Caeron- Also known as the Twain-Mountain City, this place is nestled within the mountains to the north. It is considered a holy place, as the sacred White Tree, believed to be the very first tree to be made, rests here. Thousands of pilgrims come to this haven of peace each year, seeking to view the sacred White Tree. It is safe from outside powers, being that it is under the direct protection of the House of Peace. It is ruled by an Archbishop, who is aided by a House of Clerics in maintaining the city's doings.

Adair walked down the alleyway, delivering a message to some of the villagers. She opened up the book in her hand to see how many messages needed delivering. Only three. Adair closed the book and searched aroun until she had delivered each message. She sat down to rest for a few hours before she will start her run again to a different city.

The night was beautiful and the plants swung with joy, the people were in their homes except for the night dwellers such as the drinkers and the night shift people. The darkness filled with the light of the stars over them and the silence with a mystical tone. All spoke of peace and beauty, all until an explosion felt off in the distance where two figures laid on the floor unconscious, two felines. A female panther with most of her clothing ripped up and a male nicatal with his injuries extending from his face down to his feet, armor protecting his torso. Where they were they would not know until they awoke with life on them once again, hoping they would find a way back to the fight they were in.

Adair startled wake from her unexpected sleep. Surprise filled her face then made her face blank. She got up and followed the sound of the explosion. Only a distance away were two figures lying on the ground. One was her race and other was a nitacal. She turned back to leave then hesitated. It's not right. I shouldn't leave. One is even part of my race. But, I have duties. I shouldn't help these low lives. After 5 minutes of debating with herself, she finally decided to help them out only because one was of the same race. She carried them one by one to an abandon cottage and brought out medical things from her bag. Adair tended to them both until there was nothing more she could do.

((Both are sorta your race, one a panther and the other a nicatal, but both are from the neco's... just letting you know))

Both the two felines were unconscious and healed for several hours from the aid of a fellow feline. Night passed by and day twilight as the birds began to chirp and the dew drew the humid wildlife. The first eyes to twitch and open was from Necrom, who was the most injured of the two. He began to make out a ceiling and began to think back how he ended up there. The last thing he remembered was the traveling to Velan to find Jansirma. Then his eyes widened as he remembered the fight with Ohmarow, who imploded the area with Necrom's attack. He remembered being sucked in and as he was swallowed, Miaki grabbed his hand and they both entered. The first thing that Necrom managed to say was "Miaki, and remembered the man in white that aided him in battle. He tried turning his head but it was no use, his body was not fully healed and the pain was unbearable. He wondered if Miaki was alright, not knowing she was merely two inches away from him still unconscious.

Adair only stared at the person who had his eyes opened. Her face was void from all emotion. Her eyes dull, almost lifeless, just kept staring, not even registering the fact that he was a wake. Adair looked...looked almost like a doll. A puppet even. Suddenly, she moved to help the man who had woken up. How are you? She tried to put emotion in her voice, but failed.

Necrom was weak, incapable of even turning his head to see the origins of the voice that spoke. He sense his energy down to the floor and his spiritual energy was even worse. The only thing that he could do was open his mouth and speak, speak to an unknown person he was unable to see. "I cannot see you, but thank you for saving my life. Were you able to find my friends, a black panther wearing black, a human wearing a white suit..." Necrom also went to ask a huge important question, if he was around, then he needed to be killed before it is to late. "How about a human with black armor with yellow eyes carrying a scythe with him?" Necrom feared if she said he was around, for it would mean Necrom would die if he awoke and gets his energy faster than he.

Necrom and Miaki were pulled into a black void, but just a sudden as it sucked them in, it spit them out in the same place they were nearly fifteen minutes later. Necrom was wide awake and his eyes were stairing into space, knowing now that his true enemy was not the only thing he had to deal with, but now his rival. Necrom felt he could move and began to lift his body. He began to lift his head and see the room he was in before. His gaze then turned to a Neko he had never met. He then looked at Miaki who was still unconscious and looked unstable. Necrom turned his gaze back at the Neko and asked how is her condition. Then lifted his hand to go into his pocket and if he had any other medical treating pills, but he was all out of any. He closed his eyes and tried to draw in energy in order to regain his strength, but that would take time and he needed to start his adventure as soon as possible.

Random Encounter: Vanguard Beetle

Kai burst into the valley of the Twain-Mountain city with a cry of triumph, only to be met with the startled buzzing of a large bug-warrior of some kind. The buzzing changed quickly though, from startled, to angry, and then it began lumbering towards her.

Kai groaned. First moment here, and already things were getting in her way. She could try to outrun the creature, but then it might call more members of its swarm or hive or whatever to come after her. She could only hope that the bugs here were as easy to deal with as the ones in Sayatea. Kai bounded at the bug, growling with annoyance, and reared back, claws extending, glinting in the sunlight like knives as she prepared to slash at the creature.

Creature fled.

Her claws sank into the thick armor of the bug warrior and tore it right off. The bug squealed, a horrible, grating noise that made Kai seal off her ears in sheer self-preservation, and backed up frantically, shedding what remained of its armor and unfurling its wings.

It took to the air with more speed than she would have expected of such a large and bulky creature, and Kai took half a moment to decide if she should try hunting it down, or run off, hopefully before it managed to get over its fear and perhaps call the rest of its swarm.

In the end, it was no contest. She fled. Kai had no time to be off on a wild goose chase, or bug chase as the case might be. Besides, she might end up running right into the swarm in question if she chased the creature. She needed to cross through the entire length of Caeron in order to get to Caran, and time was wasting.

Caught sight of rare indigenous species

Kai streaked though the valley in a flurry of pounding hooves as her mane streamed behind her. She wasn’t wholly a horse at the moment, retaining her distinctly hyenine head, and a certain wolfishness about her torso, but she definitely looked quite equine as well.

She startled a strange, striped, gazelle-like creature from where it was grazing, and it bolted, running with her for a little while before swiftly outpacing her and vanishing off into the distance. She tried shifting her form to be more like that of the gazelle-creature, hoping to acquire its speed and make her way across Caeron that much quicker, but evidently she wasn’t able to feel quite panicked or prey-like enough. Snorting irritably, Kai raced on at the best speed she could maintain without getting winded.

Nothing happened

More than halfway across Caeron now, and still nothing else had appeared to delay her. Kai began to feel cautiously optimistic. Perhaps her speed and perpetual motion was deterring the worst of the predators of this land. She heard that most predators liked to take their prey unawares. They would prefer to at least try pouncing on grazing prey before such prey got startled into full flight. Much as Kai would prefer to stalk and hunt instead of running like prey, she had a mission to accomplish and she could not fail. Just a little more, one final leg across this land, and she would be at Caran, ready to carry out the will of the family.

Nothing happened

Kai got out of the valley and down the mountain without any further incident, and could hardly believe her luck. It was amazing that she might had gotten attacked at the very instant she first entered Caeron, and yet had a completely uneventful journey the rest of the way. The gods must be smiling on her, to let her reach her destination hardly winded at all and with not a scratch on her. She would be able to bring her absolute best to bear for the family then!

Ahead, she could see the sprawling metropolis of the dead, but she was still technically within Caeron as she stopped way outside Caran’s limits as she oriented herself, looking for a particular rock formation. Her mistress had told her of a secret tunnel somewhere around here, one that would lead her right into the city without her having to bother any authorities about her passage. Somewhere between the rock that looked like a bear, and the one that looked like a deer… Ah, there it was.

She slipped into the hidden tunnel and hurried down and onwards, eyes shining like lamps to help her see better in the dark. Long before she should have gotten to Caran though, she found piles of rubble blocking her way, and a jagged hole in the floor that seemed to lead into nothing but fathomless darkness.

Kai considered her options. She could go all the way back up the tunnel and try to sneak into Caran some other way, or she could try this route and hope it got her to Caran that much faster. Kai looked down into the darkness, back up the way she’d come, and then back at the giant, jagged hole in the floor.

For just a moment, she grinned once more, a touch wryly, and then she jumped, wings unfurling behind her with barely a whisper as she glided silently into the darkness.
