This is for all the GPGers who are crafty. Maybe you sew, work with yarn, paint, make things out of popsicle sticks, etc, and would like to show off projects you're working on or finished or maybe you just want to talk about what you do or get help from others who may have some knowledge in the area.
It's always nice to have others to chat with about your projects and to have someone to show them off to.
Wow us with your talents. mrgreen

Yippy crafts! I'm a pshyco scrapbooker. I'd love to share layout ideas. I also "crochet", not so good at itand other various crafts. I can't wait to some of the stuff you guys have made. I think this is a great idea. 3nodding

I think so too: I do a bit of quilting and am trying to learn how to knit, so we'll see how this goes.

I waited a bit to post to make sure this was opened. I didn't want to jump the gun.
I crochet. I usually make scarves and blankets. I have also made a whole bunch of crocheted cat toys, but I haven't done that in awhile. I put catnip inside of them. Kudzu loves them.
I also painted pictures for Zoe's room. They are watercolor picture of animals with letters. (Zebra, Ostrich, Elephant) I still need to get them framed so I can hang them up.
I really want to learn to sew and make patterns. I took a couple of costuming classes in college and learned just enough about designing to make me dangerous. I wish I had someone around to help guide me through sewing. I have a machine; I just need to learn how to use it. Finding time for it is difficult with a baby though.

I would honestly like to learn some things so I can try to make something neat! I lack all the resources though and have like two left thumbs. Although I've tried my hand at crossstiching!

Jools My Mum is really into card making and scrapbooking arty stuff. We have decided to make a scrapbook together for guests to look through at the wedding. It is a book of Jeff and I as we grew up. So far we have done 8 pages, I will eventually post the whole book on here, but here are the first 2 pages, these are baby pictures: What do you think? I just wondered if anyone else does scrapbooking and if so, do you have any interesting suggestions we can try? So far we have framing, decoupage, stencilling, embossing but need some fresh ideas!

Thanks for moving my post, I didn't notice this thread, my apologies! Thanks Sarah, I'm pretty pleased with it, being that it's our first attempt at scrapbooking whee Have you got any pics of what you have done with scrapbooks?

I'm going to give knitting a go, I'm a bit intriqued and really want to make something gift wise for people as well. Although I have a probably really dumb question, lol.
What is the difference between knitting and crotcheing?

Tools used, pretty much I think. Though you need a crochet hook when knitting from time to time as well.
I've started work on a scarf and not failed yet so hopefully in a few days I'll have a project done and can post a picture.

Knitting is a bit tougher, you have to knit and purl. Crochet is just loop, loop, loop. Knitting takes two needles, crochet one hook. The weave comes out different, too. I choose to learn crochet because knitting seemed to confusing for the likes of me. I think knitting looks more useful though, I don't see a lot of adult clothing that is crocheted. (I could be wrong though)
