ive noticed as of late since ive started playing tennis again... my serve is kinda slow, i dont think its fast at all (that being said i can track motion easy) but its really slow probably about 10mph, im 16 and thats super slow for my age, but my forehand and back hand is quite fast, so do you i need to work my serve up or what? do you think my forehand and back hand speed will cover the slow serve?
and if i should work on my serves how do i go about fast serve training?

well for my advice: when you practice, serve the ball softly into the receiving square. and after each successful serve, hit the next serve harder. then the next one harder and so on. but dont serve a harder ball unless u've made the serve in. the trick with this is the repetitive serving motion which helps serves alot.
next i would say to build up shoulder strength (not exactly sure)how to do that but im sure the internet knows =P) maybe since you havent played in a while and uve grown since then, ur body isnt shaped for tennis yet. and the only way to put ur body back into tennis shape would be to play tennis very often and exercise separate from tennis also(maybe some running or swimming(not during winter though xD))
for a girl my serve is strong, but not accurate. before a game i have to do that ritual of serving softly, then harder, then harder. it helps me alot though.
and good luck
