For once, Myr had no homework, or anything to do, mainly because of the field trip he was sure, but he wasn't about to complain about his luck. It wasn't often that he had that sort of luck anyway, and so, he was just enjoying hanging around in the Reaper common area.

It didn't matter if anyone else dropped by, he would be content just hanging by himself, but he could use a chance to meet some of the other reapers. He just didn't know as many of those as he did the other races, which was kind of sad, considering that he was a reaper.

He was sitting in one of the chairs, petting his familiar. He really didn't want to unsummon him, but rules were rules, but it didn't have to happen yet. Not until right before he got onto the boat.

A golden haired reaper desended the stairs towards the common room, her golden eyes looking for a free chair to have a read in. In her arm was a book about animating cooking utensils for easier cooking. She pushed a lock of hair from her eyes as she sighed. Lilura had decided to read out of her dorm. Apparently Cloak and Tortalo were having an arguement and she couldn't stand to listen to them talk about how satin made for nicer animates while cotton was too rough.

She noticed a white haired reaper petting his familiar near by. She hadn't met him before, he must be new. Or she didn't get out enough. Most likely both. She smiled and nodded to him.

"Hello, I haven't seen you around before. I'm Lilura."

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Lilura. I am Ilztmyr'ree, but please, call me Myr. My full name's a bit of a mouthful."

He also didn't recognize the other reaper, but that wasn't all that much of a surprise; he knew Colette, through class, and perhaps one or two others, but overall, he just didn't have a tendency to mingle with his own class. Perhaps it was the blue skin thing.

"Have you been here long?" She was probably wondering the same thing about him, and he offered her the same information freely."I've been here since just after the Christmas Town mess.

"Nice to meet you as well Mry," she smiled in a friendly manner. At least he was nice. Most reapers she had met were so she didn't know why she ahd been worried. She took a seat on an automan near the chair, placing her book on her lap.

"Oh I've been here for awhile. My magic sometimes puts me out of commission so I have missed some classes," she blushed a bit as she said that. Her magic could be quite dangerous depending on what she tried to animate. That tea pot had burned her. The mousetrap left a lovely scar on her finger. Not to mention the lovely black eye she had gotton from an errant casketball.

She looked a his familiar with a small smile. She often wondered what it would have been like to have a familiar rather than a weapon. Granted Tortalo was as alive as any familair could be but she suspected it was still quite different. "Your familiar is very cute."

He chuckled. "You too?" It was reassuring to know that he wasn't the only one to have problems controlling their magic, although he doubted that it was for the same reason. Most people's Fear ability didn't tend to work against them. Still, he didn't want her to take the wrong meaning from his statement, and he elaborated a bit. "I mean, I have trouble at times also."

Understatement. He has it.

He smiled at her. "So, what kind of Reaper are you? I'm a Warlock."

At being called cute, Sneak looked at her, sniffing the air. She didn't seem to be a threat, and he curled back up on Myr's lap. He wasn't looking forward to being unsummoned either. "This is Sneak." The ferret did have another name, but that was between the two of them. "He's not the most vocal of familiars."

Lilura smiled as the ferret looked at her. He was cute and didn't seem to consider something to pay attention to. That was ok. It was also nice to know other reapers had trouble with their magic.

"Oh I'm an animator reaper. I can bring inanimate man made objects to life. Its a specialty of my family," she smiled. "What kind of warlock magic do you do? Hexes? Demonology?" Lilura had no warlocks in her family, only mages of elemental powers. She wondered how they worked their magic or if it was hereditary like hers.

At the mention of vocal familiars she smirked. "I have a weapon, not a familiar but he's more talkative than you would think. Sometimes more than you want," she giggled. Tortalo would not be happy if he knew she was talking about him like this but it was true. "I have a scythe my great-grandmother gave me. She was sort of old fashion thinking all reapers should care one."

"Hexes mostly, although I'd like to study some demonology. I think that'd be something my family would approve of." His family wasn't particularly magically inclined, just a couple of uncles, but it did pop up enough that he wasn't that much of a surprise.

"We don't have any specialties, I don't think. I've got a pair of uncles who are Necromancers, but since I'm not, I don't think it's genetically passed down." He chuckled. "I can imagine. Probably full of advice that he wants you to take but you don't really want to."

It was bad enough taking advice from his familiar, he couldn't imagine what it would be like carrying around a weapon that did the same. "Did you want a Sythe? Or was it one of those family presents that you either take or die?"

Lilura listened as the boil described his own magic talents and the ones in his family. Hexes and necromancers. Interesting. She often wondered what it would be like to cast other types of magics.

When he asked the question about her scythe she smirked a bit but her eyes got a little far away. She remembered her first memory of seeing Tortalo, or more accurately her reflection in his blade. He had spoken gently to her, for she had been crying. His voice was soothing, something she felt immediately comforted by, and she stopped crying. Since then she had always been with him.

"No, my great-grandmother was the last "All Animator". The one animator in our family who could animate anything. When my pumpkin was made, she felt the power in it. She knew when I was born, it would be her time to go," her golden eyes were soft but held happiness, "So she created Tortalo as a guardian and mentor. She taught him all she knew about her abilities and spells so he could help me when she was gone. He's been there ever since I came out of my pumpkin."

That was sweet, and he couldn't help but smile. "Sounds like she really loved you."

He could understand that, but now, he wasn't really sure where their conversation should go. "Are you enjoying your classes?" he asked, a minute later. "I've not actually had any of the magic ones yet, but all of the other classes that I've got are fairly interesting."

He smirked. That was one way to put it. "I have to admit, I am looking forward to this upcoming field trip though. It's like they're giving us our own mini-vacation from classes." Of course, he was half expecting the whole thing to explode in their faces, much like the Christmas trip had, but he was determined to make the best of it.
