Yaya was a complex lioness, she was very go with the flow and forgetful, but at the same time she had a mission. A pair of seers told her that she would find love near water. The tan and red colored lioness had taken a lot of time looking for bodies of water, she had gone to the ocean, seen large bodies of water that were vast expanses, and spent time sitting at the edge of puddles, hoping to find true love.
She walked this time near a decent sized watering hole, she saw her reflection in the water and smiled. Yaya thought of herself as beautiful, not vainly so, but a lot more recently she'd been making sure to stay groomed in case she found the one. It was lonely not having family around, and she'd nearly become completely obsessed with this fairy tale ending. The bracelets made soft shushing noises a she walked. Yaya almost looked lost and nervous as she moved.

Time alone was a rarity when your family was as gigantic as Shani's, but somehow she had managed it. She was a little more quiet than usual since the death of her father, she supposed that made her less interesting to the small ones and got the older ones to let her be. She wasn't sure how she felt about everything, but she figured a walk around might help her.
She had worked her way around the waterhole, reminiscing about how she and Wahabu had met there secretly before they had really become a couple. It was nice to think of happy things.
As the waterhole was rarely empty, she didn't pay much special attention to the unfamiliar lioness standing at its edge.

Yaya saw another lioness approach the watering hole, the tan lioness watched the brown one's reflection on the water. She watched her not all together curious, she was after all here to bump into someone. She'd dreamed of the moment and always assumed whomever was meant for her would be a male. With the hustle and bustle of the watering hole the stranger was beginning to believe that she'd stumbled into the lands of a pride.
Shyly, Yaya walked towards the female, "I think I'm pretty lost...have I walked into the lands of a pride?" No one had stopped her,and not many had looked twice at her as she traveled through the lands, so Yaya had assumed that it was a high traffic area. "I d-don't want to trespass."
She'd only told so many about her true mission, to either prove or disprove the green lioness' premonition. At this point she was fairly certain she was searching for no one, that it was a lie told to her in exchange for a bracelet.

Shani wandered around the water's edge but noticed the approaching stranger before she spoke. She stopped and looked up at her, smiling at her as she expressed her concern.
"You are in the Pridelands right now," Shani said simply, "We don't worry ourselves much with rogues passing through, so you don't need to worry about us. Has something brought you this way or was it an accident?"
It seemed a silly question once she said it. If something had brought her this way, it was almost certain that she would have known to expect the Pridelanders to be here. It was a large and well known pride, after all.

There was physical proof of Yaya's relief, her facial expression softened and she let out a breath slowly. She smiled at Shani and thought it over, to tell the true story or to just say that she was lost and would be on her way.
"The Pridelands," she tested the word, that seemed to be the perfect name for a pride, if there ever was one, "My name is Yaya."
"I don't know if you would believe me if I told you," she laughed, "A while ago I ran into a snake and a lioness, they claimed to be seers that could tell my future. They said I would find love near water. So I've been traveling to watering holes, and lakes..trying to find it." She blushed furiously, thank goodness Shani could not see the blood rushing to her face through all of her fur.

She watched patiently as Yaya softened, knowing how stressful it might be to find one's self in a stranger territory- but she truly did have nothing to worry about now.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Yaya," she said brightly, finding this to be a very nice distraction from the confusing thoughts of recent events, "My name is Shani."
Her head tilted when Yaya started off her story with 'I don't know if you would believe me if I told you' .. there was a lot that Shani had heard, being a mother to so many, but she was uncertain about any far-fetched stories an adult might come up with. She perked up interestedly when she mentioned seers.
"That is a very specific and very vague prediction," she said thoughtfully, wondering at how it was very specific about what would happen but still so very general about the situation, "I know seers to be real. My mate is a seer, though he hasn't had any unexpected visions lately. There's no reason it couldn't happen."

She nodded thinking the same thing, she'd run over what Kina had said again and again, and agreed it was just specific enough that if it would truly happen she would know it instantly to be a correct prediction, but vague enough that any part of the situation could apply.
"I'm a hopeful romantic I guess, and there's not much else going on in my life to not try and search for the love of my life." She beamed at the idea.
"I had never heard of seers until this pair! It's nice to know that they really do exist." She sat down near Shani hoping that she was not intruding on the other female's time.
"Do you like living here? Is it hard to become apart of the pride?" Yaya had been having hopes of settling down somewhere, but her endless search for 'the one' had made her move around quite a bit. "I'm beginning to think I should give up looking, and settle in somewhere."

"I've always lived here, I wouldn't know any different- but I do love it," she said, "It's not hard to join, you only need to talk to the King. Just as we welcome most passers-by, we welcome most new members."
She couldn't help but frown a bit as the topic of love became less optimistic. Shani had seen a lot of love in her life- or so she liked to think. She had seen her parents, however unfortunate the end to that. She had Wahabu herself, she had helped Enzi and Kafara and most recently she saw Manuku and Marini.. and that was just some in here immediate family. There was love all over the place here. Of course, sometimes it didn't work like that. Demeter came to mind, but she was happy and Makkai was happy.
"Maybe you ought to give love a chance to find you," she said.

Shani seemed healthy, and normal. it wouldn't be a very bad idea for her to join a pride where things seemed peaceful, the land was beautiful, she'd seen prey beasts, and there was obviously fresh water.
She hadn't thought of that, let love find her? Well, she let everything else find her, she was a wander by nature and really had been going with the flow of things until the premonition started to eat at her, she wanted the happy ever after.
"I guess I was so busy obsessing over it, that I never thought of stopping and letting fate take it's course," she laughed, it was a light and airy sound, around her neck the fish bones jingled clattering together.
"I'm so sorry Shani, to dump on you," her words were kind, and she had a good idea. Yaya liked the female for a first impression, then again it wasn't that hard to make a bad one on her. "I bothered you while you were out and about."

"No, don't worry about it," she said, "Perhaps I can help you."
She couldn't say what really gave her the idea but Yaya seemed nice enough and it was a shame to hear she had been trying so hard.. but perhaps she could be of help. The least she could do was take on some of the effort so that the lioness could relax instead of worrying about this. It would be good for her. Shani did like to help.
"If you're sincerely considering joining a pride, why don't you come with me and meet some of the others?" she offered, "You can see what you think."
Wahabu was a little more wary of outsiders since the attack on him but he wasn't xenophobic and any farther into the pride it'd be hard for someone to attack. Even here it would be hard to be malicious, the waterhole was so busy.

She was relieved that Shani didn't mind her being around, Yaya might be a bit scatterbrained, but being rude was something that she tried very hard not to do. Yaya nodded slowly, that would be very nice to meet others in the pride, especially if they were friends with Shani. The cream colored lioness wasn't exactly sold on the idea, but it was a good one.
"I think I would really like that, if you're sure it's no trouble to show me around," she smiled so happy that the other lioness was being so kind.
There wasn't a lot of relief, she was still very hip to the idea of finding love, but there was almost a small burden lifted, let love find you..seemed like a decent idea.
