Apparently Call of Duty:MW3 is in development. Activision may have also brought in Sledgehammer Games to help with Singleplayer and Raven Software to help with Multiplayer. Rumored to be out by this November.

Do you think that it can stand up to it's predecessors or EA Games's Battlefield 3? What are your thoughts on this.

I am pretty out of the loop with the FPS genre games these days. I didn't know they were planning on a Modern Warfare 3 OR a Battlefield 3.
Hopefully they do something new to spruce things up. I played the BulletStorm demo and it was plenty fun with all the unique weapons and ways to kill your enemies.

Yeah, Battlefield 3 is coming out during the Holidays for sure. It should be interesting since it'll have 24-player multiplayer on console and a massive 64-player limit on PC.

MW3 has been announced and chances are it will be released November this year since they've turned into an annual franchise. >.> I only wish they would make the game a bit more "refreshing"... at this point every Call of Duty is almost exactly the same.

I'd be happy with MW3 if it added zombie modes and bots to play with on offline Multiplayer.

Also, perhaps having vehicles in multiplayer modes? like in Battlefield...

MW3 will have no zombies sadly...From what I saw at E3, the campaign is just another generic FPS campaign, however all of the leaked info about the multiplayer tells me that it should be pretty solid. Of course only a few perks and killstreaks have been leaked. One thing in particular is that apparently a gun can now have up to three different attachments and from the gameplay demo at E3, you can have two different sights on your weapon (I.E. a red dot sight and a reflex sight) as well as a mag attachment (dual mag was the one in the vid) This means weapon customization will be a very important part of this game.

From what I see, it's just another half-assed game. Yes, I will say, it will likely be a good game. However, a good game does not mean it isn't half-assed. Look at the team that Activision has at its disposal. It is truly beautiful. That is, until you realize, that they are only releasing a bunch of games to please the frat crowd.
Now, let's think of what it would be like if everyone actually took the effort to make a great game, instead of just reaching some ridiculous November-ish deadline each year. Call of Duty is wonderful, but with the team power Activision has at its disposal, it could be so much better.

Yes. If they wanted to they could make a great game. The problem is they know they don't have to. Look at Black Ops. It was the best selling game EVER and when it first came out they might as well called it beta testing.

Pft. Weapon customization in MW3. They need to look at what Ghost Recon is doing in their new game. Now that is interactivity and customization.
