Find
Glory
In a song that rings true
Truth like a blazing fire

How many days had it been? How many weeks had it been? Denahi didn’t know. All he knew was that the Kusini lands were in trouble. Sometimes he thought why he should care, but other times he just believed he should do what was right; but he knew that he wasn’t the leader type. Look at the life he had endured, becoming a King was definitely not on his bucket list. The charcoal lion sighed as he trudged through the roguelands. He had left the Kusini lands earlier that day, remembering the paths through the ghost forest easily from traveling them as a child. He shouldn’t stay out here long, but he just had to get away….if just for a day or two. He needed time to think, everything was settling on him way too quickly.

Her paws were weary from a long journey, one she never thought she'd see the end of. Well, she wasn't at the end YET, not even close. Her trip would be over when she returned home. For now, she sunk her paws into grasses that felt... Right. Like a distant, ancestral sensation of something familiar.

When she spotted the charcoal lion, and the brown mane, she had a sense of... Familiarity? She wasn't sure what to call it. But she felt no fear of an unknown face, as she simply walked toward him. "Hello! A good day to be out and about, isn't it?"

Denahi was lost in thought as the lioness approached him. The elder lion glanced at the female. Now, in his younger days, Nahi would probably scoff at the female, give a death glare, and walk away; but he had really too much going on to even think twice of harmful action.

His bright blue eyes peered at the lioness who had approached him. He did not smile, nor did he frown. His eyes told a story as he stared right into her blue eyes. He had seen those eyes before. Are you trying to tell me something, mother? he wanted to gaze to the sky to speak with his mother (the stories always spoke of the great kings being up there, why shouldn’t queens be also considered?), but he didn’t want to break the eye contact with this female.

Finally, he managed to glance away. “I guess,” he said quietly.

“Err..sorry,” He turned back towards her. “It’s been a long day.” A long life was more like it.

"Oh..." One ear flicked back, before rejoining the other in facing the male. "Maybe you should rest. It sounds like you could use it." She stopped not far from him, just far enough that, if need be, she could turn and run. Not that she could outrun him, though. She'd heard the stories of male lions racing across the grassland and outpacing most females. "What lands are these? I can smell a border near here..."

Denahi nodded as the female spoke. He /should/ rest, but the thoughts on his mind stopped him from doing so. He flashed just a small grin, but it dropped as soon as it could be seen. “I should…and probably will when I go back home,” heh. Home. It still was strange to call the Kusini lands home once more… It would be even stranger hearing those in the pride call him King. (That was, if the pride members even saw him as that. They might still consider him Murderer.)

“The Kusini’Mwezi borders are not too far from here, just to the East, where a vast forest lies.” He knew the Kilango’ta border well, the ‘ghost forest’ as it was known from inside the pride. “Many lions reside within the lands, but we are not hostile towards strangers.”

The continuous prodding in his brain had caused the lion to speak again. “…You’re eyes…they look…so familiar.” Like he had met them before. “Tell me, Who are you?”
