Clermeilli-Pie tried not to think too much on how well the dead snake she was hauling in was going to go over. It was edible, but she was not sure if that point would go over well in the first place, let alone when the story of how she got it went around. Something told her that the fact that she nearly got pinned by an angry python was going to get her some stern words. She was just grateful that Koehro had shown up to help clean up that mess.
She was not sure if another hunter would have been as much use as the warrior had been in killing an aggressive snake that wanted to crush someone to death, but that was just her opinion on the matter. The fact that the thing was an African Rock Python, not the most common of them to find in their forests, also would get some attention and explained the aggressiveness of the creature.
Clerm was a little smaller than most of the full blooded Na'vi so the 26 foot long python weighed her down a bit as she headed home. She had managed to take the high path for a while, but as she had gotten closer to Hometree, she had to go down onto the jungle floor to travel. The stupid snake had kept catching on things and needed to be readjusted too often. Now, snake hanging off her back, Clerm was heading into Home Tree to report.

Kaym'itan moved along the high route, his paws making no sound as he stalked the upper branches of the trees. Keen crimson eyes swept the ground below him, and what he caught a glimpse of made him stop dead in his tracks.
It was Clem, and she was dragging what had to be one of the largest pythons he had ever seen. Only one other time had he laid eyes on an African Rock Python, during the war, when he and Toruk had fallen into a pit ambush set by the invading lions. It had been a vicious battle, and they had only just surrived. Seeing the petite female hauling the twenty-six foot giant behind her, made all his protective instincts flare to life, and with them anger.
Jumping down from the trees, he landed in front of her, a snarl building that he forced down, though when he spoke his voice was filled with a barely contained growl, and each word was clipped, " What. Do. You. Think. You. Are. Doing?"

Clermelli-Pie was just about ready to drop the damn snake and stopped to readjust it. All she had to do was take it inside hometree now. She was not expecting Kaym to land in front of her, let alone look so agitated. She might even call it angry. She was not sure she wanted to find out why, but she certainly would not argue giving him an answer with the way he sounded just now. She was too tired to argue much anyway, but still, his anger took her off guard and made her wary.
"I am hauling in a snake... I did not wish to see it go to waste after it had to be killed today..." Clerm pauses for a moment. She hoped very much that she did not sound short with him. She was tired, panting a bit from how heavy the thing was and that it had taken nearly all day to drag back here. The last thing she needed was to get short with someone because of her discomfort. "It is a long story why." She pulled the snake back up onto her back and arranged it that it was not slipping again.
"Can I relate it after I set the dead snake down inside where someone can make use of it so it is not a waste?" Truthfully, she just wanted to set the damn thing down and collapse beside it for a little while, her insisting to bring it back on her own had not been the brightest idea. That would teach her to be stubborn. "If you want the short version right now, I managed to get pinned in a tree by it and Koehro came along and helped me kill it before it killed me."

The king was above the two in the jungle trees of their home. He was not paying much attention at first, as he was not one to eaves drop. He lay across the thick branch, his paws swinging down like vines themselves. He had been enjoying a moment of two by himself since the birth of the children. They were a joy. They filled the pride with a sense of happiness and hope. He loved them. Yet he was a bit overwelmed.
It was a conflict to him. Feeling as though his time was growing short. He sighed, swatting a fly from his eyes. His ear swiveled at the small talk down below, something he could barely hear as he was pretty high up. However, when he leaned over to see whom was speaking below, his eyes widened at the sight he took in.
Clermelli? A snake? Had she been attacked? He felt his fur bristling at the thought. He started a quick descent, not bothering to be quiet about it. Crashing and branches breaking announced his presence before his paws hit the ground. "Clermelli-pie!" He said sternly. "Are you alright?"

Kamy'itan's ruff bristled, and he found himself gritting his teeth hard enough to make his jaw hurt, " You got pinned? What in Eywa's name were you doing hunting alone? For the love of ......" his growling admonishment was cut short by the arrival of the king.
Being more angry then sensible at the moment, Kaym'itan turned to look at the black lion, " Oh, she's alright Sire, but not for the lack of trying to get herself killed. Look at that thing." He jabbed a paw at the dead snake as he moved over to pull it off of her.
" I swear Clem, you know better. The jungle is not safe, not for those of us who were born and raised here, less for those new to the lands, or do you think I wear my paws bare every night just because I like WALKING!"
The large Night Scout was not pleased, and it was clear he considered the younger huntress much like a sister, maybe because he had lost his own brutally. It could also be why he was so angered with her carelessness.

Clerm had been much shorter with Kaym than she intended. That had probably not helped his mood any. She should have stopped herself before the 'short' version part of her reply. Not her brightest move when dealing with a dear friend. Of course, she was tired from dragging a heavy snake, so that related some of it. She looks down at where the snake's head was about half chewed off. She had chewed through the thing's spine to make sure it died, and the fact that she had drug this thing as far as she did and was not covered in blood from that hanging severed head was probably a small miracle.
It probably also did not look healthy to the others that the snake was in such a state. She took a deep breath and prepared to answer the king when Kaym opened his mouth. Yup, she had ticked him off with her quip. You could hear it in his voice. She would have to take the time to unruffle his fur about this. He was a dear for worrying about her, but she really had already gotten one lecture about the goings on already. She was too tired to endure two more so soon, or so she thought. Clerm set the snake down for a moment and looked at the two males.
Did she dare try to be humorous about this situation? Most likely not, but humor was her way of not getting upset about things. "My king, I am fine. I know this does not look the best to come in with such a big snake, but unfortunately today was not my lucky day in some respects, and in others it was." She turns her attention back to Kaym and sighs. "I have hunted alone pretty much since I got here. I am not comfortable with most of the other hunters, so I go out as I am used to alone. I have hunted many different kinds of terrain in my days, Kaym, so to me hunting this is not so hard even if you would like to think so."
"Try being raised near a swamp and tell me how hard your jungles are to navigate. They have trees, underbrush and lots of puddles and sinkholes." Clerm raised a paw to keep the others from interrupting. She had a bit more to say. "I know that it is not advised to hunt alone and that will be corrected now as I know of another lioness that needs a partner for hunting. Koehro stepped in to help me today, and he is going to speak to his sister about hunting with me." She looked over at the snake and gave a shrug. "Truthfully, I have only ever faced one of those before since they are usually found in rocky areas. The other one was not as aggressive as this one. If I had been able to simply remain in my cover that I had, I would have."
"Mistakes are things that everyone makes... I have made more than a few in my time, and I have been stuck in more than a few situations where I could not avoid doing something that either of you might call stupid in order to survive. I learned a long time ago, that one should not regret the necessity of what their paws are forced on but do it and learn from it." Clerm finally fell silent for the males to speak. She knew she was in for a lecture from them yet, but she would let them speak just as she had had her turn to speak. It was only fair.

Eytucan looked sternly to Clerm and shook his head. "You could have gotten killed..." He said with his eyes narrowed. As she spoke, he sat and listened as he felt he should, not nodding his head or shaking his head or showing anything other than his worry for his friend and pride member. When she stopped and sat back, ready to be yelled at; he sighed. "I know you didn't mean to worry anyone Clermelli'pie... But you must realize that this pride has lost a lot in the last few years; and to lose a precious member to a snake would have been too much for many of us to take..." He said, knowing that his words were true..
He looked to the snake and walked up to snake and gave it a quick once over, sniffing it and prodding it with his paw; his stern look still present. He cleared his throat and sat back, a small smile crawling across his face. "I think we can probably feed a few with this snake." He turned and made it obvious that he wasn't nearly as mad anymore. He bent down and grabbed it, lifting it to 'weigh' the thing for a moment
