Hobbies: (Watching) Iaido: Hiro used to be an avid practitioner of iaido... back when he had a human form. These days, he's stuck as a cat and can't exactly swing a bokken in his paws. He's more than happy to sneak into a dojo and watch the humans, or even just watch it on tv or dvd. He finds it calming - unless he sees people getting things continuously wrong, in which case he is the worst sports commentator you've ever heard, dashing back and forth and hissing insults at the tv.
Spying: Hiro loves to slink, to sneak, and to spy. Eavesdropping isn't that difficult when you're a cat - people ignore you, or don't think to check up on that high branch/beam/shelf before talking. He can pick up all sorts of interesting tidbits, though whether they end up being useful is another thing entirely. Hiro just likes to 'keep in practice' - or so is his excuse if caught.
Meditation: Or so he claims. Hiro says he is looking for peace and serenity - even though peace is kind of boring. He likes to search out quiet places and meditate. Or is he simply catnapping? The world may never know...
Virtues: Silence is Golden: Outside of battle or training [see
Backseat Driver], Hiro is a mostly quiet cat. He feels no need to blabber on, so can be a soothing companion. He's also a great listener, if you want to spill your guts without having to worrying about any kind of advice coming back your way. If you receive nothing back but "hmm" and "I see", it's not that he's brushing you off. It's just that if Hiro has nothing useful to say, he says nothing. (Though if he likes you a lot, he might purr soothingly for you. Maybe.)
Patience Is A...: With his mediation and his silence, Hiro has learned the art of patience. He can lie in wait for hours for prey to come along (either for the pouncing or the eavesdropping). He feels no rush if a sneaky plot of his has shown no results for the past few weeks - it'll come, just wait for it. Unless you are foolish enough to threaten his senshi, Hiro is a calm, collected cat. (Or unless you get him drunk, but that's another story for another time.)
Dedicated: To his duties, to his plans, to his side - Hiro gives his all. He does not appreciate interference with his plans (he will cut you :< ), or any insinuations that he is doing less than his very best. He does not give up on his plots, unless ordered (from General+), even if they are going badly. He would need to be badly injured to consider withdrawing from a fight. Basically, he has a very strong sense of duty. And for one special person,
dedication furthers into
devotion - you Do Not Hurt His Alkaid. His senshi gets to treat him like an itty bitty kitty if she so wants, and is always his first and foremost concern. ( This can be played upon by others, as his Achilles Heel. )
* It is not a romantic devotion to Alkaid. Just a very strong bond because she is HIS senshi.
Flaws: Backseat Driver: "You're leaving yourself open on your left! Watch out for that guy on your right! Dear god, your form is horrible, where on earth did you-!? You know what, get out of the way, I'll do it myself." -- Corrupted senshi, Lieutenants, Captains, no one is safe. He makes a TERRIBLE companion in a fight, always wanting to take over and do it himself. Yes, even though he's just a cat. Even outside of battle, you can count on him to point out what you're doing wrong, what you could be doing better, and oh my it's a miracle did you finally get something right? You have to be someone special to him to avoid this kind of feedback. Though then he'll be wanting to take over for entirely different reasons (to protect you). If you want to avoid his critique, simply approach him when he is "off-duty" - at those times, he is a quiet and peaceful cat.
Small Cat Syndrome: "Let me at 'im! I can take 'em!" -- Hiro is a giant, ferocious tiger - just ask him! He doesn't notice his own limitations, and certainly has times when he forgets he is only a housecat. He talks big, acts big, and will generally take on more than he can actually handle. Part of it is ego, part of it is forgetting he cannot take human form, but he would totally try to face down an Eternal Senshi if one presented itself before him. And while he does have that useful Mau headlaser, it'd be like a good Guardian Cat trying to take on Tanzanite - it won't end well for Hiro.
Rough & Tumble: It's rather obvious that Hiro considers himself more of a warrior than a politician, as he's all rough edges. Despite being quite calm most of the time, he's not a well-mannered cat. His mode of speech is direct and often comes off as disrespectful, he doesn't see the point in flattery, and if he doesn't view you as his superior he won't treat you like one, no matter your rank. He actually does have a decent sense of self-preservation, it just kicks in a bit late... He takes back what he said about Edward, Apatite,

Body: Adult tomcat. He looks like he's been through the wars, but is a tough survivor.
Fur: Toyger's have the same colouring and patterns as a tiger. Fur is short - Hiro's is sometimes a bit scruffy.
Eyes: Right eye is missing. It appears permanently closed, with a long scar running across it.
