I just got the new Pokemon (White: that's the one that has the awesome-looking black creature on the cover that's only available in it) and I often get stuck for names. I imagine that the rest of you do at times as well, if you play Pokemon.
Here you can post name ideas for Pokemon. I'm mostly interested in hearing what Pokemon you would like to bear your name (either your Gaia name or otherwise, but please specify).

haha, White too? I went up to pre-order it and the guy behind the counter suggested that one so I said sure.

For me, it would be cool if you used Sereniti for Purrloin(I love it's evolved form) or meowth(again heart for the evolved form)

I'm starting to believe that there may not be any way for the old ones to be caught... Maybe I can't bring my Pokemon from Soul Silver or Platinum. Hm... Does anyone know anything about this?
It's so funny. I almost used your name when I was thinking of what to name my female Purrloin, yesterday, but my friend Alex is the most catlike person that I have ever known, and the way Purrloin was described sounded just like her, too. You did come to mind, though. I'm sorry that I couldn't honor your request this time, but if I catch another female, I'll use your name for sure.
Maybe I should think of creatures that I'd like to be named for in the new one, especially if the old ones can't be ported...

I can explain this:

Before the Elite 4 there are no old Pokemon at all, none in the wild and none can be traded. but by beating the E4 and getting the national dex it unlocks the ability to trade over your old mons from Platinum/SS. So it is possible, but will take awhile.

Anyways, the mon I'd like named after me should be fairly obvious... if you can find one anyway, haven't seen one yet and I'm at the fourth gym. gonk

Oh, awesome. I was so worried that I'd never be able to play with my level 100 Crobats, Mewtwo, Kadabras/Alakazams, Sneasel/Weaviles without going back to the old games.

Seeing as it only hits it's second of three forms after level 40, it -is- evidently a late-game Pokemon. Have you looked for info on where it's to be found? It should be on the very page you linked me too. I'd check myself but time is terribly short, just now...

I've never had to name a Pokemon since I never really played any of the games... Well other than Pokemon Snap and a Pokemon pinball game that I believe was for the GB Color. I imagine it's quite challenging after awhile. So I pretty much only know the original Pokemons but I suppose if I were going to have one named after me I'd like to be a Charmander.

They do look pretty cool.
Usually I just catch the first version of whatever I find, but I'll wait for a female. You want it to be your Gaia screen name, then?
I do get a little catch-happy. When I saw the chinchilla Pokemon I caught the first one I saw, but then I went back for the male... I don't think that anyone who knows me well enough and has kept up with me over the past two years will need to ask what I named him.
It's not quite like having him back, of course and maybe it's silly, but it feels nice to have him in my party.
