It was another hot afternoon in the savanna and Kamau found himself resting in the shade of a lone tree. It was nice out here and he had purposefully left his family without any warning. Today was a day for rest. Or at least an attempt to take the day off, away from any family. No family which meant no surprises, sneak attacks, random adventures, or just trouble period. The thought was rather nice.

Yawning the leopard felt his eyes begin to close. Surely a nap wouldn't hurt. Without another thought he began to slowly drift off to sleep.

Was it mere temptation, or was it the simple fact that Kitallie is a bit of a b***h, to say the least, that she found herself sitting among the grass and watching the figure in the distance like it was a rabbit ripe for the taking? It wasn't as if she was stalking, no. He wasn't "worthy" of that kind of time and attention from her, at least not yet anyway. She didn't know if he could be that entertaining, but...why not figure that out for herself, no?

Well he does look a little lonesome, doesn't he?

Oh yes, because looking relaxed is always a mask for being lonely.

Lightly chuckling to herself in her head, the leopardess decided to make her move. She knew stalking up on another predator wasn't exactly the same as pouncing on a gazelle or something, but at least with another big cat she could get some amusement out of it. Though, was amusement better than a meal?

In his sleep, the leopard was running. Towards or from what he didn't know exactly. Yet there was a gradual change from the feel of the hunt, to the fear of the prey. Kamau's tail twitched several times before he was jolted awake. By the exact same feeling that his dream left off on. "Figures." He sighed. Even out here sleep wasn't an easy thing.

But why did he have this feeling still?

Was his mother out here? It would figure. Nia loved to stalk her family and sneak up on them. Kamau grinned faintly. At least some of them had gotten used to their mother's tatics, though he couldn't say the same for several of his siblings who still took to the air every time Nia pounced. Sniffing the leopard shook his head. It wasn't his mother coming his way. But he was curious - who would be trying to sneak up on him instead? Well he was about to find out. Keeping still the leopard closed his eyes and started to mimic the light breaths of sleep.

The leopardess froze in mid step when she saw her "prey" had awoken from his sleep. Well of course luck would have it that he would, and she would have to stay in this position unless she wanted to give herself away, which she didn't want to, yet. Yet, why would she care anyways? It wasn't like she knew the guy personally. But she did, because it was all part of the game. You either win, or you lose, and Kit wanted to win.

Scowling to herself, and ears pinning back, she gently laid her paw to the ground once she noticed the other leopard had fallen back to rest once more. Or at least that is what it looked like anyway.

It would be now or never. For all she knew he could awaken once more.

Well here goes nothing...

With a grin on her face, and heart beating fast in her chest, Kit pulled up all her energy and darted towards her target for a pounce attack. It wasn't like she could miss in white and black blob in the middle of a field, right?

Easy, it was too easy. Was this some trick? Kamau focused and tensed. No. She was still coming after him. "Goodbye nap." Muttered the leopard before fully opening his eyes. It definitely wasn't his mother bolting towards him, but it was a leopardess. And not one he was related to either.

Odd.

Kamau didn't move though. Rather he patiently waited for her to pounce. It wouldn't be until the last, split second that he planned to silently roll out of the way. And then it would be his turn to pounce. The leopard sighed. All he wanted was a nap.
