Well everybody has to love pep band. Yuo get to have fun playing great music, and having fun with your band. What would you say is some of your favorite pep band music?
Mine would have to be Your gonna go far kid, Final Count down, Black Parade, Fireworks, and a couple others.

the final countdown!!! i love that song!! (theres a KAZOO version on itunes somewhere.)
brooklyn (youngblood brass band) and GET DOWN TONIGHT!!! with a tuba solo (tribute to the sousa that got run over with a truck...) the whole band has a dance during the "tuba break" and the tubas do a different dance and its really fun biggrin

Oh man you guys have such cool music. :[
Anyway, I think my favorites have to be Soul Man, 25 or 6 to 4 which we NEVER played when I was at the games (although everyone had the sheet music for it), and Peter Gunn.
We were given copies of Let's Groove, and all the saxes played it as a section solo deal last year, but not this year. It was pretty sick.

It was pretty sick. hey! we have let's groove too, but we never play it. they did it for the new people-orientation last year (they meet everyone and then play a march and a pep band song) but they never played it for games sad and apparently we actually play some of the same music that the marine corps party band does...there was this fleet week band challenge in SF we went to, and after the awards and stuff, the party band decided to play some songs, and they started playing brooklyn and everyone in our band who still had their instruments went up and started playing with them (this was after they played a jazzy song and had one of our trumpets come up and solo...) and everyone else ran back to the busses to get theirs back out. then we played one of our songs and they all just IMPROV-ed it!! holy crap they were amazing...anyways that was like one of the best parts of this year biggrin

Some are...
Crazy Train, Final Countdown, Poker Face, Just Dance, and Oh No!!
I especially love the very slow R&B songs we make up. Each song, we have our own dance to.
