands. Not enitrely sure how to tell the cub goodbye, he sorta wanted to just walk off, Tamin cleared his throat briefly. "Yes well, I should be going. You stay in the the border now." With a nod he turned and walked away. He really did needed to work on his mannors.

Mari giggled at his bad manners and trotted after him to give him a lick on the cheek. She looked rather cute when she put one paw on his foreleg to stretch up for that lick. "Good day to you and happy hunting! My name is Marinette! You might wish to remember it!" She gave him a wicked grin and one last flick on the nose with her tail before bounding off without another word. Let him think about THAT exit for a while.

She practically skipped as she disappeared back across the border to find her next adventure. Mari was always looking for adventure afterall. And one day soon she was sure she would be finding her adventure with that big lion, or at least talking to him again. She just had a very good feeling about how they had gotten along. That was more than she could say about most of her pride, and family. But that aside, there were other things to be doing.
