Located toward the South of the Dark Sakura Blossom Guild Estate is the City of Dar'n'ak. This city started as a tiny seafarer's port but grew quickly due to the growing popularity of importing things by ship. As the town grew and prospered, more people moved there. Now the City flourishes, but also has some inner problems.

The Navy that surveys the sea is unfortunately lacking in skills, and the City is often under attack by pirates and various other sort of frightening people. This city was almost constantly under assault by The Starbird and its band of pirates but recently the assaults have halted and the Navy nor its commanders can even guess at why.

Among the pirates, creatures out of myth plague the city as well. Siryns call out to the men, leaving them drowned in the shallows. Change children show up everyonce in a while as well, some are harmless, but some come with ill intent. The seas nearby are also infested with odd monsters. People rarely live to speak of them, so there isn't very much description, only shading recallings of the shipwreck. They are to the south.

Dar'n'ak is situated in a very convenient area. The land drops down in a thin mass for miles south but widens North of Dar'n'ak. This port is ideal for the transfer of goods if one does not want to sail all the way around this mass of land. The waters are much more rough further south as well.

Sunlight pierces through her closed eyes and she groans in pain. Was she truly still alive? She hadn't thought she was... She'd been drifiting through warm darkness for too long to still be functional. She'd been too far into that peaceful place to still breath air. She'd thought that the Gods had had her but apprently the Gods had other plans, for she finds herself not only breathing, but aching all over.

She finds that she can't remember a thing...

She slowly opens her seaweed green eyes and immediately shuts them. One wouldn't open, she knew that for sure and the sun had pieced so brightly through the other, that her head had begun to pound with a harsher beat.

Instead she brought a hand up to inspect the damaged. At least this arm was working properly. Her probing fingers meet with tender dryy skin on her cheeks but slowly come in contact with something wet and sticky as she moves them further up toward her left eye. She tries not to panic, this had been the eye that hadn't opened... Slowly, very slowly, she inches her fingers up, trying not to exert too much pressure on the tender skin surrounding the socket. She finds the gash and almost throws up. It's right across where her eye should be. Where her eye should be...

Siryn ahs only enough time to roll over and retch. Her left eye is gone. She hadn't felt anything that would resemble it when she was feeling her face, in fact she had only come in contact with that empty socket. There was nothing there. What had happened. She truly cannot remember anything. Although she hadn't much in her stomach to bring up, once she finishes, she tries to pull herself up into a sitting position.

There she tries to open her eye again. Now that she's not facing directly into the sun, she finds it alot easier to glance around. Immediately she knows where she is. She's North of the City and Seaside port of Dar'n'ak. The deep caves in the side of the rock make that much obvious. That's good then, at least she knows where to go to find help...

She takes some time to glance at the rest of her body. Other than a few gashes, some of them rather deep, she's no worse for the wear. It seems that her eye was the worst part of the damage. Her clothing though, is another story. She may not be overly injuured, but her clothes are much too ripped and bloody to be of any worth now.

Although she doesn't recall what happened to leave her stranded on the ocean shore, and not sailing on her beloved Starling, she does remember the stash of clothing that she and her stepfather had left in one of those caves.

After much effort or trying to stand through her pounding headache, she limps over toward that cave.

He kneeled. About a mile outside of the city it was in plain view for him. His enhanced sight made this distance seem much much shorter. As he kneeled his long bulky arms lay at rest at his sides, his long fingers moving gently against the dust as he caught the odd sent of salt and fish, but underlying that was the acrid stench of human inhabitance. Waste, death, life, blood, other variously reiking forms of human habitation. Filthy creatures. this body was dead and he still knew this body was much more higenic than those humans clustered. But it was dead, what use was there for hygene?

He growled gutterally and grinned, his jagged sharp teeth glinting yellow in the light. His eyes caught a feral look as he looked on, It would be soo easy. Kill people on the outlying towns and he would have enough energy from thier souls to level half the city. The rest would be easy. What some humans refered to as "a walk in the park". Mind you his walk in the park that he invisioned was filled with blood screams and death but none the less, walking he would be doing. He might even pass a park on the way.

But that was not the point, he did not need food, nor any form of sustenance short of water, to keep the body, moist so to say, so it wouldn't rot around him while he held it, It sounds odd but that was how it worked for him. Closing his eyes slowly he donned the massive cloak. Covering him he fastened the metal ties in the ront so there was nothing other than his booted feet visible, Throwing up the hood it shadowed his face, even then he closed his mouth and made sure to push his hair back, he would look as human as possible, even though he would rather kill them. He wanted information.

He could still feel that damn young man, he did not know what to call him, he had forgotten the name, he had inhabited the body before but been thrown out by that accursed wench. She would be seeing him soon if he had that choice. But he could feel the man, feel the masked boy.

"I will find you child"

He said. Now his voice is hard to describe, you know the disgustingly obscene noises zombies make? Make those noises into words and you about have it.

Saiko Had arrived.

THUMP!

The thunderous roar of the bodies heart making a beat. The first one of many. As the beat ceded he walked on, cloak covering him completely. He was inside the city.

Even though he was much taller and bulkier than most he got very few stares, and even the few he got were sidelong and wary. He didn't like that, he would rather cut his path to whatever information he could find. But it would be difficult to find information if he could not find a living soul.

Turning down an alley he dissapeared from sight following the curved and mazelik alleys. for now he was out of the public eye.

After a grueling effort of walking over the damp sand, Siryn finally arrives at the cave she'd been looking for. Unfortunately it had been further than she'd remembered and now she's sweating through her blood slicked clothing and thirstier than a desert hare. She takes her time to pause against teh cavern entrance, catching her breath. She was more injured than she'd expected.

Once her breath was again safely in her chest, she moved further into the cave, looking for the trunk of treasure and clothing she knows is inside. The darkness of the cave should unnerve her, but it doesn't. She's been here before. She'd grown up around these caves. Along with the clothing and treasure, she knows that there are matches and a candle stub. If she's lucky, there is also a water skin to fill with the water from the spring. She finds that she's quite thirsty.

Along the way back, she stops twice more to recover the effort it takes to move. Finally though, she makes it to the place she's been searching for. Once there, Siryn collapses to the ground, breathing hard and fighting the pain raging all over her body. She searches around with her fingers, looking for the matches and the candle stub. Once they are safely held, she strikes the match and lights the candle, peering around.

Everything looks exactly the same as it had the last time Siryn had been there. The trunk of clothing was in the corner, closed, yet not locked, and the small bag of coin was still hanging above it. She turned slightly, and saw that the spring is still there, only slightly lower than the last time. Without a second thought, Siryn throws herself toward it, slurping up to wonderously cool water.

Once sated, Siryn pulls herself back up into a sitting position. She rips a piece of her shift off and dips it into the water. Holding the candle up, she peers at her face. Although she'd already known, she gasps when she catches sight of her eye, or rather the place wherre her eye should have been... She feels tears well up, but scoldingly reminds herself that now is not the time to be focussing on this hardship. She still has no memory of what might have happened to land her here.

Dipping the piece of cloth into the spring, she sheds her clothing and washes her body of the grime and blood caked onto it. She's careful around the eye though, the skin there is tender, and it hurts just to clean off the blood. She knows she has to find a healer for this, but she also knows that may have to wait until she finds the energy to get to town.

After thoroughly cleaning herself, Siryn slowly makes her way over to the chest. She pulls on a soft tunic and short breeches over top of a shift and leggings. She ties her hair back with a strip of twine and slumps against the wall of the cave. Now she needs to figure out what to do next...

Time passes for Siryn. She spends it all in the cave, only venturing out for necessary events. Sh's not sure how much time has past, she rekons almost a month, judging by the moon. It's been long enough though, that she feels strengthened enough to make the journey away from here.

She prepares for the journey by filling a rucksack with a change of clothes and a few coins. The rest of the money she hides all over her person. She's a pirate, she knows where and how to stash things to avoid them getting stolen. Siryn also fills her wineskin full of the clear spring water. Then she stands, and is ready.

and in the light of the sun a ship appeared on the horizon. Sailes trimmed and set as it drifted in on the currents created by the water moving so near land. The eddies brought the ship nearer and the glint of bronze was seen.

Now anyone that looked at the structure would see a ship. Simple correct?

But it was oh so much more. The flag hanging off the back was odd.

User Image

the radient glow of the sillouhets eyes giving it life as it ripples on a breeze the sails were set to avoid as not to ram him into the docks.

The front of the ship, the hull at the forward end was encased in a sheaf of bronze, hammered as to be sharp and nailed securely made to break ice, or if need be other ships.

Small cannon ports stood on each side closed for now and a long gun or very long range cannon stationed at the forward and aft ends of the craft.

Calls echoed as the sea birds flew around the rigging and a seaman in the nest at the top of the mainmast. Yelling what he saw. Suddenly oars pushed out on each side making the ship look like a masive waterbeetle.

It moved slowly and as they neared the deck men dropped down woolen pads as the ship neared the dock for safety. Laquered on the side of the ship was it's apparent name.

"Dark wolf"

simply explaining the flag. Now un-explained on this craft were the people. Men and women alike, the men bare chested and darkly tanned an assortment of the roughest looking men to be seen, most needing a shave or perhaps a trimming of hair. But it was alright. The men moved on the rocking deck barefoot in a seemingly random assortment but they moved as if men with a purpose.

Soon enough an anchor was set and 3 dull thuds were heard as the boarding ramps were set on the dock.

Perhaps the oddest sight was a young man, Wearing a deep red sash and pants, his reddish hair looking odd on his darkly tanned complexion and pale grey/blue eyes. The silver loop in his left earlobe almost hidden by his hair.

Tucked into that sash was a wickedly sharpened blade, slightly serpentine but more commonly known as a scimitar. He walked barefoot, rubbing his chin were a small tuft of hair stood out among the rough growth of a few days worth of fuzz.

grinning he moved about his ship again yelling orders. They had landed for now.

" I have shipments of ice peppers"

He said to the stout man holding the roster book. He grinned, a most winning smile, but the man merely huffed as he wrote down careful not to miswrite anything. The crook of his thumb and forefinger was dyed a black because of his pen.

The quirky little man nodded at the chest 2 burly men with cudgels at thier waists were holding. They looked scarred and beaten but he would be those cudgels worked as well as is blade at splitting someone skull.

The men carried it onto the ship at his first mate's direction.

His first mate, young but extremely skilled at his trade had been a mercenary for years, but now he remained as he is now, his first mate and second in command.

The man was an odd one one this ship.

He wore a sleevless skin tight black shirt, his toned abdomen and arms highlighted. His face a little attractive to the opposite sex apparently he wore a pair of blue jeans undone most of the time except for the zipper. Known to be a ladies man most men on the ship joked that he only did that to be ready on a second for some loving. But you could never tell with the man. His hair often spiked up it was a light blue, apparently natural but I do not know how, and had never seen the man dye his hair nor seen different color roots so I wouldn't really know. Often as not he wore a pair of blue tint sunglasses. Oddly though he was barefoot on deck, on land he wore a pair of dark black boots tucked beneath the folds of his pants. On his arm was an odd tatoo, a family relic he called it but He couldn't be proven wrong.

He was known as Jake to the crew. A simple name but his name, everyone knew that name on the ship. He was notoriosly good with that slightly curved blade he had gotten from a merchant claiming to have attained it in eastern gaia.

Getting off of the ship he smiled, he wore his boots already and he would be in a tavern soon enough, bouncing some plump barmaid on his knee and smiling his heart out.

For now though he went over the roster records carefully, reading the page and noting small mistakes, he didn't like having to stay around because of a mistake, he also was quite good with money to say the least, going from a small raker to this ship was all his doing, good investing ice peppers were.

Nodding and patting my shoulder he walked off slowly.

"You have 2 days of rest men, use it how you choose, Usual circuit of strongarms. Keep eachother out of trouble"

he said as he saw his first five men put on a silver armband marking them as today's strongarms. They would make sure none of his crew got into trouble.

Walking into the city himself as he left lookouts on the ship and docks he relaxed as he walked.

"We have a week in port boys, no one knows our location, no one will guess. You know the drill, 2 strongarms at all three of the taverns we are using, a fight breaks out you pay for damages out of your pocket and you make it right. For now have your fun, if you hear word of someone looking for anyone of the crew, tell me. "

He said turning and walking away as he heard the men talking among themselves, 20 heading in to taverns another 20 on the boat keeping watch and ready to run if need be.

Pirates life was hard, but all in all worth it.

CRACK!

He heard a crash and he hoped, with all his might it wasn't what he thought it was.

Barging through the tavern door he saw his worst fear, a man lay on the ground, a hole in his head but he didn't see the gore, what he saw was one of his youngest crew, holding a smoking pistol in one hands and his other hand shaking as he lowered the gun.

Stunned silence and in the second it took the boy to put his gun down Korin was across the room. As fast as the kid realized he was there korin punched the boy in the chest, again in the stomach and once again in the ribs, his arms pistoned those three quick shots knocking the kid out, and then began his anger.

grabbing the nearest crewman by the throat he gripped his neck hard and began to scream in his face.

As he screamed he realized someone was pulling on his arm, his friend, jake, pulling on his arm and yelling at him, just as he thought of this he heard jake.

"Stop, it wasn't his fault"

simple but hard to grasp now.He let go of the man and stood for a second as the man gasped.

" round everyone up and board the ship, we are leaving before this grows out of hand."

Too late. the door opened and men in uniforms poured in weapons held out in their direction, not a single person fought, too much at once no one thought about it.

He took the blame, his execution would be days away.

A young elf dodged under, through, around and over the fishing equipment, people, pets, anything really. A few people turned to stare at the nimble girl with pink hair, but she payed them no attention, so they turned back to their work.

No one knew where Bree was off to in such a hurry, and to be truthful, neither did she.

"Halt!" An imperative voice yelled, grabbing Bree's arm tightly.

The girl looked up shyly, before straightening fully. She sighed, this happened alot, Captains mistaking her for a beggar, or worse, a pirate, just because she wasn't a regular around there.
"Ye name and business Miss." The large burly man demanded, looking her in the eye with no compassion.

"I," She replied, staring at him back. "Am Bree'etraildiel Carmen tiolhik'n Ede Warren, High Priestess and Mage of Kierth, consisting of 23 elves." Her voice was cold, but had a hint of amusement in it. "Now would you kindly let go of my arm Sir, I have business to attend to that you do not need to know about." Her head tilted to the side, almost patronisingly.

The large man let go of her arm and stepped back, shuffling his feet. "I'm sorry Miss, but ye know... we have to be careful an' all... wit' all tha pirates ye see." His mouth turned into a small, sorry smile. "I beg ye forgiveness Miss."
Bree laughed lightly and gently touched him on the arm. "I know, and you were already forgiven." She motioned with her head past him, and he nodded quickly.
"Aye Miss, ye can carry on, and if ye run into any trouble jus' tell em Tarl sent ye." He pushed his chest out proudly.
"Why thank you young Tarl." Bree smiled, sweeping past him with grace. "I'll put in a good word for you where I'm going." She gave him a quick nod of the head, and turned around so he couldn't see her smile and carried on her way, home. She left the port with no more trouble.
