I'm not part of the Pokemon group these days. It pretty much ended after Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Both me and my cousin completed the pokedex along with Mew and Celebi. We breed the living s**t out of everything we had in our storage bin. We constantly pulverized the Elite Four. Yeah. We were pretty much done with the series by then. Found no point in having to collect another 100/200 new pokemon.
If memory serves me correctly, my PK Silver team consisted of: Tyranitar, Ampharos, Gyrados, Typhlosion, Dodrio, and something else. I was aiming to cover as much of the elements as possible to maximize flexibility.

Yes, I agree in a way. Normally I wouldn't care much about collecting pokemon, however once I start playing a new generation of pokemon games. It's for me to walk away. I wanna see what it has to offer. After awhile I do pull myself away from it and I won't touch it for a year. However SoulSilver currently has my attention since it is a remake of my favorite version.

I don't have a DS to play Soul Silver. crying
I'm also a little put off with all the 3D-ish feel that Gamefreak has been doing to the newer generation of Pokemon Games.

I'll have to admit the 3D was strange at first, but I got used to it. You should see Black and White. They've upped the graphics.

Been into pokemon since R/B/Y.
Black and White are in my opinion the best games in the entire series.
I currently have somewhere around 8+ different teams that I run in intervals.
