http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9420000/9420856.stmQuote: The head of National Public Radio network in the US, Vivian Schiller, has resigned after it emerged that the organisation's chief fundraiser was secretly filmed making disparaging remarks about US conservatives. These are difficult times for NPR, the closest thing the US has to the BBC, as Republicans in Congress try to cut funding for public broadcasting. It's not really a secret that NPR was pushing for the Left. What is surprising is that it should be considered a bad thing. Isn't hate normal for them?

The thing that makes The USA's news different, is that we don't have rules saying you can be fired if you express a bias other than just the facts, from what I've heard the BBC has this.
That gives any station in the USA the ability to lean to either side.

I suppose a government-funded station ought to be as unbiased as possible, so that it can represent all the people, but these days, it doesn't seem likely.

Our country is going down the gutter, simply because the Administration for the people now controls the people.
I think the NPR head realized this, saw it in action, and didn't want to be part of it, myself.
It would be cool if some president declared martial law, absolved the Senate, and The Juducial branch, then remade them, appointing normal everyday people each of many differentiating political views as possible, then un-declare martial law.

That would make for an interesting war game plot, but in real life, untenable. Politicians who are granted power on a temporary basis never let it go. The Presidency has been gaining more and more power over the last 100 years. I'm not sure how fair elections are..it might as well be martial law. Remember that Shepherd Fairey "Hope" poster? That was like the giant posters of leaders that the people wave in the streets of China, Italy, Russia, wherever over-powerful leaders are. We're very close to doing that.

I think Obama would have been an amazing president, when it wasn't depression/wartime.
Just my opinion, certain presidents do better in certain areas.
