When the last bit of light had finally dropped below the horizon, the bright silver ball finally made her appearance. Around her, twinkling stars danced around their mother, adding just a meager amount of light to the land. Tonight was one of those nights were it just seemed especially darker for some reason. It was this fact, the night-colored lion was even more pleased to come out of his hiding spot. As soon as the last of the orange glow from the sun was gone, white paws quickly dashed across the land. He loved the night, he loved stalking prey in the dark with just the light of the moon. Others may sleep during this time, but Ammon’nen was not one of those.
It was this reason that gray eyes were rather shocked when he saw another, almost starch white female, travel across the lands. He knew he had never seen this other before, because the pride was still rather small. Even though Nen traveled only at night, those he did happen to speak with would update him on the happenings of the pride. This stranger was never brought up in the conversations.
Now, Nen wasn’t a scout, but he certainly didn’t like others roaming into the land when they weren’t suppose to. He followed the other female lion (who was actually quite large in size, it was rather strange), deciding to just watch from the shadows of what he would do before making himself known.
Gwenhwyfar had been staring up at the stars, watching them as they played a scene before her eyes. The stars looked to be dancing, twinkling and shining in the darkness. She smiled. Mortals had such gorgeous landscapes to see. It was one of the reasons why she preferred this realm over the Haven.
When the female did not even acknowledge the sounds of Nen walking up to her, he decided it was time to make his presence known. He coughed slightly, getting the other male’s attention as he watched the other’s stare continuously at the sky. “You do know you have wandered into a pride-land territory, do you not young m'am?” She was full grown, but still it was only a courtesy to address her as such. Nen was unsure of the other's age, but only assumed she was younger.
The moving pictures in the sky vanished as soon as Ammon’nen spoke. “I was watching that,” Gwen said rather haughtily, before biting her tongue. Shee had wandered into another’s territory? Must have been a pretty good show if she hadn’t noticed. “Sorry bout that,” she murmured, looking down on the other lion. He was small. "You look like you feel from the sky."
Nen shook his head, “I highly doubt that.”
Gwen shrugged, lifting herself up. "She showed her true size, standing taller than Ammon'nen.
“You do realize though where you are?” The ghost lion asked, shifting on his paws.
Gwen nodded. “Course I do. The stars led me here. They twinkled a beauty of a land. Must be true. Is your land as beautiful as they say?" She tried to downplay the mortal, speaking in a way to try an confuse the male.
“You’re crazy. You shouldn’t be here either.” Ammon’nen did not know what this other lioness was talking about. He had heard of lions ‘seeing’ things before, but the stars were most certainly unable to lead someone to a place.
“No worries sir. I will be on my way. You know, you should look to the sky sometimes. You might see what I am talking about." She looked up to the sky. The question now was, where should she go? She had been in multiple different lands that none just drew out the need to go. "See you around," Gwen said quietly, as she began to walk off.
Ammon’nen did not speak, he just watched the female carefully. He gazed at the sky, the stars not moving as she had indicated. His thoughts on his pride came to mind. The ghost pride was becoming just that, a ghost. Nen frowned as he followed the female out of the lands. He wanted to make sure she didn’t slip back around, not that she seemed to have any interest or usefulness for being in the area.
"I promise I am leaving," Gwen said quietly to ammon'nen. "You don't have to follow me you know. What’s your name anyways?"
“…Shouldn't you introduce yourself first for wandering upon these lands?”
“I guess.." The goddess paused, turning her head with a smile." I’m Gwenhwyfar. I am a goddess, and I reside over the domain Fidelity." She let the words sink in, noting the almost flabbergasted face on the male. She almost laughed at the reaction. She didn't always tell someone up front she was a deity, but it was always fun when she sprang the news up out of the blue.
…He really hadn’t asked for detail about the female, but Ammon’nen did appreciate a name. ... Wait...Did she say she was a Goddess? His jaw dropped as he blinked. "I...I am called Nen..." He seemed to stutter, cauing the chuckle from the deity before him.“I am just called Nen.”
"Well, Nen." Gwen smirked. "Pleasure to meet you. I apologize for intruding on your land. I promise I will not do such an event again." She bowed her head, wishing she had wings to take off. Alas, she lacked that particular feature of God-hood. Instead, she bobbed her head, teleporting away, leaving no sign of her presence to the male before her.
Nen blinked. One moment the lioness was here. The next...she was gone? He looked around, not quite thinking that she was what she said she was. But, the proof was right there, or...lack thereof. Ammon'nen glanced at the sky, noticing for the first time the small twinkling of lights. He frowned, trying to glance around one more time before he sighed in defeat. He would need to head home soon but the lingering question in his mind was:
Was she really there?
