There are some great matches coming up in the world of MMA soon. I want to see what your predictions for them will be. We'll start with the closest match.
Liddell vs Couture 3 - The first match was won by Couture, the second by Liddell. I can't wait for it this weekend. This can go either way. But I see Liddell knocking Couture out late in the 2nd round.
Here are matches a little way off, not too long though.
Hughes vs Gracie - I am very excited for this match. It's the UFC legend vs the UFC Middleweight champion. I hope Gracie takes it, but I'm not sure he will. Hughes is in great shape and is a great champion. But he does not do well against submission style fighters, so it could go either way.
Ortiz vs Franklin - This is gonna be interesting. Ortiz though heavily critized is still no matter what anyone says a great figher. He last 2 losses were to Couture and Liddell. Then we have another current UFC champion. He was the man to take down Ken Shamrock. Even though Franklin is a good fighter, I don't see him beating Ortiz.
Shamrock vs Ortiz 2 - This is gonna be one heck of a grudge match. These 2 fighters hate each other. They both will also coach the Ultimate Fighter 3. I see Ortiz once again beating Shamrock. Ken Shamrock is possibly one of the greatest fighters ever, and my personal favorite. He is just too old now to be fighting anymore.
Mir vs Arlovski - Even though it hasen't been announced yet, it will no doubt happen. Frank Mir was the heavyweight champion, but it was taken away after his motorcycle accident. Andre Arlovski is the current heavyweight champ. I could see it going both ways, both are great submission fighters.
Penn vs Hughes - BJ Penn was the UFC middleweight champ until he and Dana White (president of the UFC) got into an argument. He left and fought in in Japan. Hughes lost to Penn before and I see it happening again.
Now with all the info, what do you predict will happen in these matches?

When Hughes faces Penn, I honestly don't see him beating Penn. Penn has always been the better fighter and Hughes has a bad record against submission fighters. I bet he'll lose his title.

Coulture Liddell 3 is gonna be great. I love both fighters, but I am slightly leaning towards Coulture. I see him doing a lot more groundwrok this time.
I'll take Hughes over Gracie. The gracies just haven't evolved with the sport. They're still strong, but I thing Hughes will come out on top.
I hate Tito ortiz. I don't like his attitude, but he is a great fighter. Franklin has been on a roll and has taken down top flight fighters. I'll pick Franklin. Ortiz will underestimate him.
As much as I love and respect Ken Shamrock, I don't think he can compete at the level of the current top dogs. I'd love to see him kick Ortiz's a**, but unless he alters his training anf tactics I can't see him winning.
Battle of the heavyweights. We've been waiting for this for a long time. I'm seeing a second round knockout. i don't see it going to the ground, at least, not as the deciding factor. I'm picking Arlovski.
Matt Hughes is incredible, but if anyone can beat him, it'll be Penn. This'll be a great match up and one for the highlight reels. i'll be cheering for Hughes, but don't know if he'll pull it out.

Good call on the Coulture/Lidell fight. Second round just like you said. Good fight. Randy's slip make just the opening Chuck needed and Liddell only needs one opening.
Mir's fight was disappointing. He needs a lot more time before he'll be anywhere near ready for Arlovski.
On to next month...
Franklin versus Loiseau. I love Loiseau, love watching him fight, but Franklin has been getting more impressive with every match. This is gonna be a great one and another gut check for Franklin. This will go to the third round, but I see Franklin finishing it.
Penn versus St. Pierre. St. Pierre, all the way. All take him over everyone in that weight class. He's beast.
