He had just told Fayalite...and Scheelite... now to cover the person who he wasn't sure how they would take the promotion. She was smart... ambitious, and talented and grievously tall. She'd go far, he was sure of that, probably almost as sure as she was and it would be well deserved every step of the way. Not that he had any doubts that anyone on his team would receive an undeserved promotion... but this was his rather ambitious 'Number One'.
He sent the 'text' from his 'work' phone, the trac-phone paid for always in cash and occasionally disposed of once numbers were swapped. A key phrase, a message and send... then all there was to do was go to the meeting place and wait. Tonight he needed another fight, there was just too much energy left in him and he didn't just want sleep...he wanted to pass the hell out come day light and not dream of Elision at all.
He waited by the fringes where they would be, easy enough targets for the likes of them but satisfying to destroy and good training to boot, just waiting to hear the sound of boot heels on pavement.

Elena had been settling in to do some homework for the night when her phone started buzzing. After picking it up and verifying the key phrase against a rather short list she'd had to memorize, the bluenette had made her excuses to her roommate before heading out to the meeting place.
She'd shifted to Selenite at some point while walking, going in an alley and coming out as someone else. Boot heels clicked on pavement behind her superior officer soon enough, though they stopped well short of his actual position.
It was clear enough to her something of what had happened; the uniform was different, for one thing. Most tellingly, however, was that Zinkenite's aura was significantly darker.
"Congratulations, General."

"Thank you Lieutenant, It's a recent promotion, I wondered if you would come and crush some rock beats with me while I fill you in?" He tilted his head slightly, curious and civil.
"Also... there is a suggestion for a trust building exercise over pizza, drinks and 'bad movies'... I am hoping you might consider attending.
His voice sounded tense, and strangely, as you got closer it was evident that there was blood on his new uniform, this was probably not standard issue, but it didn't look like he'd thought about powering down and back to change.

She nodded, curtly. There was really no other response to such a 'request', even a politely phrased one. There hadn't been when he had been her Captain, and now that he was a General. Well. That just made it all the more improbable.
"My schedule should be free," she returned dryly. That likely hadn't been his idea. She wouldn't ask, though. Just like she wouldn't ask about the blood decorating his uniform, noticed in a quick glance over. It would have been missed, in the dark and against the dark blue of his outfit, except that the light had hit it just right.
And only blood looked that way under the light. Which meant it was recent, and something to be filed away for the future, if she ever found anything to connect to it. "What are these beasts, anyway?" If anyone would know, if anyone had been told, or found out, it would be Zinkenite.

"I believe them to be a direct consequence of the senshi's invasion of Elision." He replied simply and mater of fact-ly. "The fact that flying ones appeared after we fought them in Quail's field... rock monsters after we fought in the fields of that infernal Leopard and lost... it's no coincidence." He shook his head and caught her gaze and made a small 'hmm' sound.
"Oh yes...That was castor... He may be out of the picture for...a few days, I keep forgetting to fix that." He took a sudden turn down an alley and scanned upward before changing down and back, clean but for a smudge on his cheek, half dried and already flaking.
"Someone attacked Linarite, if anyone asks she is dead." He said matter of fact-ly, he thought her the type to appreciate the succinctness of the information. "I believed it was castor, so I questioned him... I left him nailed to the floor of some of the poor-housing they are building... but I did not kill him."

She nodded slowly; that would make sense indeed. Unfortunately, the bluenette had not spent much time in Elysion, the reason for which she was unsure of. "They have much to answer for," Selenite murmured quietly.
There was a low hiss of breath at his casual explanation of the blood and where it had come from....and why. "I will certainly relay that if I'm asked." She assumed it was to keep the General safe while she recovered; a reasonable precaution indeed. "Was he not responsible, then?" she asked coolly, curious as to why one of the oldest enemies of the current Negaverse had been left alive.

"It seems not, I was expecting even a false confession to be honest after what I did to him, unfortunate that I promised to leave the honors of his ultimate demise to Tanzinite, still... I'm sure she's more creative than I in the ways of making the b*****d suffer. Besides... I need to find out who DID the deed." He was clearly angry...furious in fact on a sort of low rolling boil kind of level.
"If you hear even a hint of someone bragging, I want their name... if you can, I want them dead." He said turning to her with bright pale eyes, and apparently every confidence that she could handle herself should the need arise.

Selenite offered a slow nod; she'd not had the...pleasure of meeting Tanzanite directly, but the other General had quite the reputation among the Negaverse. Enough to make her feel a brief pang of sympathy for Castor.
"Yes sir," she replied stoically. Anyone who could take down a General of the Negaverse so relatively easily would not be someone a mere Lieutenant really wanted to face alone, but there was hardly any other response she could have given.

He paused and pinched his nose and sighed, he was being rash, over emotional and fool hearty. "No... no cancel that, just their name... it's not likely that the event was a fluke."
What was wrong with him...what was wrong with him he couldn't focus. Everything felt like he was being jerked along on puppet strings, the chill of the evening seemed to have seeped into his very skin and he just couldn't think... not about the present, the here and now and he needed to.
"You're free to speak your mind Selenite." He said casting her a more measured glance, though as the rage faded from his face he looked somewhere between numb and ill.

She didn't say anything in response, although if her General had glanced over a moment sooner, he'd have caught a flicker of agitated concern. Luckily for Selenite's self-image, her face was smoothly attentive when he did happen to look at her once more.
"Are you entirely sure you should be out right now?" she asked without really thinking about it. Well, he'd told her she was free to say what was on her mind. "No offense intended sir, but you're looking a little rough around the edges."
Had he seen Scheelite since being promoted? Probably, though that didn't mean the Captain had seen Zinkenite looking quite this worn out. No doubt he'd have had a lot stronger words to say than merely 'rough around the edges', but that was Scheelite's prerogative to say such things.

He paused, blinking in surprise at her comment, it wasn't at all what he expected out of her and it drew him up short.
"It's just been a long night." He said, it wasn't quite dismissive but... well no it was entirely dismissive. "I'll keep it a short evening, just need to blow off a little steam."
He smiled at her for all that was worth, given that he was wearing a mask that covered the lower half of his face and it barely if at all reached his eyes.

There wasn't really anything Selenite could say in response; she'd made her thoughts known, and it appeared as though her superior was intent on ignoring her advice.
"As you say, sir," was her only response as she peered about, trying to see if there were any enemies nearby. She wasn't sensing any, which may or may not have meant anything.

He stopped slowly... casting her a long look, a very HARD look that said he would rather not be admitting anything but glanced skyward.
"Perhaps another night...if you're tired too... I think perhaps dealing with that Senshi could have been enough for me for tonight..."
Clearly he didn't want to admit any...flaw. But sooner or later everyone must.

She cast a sidelong glance at him once he wasn't looking at her, blue eyes narrowing slightly. There was a moment's silence and then she yawned. It might have been exaggerated, but it was a yawn.
"It is rather late," she said noncommittally afterwards.

"I won't say anything if YOU won't Lieutenant..." He said after a sharp chuckle at the exaggerated yawn. "At least... I can recommend 'quick on the pick up' as far as suggesting you for promotion." He said arching an eyebrow at her before taking a single step back, casting her a ...slightly sarcastic bow... and vanishing much the way he had come.
