
She hadn't been lonely on her travels, really. She'd met lions she'd enjoyed the company of, she'd met leopards, cheetahs and even birds and hares. They'd lifted her spirits the slightest, allowing her to forget for the tiniest moment about the empty hole in her chest.
Koko was skinnier than she'd ever been. It wasn't that she didn't have the capability to bring down a preybeast, it was that she didn't want to. She ate scraps she found here and there.
