We have a tradition, my friends and I, that on your birthday you get to pick whatever you want for dinner and someone will step up and make it. Typically I'm the one that cooks, but now it's my turn to pick!

I'm lost, I dunno what to have.

I really feel like a roast with yorkshire puddings and mashies, but some of my friends don't eat beef and I don't want to exclude them so that's out, as is steak.

A big chicken with roasted potatoes and caesar salad might be nice. And then there's the added bonus of soup afterwards heart

Or ham with mash and salad/garlic bread. Ham is actually my favorite thing ever, but that means I eat it relatively frequently and a change might be nice

I just thought of curry too! Oh man, haven't had that in forever >w<

I'm sure there are things I haven't considered yet! I know it's my decision in the end, but I would so appreciate more suggestions. Preferably for things that can be made at home (relatively) easily.

If u want a roast you can roast pork with potatoes and carrots with maybe some kind of rice pudding XD

I know im getting a birthday dinner tomorrow at my moms shes making my favorite Broccoli and rice casserole ^^ I adore it but we didn't have it much because my brother didn't like broccoli... but i like broccoli and cheese ^^

Or you can have, Marinaded Taco Sauce Chicken!

It goes well with white rice too.

And you can make plenty of other things to go with it! >w<

I prefer Japanese hibachi food on my birthday. My mother and I always go out on my birthday night and eat at my favorite hibachi restaurant. Sometimes I have to go alone, though, if my mother has to work.

But it's great to have friends cook for you, too. c:

As for suggestions, I have one for dessert, if you'd like it. The best Banana bread you've ever tasted.
First you have to preheat the oven to 350º. It works in a 9x5 inch pan, but you can double the recipe if you'd like a bigger one. Grease or flour it, so the bread doesn't stick when it's done.
Cream together a 1/2 cup of butter or margarine and 1 cup of white sugar until it is smooth. Put in 2 eggs and 4 ripe bananas, and beat them in. Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon baking soda, then mix it in until it's smooth. Then add 2 teaspoons of vanilla for a bit more sweetness. It never hurts to add more, and it's not necessary to have it. c:
Finally pour it into the pan, and put it in the oven for an hour, or until whatever you stick into it to test if it's done comes out clean (a fork, a toothpick, etc). It tastes yummy with ice cream too. c:
Oh yes, all temperatures I mentioned above for the oven are in Fahrenheit. 305ºF is 175º Celsius.

Enjoy your dinner/dessert and happy birthday!

I hadn't thought of pork roast! I wonder I'd yorkshires would go well with that.. They are really the only reason I want roast at all >w<

Taco sauce chicken? Sounds interesting. Even if I don't go with it for tomorrow night it's definitely something I'd like to try making sometime.

Japanese is always good, but I love our tradition. Cooking for friends is fun, especially on their birthday. As for banana bread, I love it! But I have a super awesome recipe which I finally tuned out to be perfect after much practice and improvisation and I don't think I'll ever use another, but thanks a lot for that.
