Sample Update:
“Baa!”
“Maa!”
“Oh, will you be quiet?!” Moseley snapped at the sheep milling stupidly around his hill. The peace of the afternoon was being broken by their discordant bleating. He groaned as he rested his head against the tree, having found the lone source of solace from the sun in the pasture. He’d finally managed to find some peace and quiet outside of the town, away from the chaos and confusion of village life, and he’d only found it in a field of noisy, smelly sheep. At least, he mused, it wasn’t a field of goats- after all, their horns could sting. Still, it didn’t seem so bad, even with the sheep bleating wildly and running for greener fields to the west. It didn’t do anything for the smell, though. The odor off of those awful animals still stung his nose, almost giving him the shivers. It almost smelled like fresh rotting carcass.
It was only when that realization came to him that he realized that the shade he sat in had gotten much darker. He looked over his shoulder with a shudder to see the face of death under a black robe.
“Your life annoys me,” the Reaper whispered as he raised his sickle…
------------------------------------
“… So they say, life annoys this b*****d!” Unphotographable laughed as he stumbled from the pub. “Can ya believe it? Annoyed by the living! Well, Christ, if that’s what ails ya, maybe he oughta head for north New Jersey! If nothing else, he’ll clear up the shoreline!”
“You’re nothing but a smartass, man,” the man whose shoulder Unphotographable leaned on chortled. “A few too many pints after a tragedy just gets you rolling, eh?”
“Daw, ain’t nothing!” Unphotographable pushed his companion away. “Just me job as the town’s comedian! I live to make people laugh! This place is just so boring, I got nothing to do!”
“Well, you need a stage, don’t you?” The man suggested with a grin.
After only a few moments, Unphotographable found himself on a flat surface, with lights pointing up towards him. He felt a gust of air, like a roar of applause from an audience, and spread his arms. “Yeah, this is the stuff! I’m on top of the world! Just what I need for a real show!”
Two hands landed on his back. “And an excellent show it will be,” the man whispered, and Unphotographable was pushed onto a streetlight, impaling him on the pointed top. The lantern set his hair ablaze.
Perhaps a pint or two less would have helped him realize that ‘on top of the world’ was just the roof of the pub, and that to a Saboteur, nothing is more entertaining than a grisly-but-slapstick death.

The two priests moved swiftly through the streets, fleet as they approached their target. They pulled their pistols as they spotted her, her arms full of grocery bags, and surrounded her, left and right. She froze like a deer in a hunter’s sight as the young and old priest pointed their weapons. She knew what was coming. She threw her groceries aside and dashed into the street, dodging around the horses and carts, and made a beeline for the haberdashery. Unfortunately, as quick as she was, the young priest was quicker, and he slipped across the street in a flash to pin her to the wall.
“Please don‘t do this!” M e a m e a a pleaded as the old priest caught up and slapped handcuffs on her. “I take one votive candle and you’re all up my a** about it?”
“No complaints, devil! We’ll exorcise the demons from you!” The old priest roared, and the young priest nodded in tacit agreement. The two hauled her away, assuring themselves that they’d certainly found the culprit this time.
Unfortunately, another murder the next day would change their minds.
----------------------------
“Oye! Oye! Reported dead tonight: Moseley and Unphotographable! Their deaths will be somberly mourned by all but accused murderess, M e a m e a a, arrested tonight! Keep your eyes open for suspicious activity, report anything you see to the temple!”
“Oh, shaddup!” Someone threw a can of green beans from a second-story window at the Town Crier and his ringing bell. The Town Crier huffed with annoyance, and rang his bell with more fervor than before.
“In other news, reports around town state that the Reaper has been quoted saying ‘I liked the Spice Girls movie!’ In addition, one member of the Vigilantes team has been seen to say that ‘I always wear red!’ More news tomorrow night…”
Killers:
The Reaper: In lieu of our traditional Sniper, this game will revive a slightly older image of the silent killer dressed in black…
The Saboteur: A Crazed Killer-type who prefers more creative means of causing death, destruction, and mayhem.
Other Roles:
The Town Gossip: He or she seems to have eyes everywhere and doesn’t seem to keep his or her mouth shut about the killers. (The News Reporter. Receives and disseminates clues about the killers.)
The Harlot: The sworn enemy of the Town Gossip, and no big fan of the Vigilantes! He or she would love to see them get their comeuppance… and who better to do it than the local serial killers? (The Dark News Reporter. Receives and disseminates clues about the Gossip and the Vigilantes.)
The Three Vigilantes: Where local law enforcement fails, a group of noble vigilantes will ride in and save the day! … if they feel like it, or if they even know who to save. (G-Teams, three.)
Special Notes:
The Town Crier: Every four rounds, whether or not either the Gossip or the Harlot are dead, an NPC Crier will give clues for both a randomly selected killer and either the Gossip or one of the random Vigilantes. The Town Crier will operate until the population falls below 10 active players.
The Priests: Seeking to exorcise the Reaper and Saboteur of their demons, the Young and Old priest NPCs are in charge of making arrests.
Concept:
In the township of Sniperville, people live peacefully, making their trades, doing their work as they please. However, since the death of the Mana Goddess who blessed their fertile land, life is suddenly not-so-peaceful. Will the townspeople find the real killers before the killers finish their harvest… of blood?
Before moving into Sniperville, all potential residents will state their desired occupation. This will factor in to how their character is played in the written updates.
I'm sure you'll make this into a fun game. =D
