Personality/Basics:
Name: Alexandre Evans
Nickname: Tink (Think Tinkerbell. This nickname is due to his small stature and build, a nickname his mother gave him when he was little. It's stuck since than, and spread to a few close friends.)
Age: 16
Birthday: February 14th.
Sign: Aquarius
Gemstone: Turquoise
Blood Type: B
Fav. Food: Pomegranate, and coffee with cherry or pomegranate flavoring added.
Hated Food: Bananas, the texture is enough to make him ill. They sort of remind him of baby food, the soft and gooey texture. No thanks, very off putting.
School: Meadowview
Hobbies:
Paint the world with color - Alexandre likes to paint, a lot. In fact he would spend hours painting with he could, if he didn't have other things to do. His parents have been nice enough, they really had no choice, to set aside a room in their home for him. Inside he keeps a blank canvas, or three, with an easel , and all the paints and smaller supplies he could need/want. Perhaps it's his parents feeling a need to pamper their only son? Seeing how much they spend on his hobby, though he considers it a passion.
While some people might like the bold, thick, colors that oils and acrylics provide it's not his style. It's the softer, near translucent, quality that one can obtain from water colors which Alexandre favors. He likes how soft colors can be used to make things look delicate and flowers can look near fragile.
He doesn't like painting people, or objects. It's on the very rare occasion he'll paint objects, but never people. Alex doesn't like having to work off of pictures, actual people, or creating and keeping a mental image. With landscapes he can alter the mental image, or omit something from a photograph. It's sort of whatever strikes his fancy at the moment. Where as with people he feels that if the idea changes it can alter the picture, where something previously painted just doesn't look right.
Someone has green fingers, and it's not paint - Plants, he loves plants. The small green house, which is part of the house, used to be tended by his mother but no longer. She had taught her son, from the time he could walk, to nurture plants and it's become a labor of love - similar to painting. The only thing is, is that these plants aren't all harmless or grown for pretty flowers. In fact, a good part of the green house is filled with poisonous plants. Included in his little green house are foxglove, narcissus, aconite, mandrake, oleander, bleeding heart, and lily of the valley. His favorite is actually the bleeding heart, it really does look like hearts. Taking care of these plants, as there are many in the green house, is something of a labor of love. It's one reason he didn't want to go to boarding school, he wouldn't be home all the time and able to tend to his plants.
Alex loves his plants enough to have bought lady bugs and earth worms for them. It had started with an infestation on one of his rose bushes, that spread to the other one, aphids. He didn't want to use chemical means to handle the pests, at the risk of over using the product and killing his roses. There was also the risk of the stuff getting on other plants, like the herbs he has growing by the green house doors. So he'd done some research, he'd gone to the local nursery and asked one of the workers what else he could do. The solution had been lady bugs, they ate aphids. So he'd gotten a lot of the tiny little red and black bugs. The worms had come in when he'd spotted them next to the ladies who would save his roses. The worms tunnels made the ground loose and easier for plant roots to grow. So he'd purchased quite a few containers of the wiggly little creatures.
Virtues:
Organized - Everything has a place and in it's place is everything, isn't that the old saying? Or something like that, at least it seems right. The point it, is that everything is where it belongs. It isn't some disorder which has him neat, even to the point of fussing over things being out of order. It's just that he likes knowing where things are, he doesn't like to go digging around for things. It wastes time, which can be better spent on other things.
Tink will not clean up another person's mess; that being said, he won't clean another's disorder of his space either. It's not that he's lazy, far from it, he simply thinks people should clean up the messes they make. It's a matter of respect, after all he cleans up whatever messes he makes. He doesn't think someone else should have to clean up what he did. It was how he was brought up by his parents, clean up your own messes and never expect someone else to for you. If you don't clean up your own mess, and no one else does, it just remains and piles up. You can't expect someone else to be able, or want, to clean up your messes.
Dignfied -From table manners and how a table is properly set to how to greet someone at the door. Alex knows it all, including what are proper things to discuss at a dinner table. He is polite and has his manners down pact. Alex can manage to hold his own in a discussion at a table, or over finger foods, about politics and business, or even peoples latest buys and art. Art is the easiest thing for him to discuss, though politics is a close second. Most of the people who these dinners, lunches, and other things are with are clients of his mothers.
Really, it's all a nice act to please his parents and so he reflects well upon them. He doesn't want anyone to think ill of them, especially his mother, after all these people are mostly clients of hers. His parents can't help that he is a teenager, and he can't honestly be this way.
Honest - If you want to know if that dress looks good on you, and you can handle brutal honesty, you needn't look any further than Alex. He'd be happy to give you his honest opinion on that dress. He doesn't believe in lying to people. If you want someone to lie to you, you ask anyone uncaring of who your asking. If you want the truth you trust the people closest to you, who know you and just who you are. So he takes it as a sign of closeness if you ask his honest opinion about something, and he's all too willing to give his honest opinion.
Flaws:
Tactless. - Alex has no ability to keep his foot out of his mouth. If he's thinking something, he's saying it. Weather you want to hear it or not. In some ways it's a good thing, it can keep people from doing something they shouldn't. He has talked friends out of stupid things, by pointing how bad the idea/plan was. But at other times it really is unwanted, even if the person says they want to know how that dress looks. He's just not going to lie, even if he knows it's really what you want. Why should he lie, and by doing so coddle you? Especially when by doing so you do something you shouldn't do?
Consequences, punishments, be damned over what he says. It is one of two reasons he has lost cell phone privileges in the past and the reason he has a second one hidden under his mattress.
Snobbish. - Alex is one of those people who can verbally assault you with a pleasant smile in place, and do so with the nicest of words and the kindest voice possible. He's a snob and he will act like it. He will insult you and talk down to you in a manner you'd picture from some stuck up blue bloods. From using the terms 'common' and 'droll' to 'strumpet' and 'tart' he will insult you with the most proper of words and while looking down his nose at you, or up his nose since most people really are taller than him. Point is, is he does think he's better than you and will inform you of just that...though you may need a translator if snob isn't your language.
It's this same snobbish behavior he has when in art galleries, he does go to showings from time to time, and art museums. It's like the lessons his parents gave him, stuck with him but he's become something of a well mannered jerk, thus a stuck up snob.
He does know better than to be a snobbish, stuck up git, in front of certain people. He doesn't want to make his parents look like they didn't raise him right. This is behavior seen outside of dinner parties, or anywhere his parents are. His parents don't go to gallery shows, there not much for art. And he goes on his own.
Irrational fear of spiders. - Alexandre has really one fear in the world, or at least one which he reacts so strongly to. Considering his hobby, of growing plants, he really has had some bad experiences in his green house. Alexandre fears spiders. He knows they're small, at least most species, and that he's not likely to get bitten by one, but he has a strong fear for the eight legged creatures. He's often found, by one or both parents after calling them, standing in his room staring at seemingly nothing with shaking knees and racing heart. What he's doing like that is simple, he's staring at a spider, if he blinks it might escape and then he'd have to camp out on the couch downstairs in the living room.
Alex's fear is the sort which is paralyzing, only broken by someone killing or removing the spider from his vicinity. It's just a fear he can't seem to over come, and he can't make himself move to escape them either. The best he can do, in concerns to moving, is shouting for someone or pulling his cell phone from a pocket and dialing the nearest person to come and kill it.
Nightmares over spiders were once very common. Not as common now, mostly had on the nights where he's seen a spider prior to sleep, the spiders however have gained a lot in size. These nightmares have cost him precious sleep, there are days he will sleep through classes only being woken long enough to go from one class to the next.

Appearance:
Hair color: Not sure, maybe an ash blond. I'm thinking bangs framing his face at cheek or chin length. A little bit of length in back and his hair tied back. Eye color: Blue. Facial shape: Not sure. Body: He's short but not tiny, hence the nicknames. He's slender in build and only 5'3", a girls height in his opinion. But really he's learned to make due, though the nicknames will get a scowl or a pout from him for a short while. As for skin tone, he's fair skinned, too much time inside painting and gardening.

Negaverse info:
Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant Benitoite
Challenge: I'm going to paint your end.
Uniform: Top -- Like these coats X X I like the double buttons on the second. But from the first I prefer the general length and how it hugs to the body more. I'd just like it open rather than buttoned up. As for a shirt I'd say a turtle neck under it, with the bottom hem being at an angle, from right to left with the left side long, nearly mid thigh in length. Silver buttons on the coat would be preferable. So I really wanna do like something like this but I'm also open to artisitc interpretation.
I'm thinking maybe in Captain or General stage for a high collar on the coat. And maybe metal work about the collar, and maybe the bottom of his pants and a bit on the sleeves of his coat. Maybe in an ivy pattern. Something to show his thing for plants. Bottoms -- Pants/slacks. I'd say form fitting. Gloves -- Nope Belt -- No belt Shoes -- Boots with a slight heel. Shoulders -- Nope. Accessories -- Can't think of anything for the first stage. But artist can decide on anything they'd like to add. Weapon -- I'd like to start with a paint brush, which can be thrown handle end first. The next stage I have would be like one of those Japanese calligraphy brushes, but huge. Like enough to smack someone good with. For the general stage some sort of staff would be nice, maybe like a heavy bottom end he can use to hit someone, and some sort of bladed edge up top.
PICK A MAIN COLOUR FOR YOUR UNIFORM THAT IS NEUTRAL. Dark blue/sapphire blue
YOUR SECONDARY COLOUR WILL BE USED FOR PIPING AND EMBELLISHMENT, AND CAN BE WHAT YOU LIKE. Silver

Family life:
An only child he is pampered, not overly so, his parents refuse to turn him into a spoiled brat. But he is allowed to have his hobbies, painting and gardening, and to have access to the materials/tools he requires in order to properly peruse them. His parents both thinking it an investment, and something which will aid him in being productive and not becoming some troubled teen.
His father, David, is a computer programmer. A relatively normal job, at least as far as Alexandre is concerned. But it makes enough money and gives his father less stress than his mothers job does. His mother is a lawyer, so she sometimes brings the cases home to work on. His mother, Collette, is a very caring and emotional woman. So it should go without saying that there are times her cases get to her. The ones dealing with abuse and children are the worst for her, and it's always easy to tell when she's got one of those cases. She tends to talk in more of a whisper and keep owl like hours lock up working on the case.
She's a woman of justice, who likes to see it served. It's something they've all learned, and so when she shouts for tea, coffee, or at times is weepy or easily upset, it's accepted as something which comes with the job. If she didn't care so much, for her job and people, the added baggage wouldn't be.
As for David he's one who likes to relax when he's home, which means he's no where near a computer unless he absolutely has to be in front of one. The tv though....that's a screen he can be found in front of when home. It's not to say he's always in front of the tv, he's not. He knows how to cook, and likes to read as well.
All in all, a pretty stable middle class family.

Why the Negaverse:
The same reason as the poisonous plants. It's simple really. It's the fact he can do something like that, something illegal and bad, and no one is the wiser. It's a simple matter of doing something because he can get away with it. Not to mention these senshi people are a bunch of terrorists which need to be dealt with, before they start really messing up the city. After all it's a known fact terrorists job is to spread terror, hence the title terrorist, but to what ends would they go to spread there terror. It had to be stopped, by whatever means.
Alexandre is not the sort to sit idly by, he'd rather get involved and help. Not only help in a physical sense but let his own opinion be known, and loudly at that. I could see him being some sort of propagandist, and over time and with some minor persuasion putting his 'special' plants to good use - other than looking pretty.

go go gadget chii crit ! o v o
person: for the "have you ever" thing, i cant really say i would call it a hobby. its more like venting at bad drivers. would me yelling at volleyball players for bad play be considered a hobby? of course not, it would be considered a flaw. quite frankly, its an excellent point, but i just dont think of it as a hobby. might wanna ask mouse on this one, cause im not the ITNOTM law xDD
for his love of poisonous plants ... i hope you know its illegal to have quite a few lethal plants ouo;; also, working with poisonous plants is REALLY difficult unless you're specially trained in many cases. i would (once again) ask mousems on this, but tbh i just cant see a 16 year old managing lethal, poisonous plants responsibly o_o;;
"Let it be known that should something be made a mess, of course by someone else, he will give up caring enough to clean that area. Someone else had better be willing to clean whatever the mess is, and set things in order, he simply won't clean up someone else's disorder of his personal space" i think that wording is a bit ... confusing OTL ? you can easily just say "Tink won't clean up another person's mess; that being said, he won't clean another's disorder of his space either" simplicity of language OTL not really a crit, just a grammar/wording thing and ... his mother to get what hint? if he's organized, why would he just throw it into his closet? yes he's mad at his mom for the disorganization, but someone who's organized ... why would they disorganize just because they're angry? especially if he's polite, i mean ... i dunno, i think if he's organized, he should be organized in all cases, not just when it suits him? take this all with a grain of salt, im just throwing out what i think. you dont necessarily need to change <3
right now, bluntness is coming out sounding more like a flaw because of how truthful he is. virtues should be something that makes people want to hang out with him, or makes him likeable. being told that dress looks ugly- not exactly virtuous. i realize you have it as both a virtue and flaw, but the point im trying to make is that bluntness isnt coming across as a virtue, only a flaw ouo; ? /hopes that makes sense
as a rule of thumb, (and because the crit-ers check for it), you should have just as many flaws as you have virtues. right now you have 3 virtues and 2 flaws. be sure to balance it out ouo
i think dark rantings is well written. maybe call it sadistic with words though? dark rantings sounds a bit ... castlevania-tastic rofl
negaside:
just as a suggestion, i would work out all three stages of your nega, just as a precaution. it helps with growths and what not. although, as you can see with general tanzanite, the weapons dont always work out xD still, i think it would be good to start with what you have. perhaps also just make it one paintbrush to start with? it wouldnt make much sense to start with two paintbrushes and then somehow be left with one the next stage? also as a suggestion, you might want to work with say ... magical paint? once you hit captain stage, your weapons can take on magical properties, so something like ... magical acidic paint or something would be fun > u< ? dunno, ideas ? ouo

Shall ask mouse on the points you mentioned. And I was thinking of plants like ones anyone can have, foxglove, narcissa, aconite, mandrake, and such plants.
I'll reword what you mentioned. I think I didn't pay attention, to the wording, when I typed it up. I just kinda wrote things as I thought it up.
The clean thing. I think it's more of he just sort of gets upset and rather than say anything, as it wouldn't be nice to do to, he sort of displays his annoyance. And he gets discouraged by his neatness being messed up. But I can work on that and word it and figure it out better.
Yeah the bluntness does seem more a flaw. So should I add in where it can be good, or stick to it as a flaw only?
I'll go with the sadistic words idea. And Castlevania-tastic? ::Head tilt:: I'm lost, don't know the...game?
Ok, so two brushes goes to one. I like the paint idea also. I hadn't even though about that - paint itself.
By all three stages you mean like just weapons wise?

As long as the plants are legal to own and grow, there's no problem with that hobby, imo. XD I just ask that if you get the character and want him to actually USE them in some way, you get GM approval first.
Road raging also works better as a hobby as well, since it's too specific to count as a flaw. You could also expand it and explain how it can apply to him in general, instead of just when he's on the road.

Heya Sleet! Here are some things I was asking myself when reading your profile. I hope they help flesh him out a bit. I like his base, especially that he's a painter. *0*
What medium does he use to paint and why? Is he into acrylics or oils? Watercolor can't really be used on canvas, but does he do some watercolor on the side? What does he like to paint? I'm a landscape painter focusing on oils, so I naturally want to know about this hobby in detail. XD Why does his family grow poisonous plants? What happens if someone is being incredibly rude to him, or being polite simply doesn't do the trick? Would he drop being so well-mannered in order to get his point across? We have a lot of info about him being organized, but not so much about being polite. I'd like to know more about it! It almost seems like he's got another flaw we don't see in the quest. He seems kind of introverted, or something like that. There's just something there that I can't quite put my finger on as a flaw, but it just seems to me like there should be three.
Just a couple of things like, "in fact" is two words and things like that. Lovely quest though. I bet he'd be good buddies with my nega! biggrin

Ohhh good things! Very good! I hadn't thought about any of those things to be honest.
For paintings I'd say water color on canvas. I could see him preferring it. As the other paints are bolder and thicker in color. Water colors are softer and not so bold and thick.
Landscapes, people are harder to do. Landscapes are more of how you see it and you can change it. It doesn't need to be perfect and it's easier to go by what your mind supplies, as opposed to picturing a person in your head and keeping that image. With a landscape the mental image can change and still work well.
His family doesn't but he does. His mother turned the green house over to him, so he grows what he likes in it. It's something his mother noticed was a passion of his, growing plants, so she let him take over.
No, I don't think he'd drop being polite. He might become overly polite, like to the point it is rude but yet still remains polite as manners are in use. If you know what I mean.
I'll try and add more in to his profile, go deeper and explain more on it.
I hope that helps Lu. I'll work on figuring that other flaw out, since it does feel like there may be something else, since you mentioned it.

First off I read your weapon, and THIS is the first thing I thought. What if his first weapon was the paintbrush, and then the second was two middle sized paintbrushes? Then the third could be the giant one, like they fused together? Sorry my brain went there first! Now i'll read your other stuff and edit this accordingly!

ON THE CIVILIAN: I'm having a few readability issues with your quest. When you break something into paragraphs, go ahead and do the double 'enter' so that there is an actual line break. It helps break up the WALL OF TEXT feeling and makes the quest easier to digest. Also, some of your traits are overexplained. You want your profile to be concise but thorough. Off the top of my head, you will need to significantly trim down "Road Rage" and "Unreasonable Fear" if you end up keeping them. Get rid of the excess information! Several of your traits are written in a meandering way. For example, in your "organized" trait, you begin by talking about how he is organized and then somehow divert into how he refuses to organize other people's stuff and then end up telling a story about how his mother put his shirts away incorrectly and he refused to fix it until she realized her mistake -- which is sort of a severe thing to do in the first place. I would cut out all that excess stuff and just focus on how Alex likes to keep his things orderly, how it gives him peace to know where his things are, and even with all his painting, he is a fairly neat person. Cut out all that stuff about his mother, I think. Expanding on more content-based criticism, I have one little concern about his gardening hobby: Quote: It's not that he's planning to poison someone, or someones, but he finds it amusing how easy it is to have a deadly weapon right in his hands, to be able to kill someone, and no one has a single clue. This makes him sound like a sociopath! Yes, he is going to be an agent of the Negaverse, but I caution you from pigeonholing him as some closet killer just waiting to break free. I would suggest reworking these sentences to focus instead on how Alex feels immense pride/skill in being able to cultivate such deadly plants in a safe way. That way you still have that element of him liking to grow dangerous things without him sounding like a baby serial killer just getting his crazy legs. Also, his "road rage" doesn't sound like a hobby at all! Hobbies are enjoyable activities that characters choose to partake in. His excessive anger at other drivers seems to be more symptomatic of a temper problem. I would delete this as a hobby and either reframe it as something he does to release his anger (i.e. goes to a batting cage, plays a confrontational sport, loves listening to angry rock, etc etc.) or just get rid of it all together. Based on his "road rage," I am surprised that none of his flaws have anything to do with Alex having a nasty temper. The way you have "road rage" written, it seems like he is prone to ranting to an excessive degree. This should definitely be included as one of his flaws. Someone who overreacts that much to bad drivers is bound to have a short-temper in other areas of their life, which likely alienates them from people or causes friction in their relationships. I definitely think this is missing from the current profile. I already touched on how you could fix up "organized" above. In my opinion, the "polite/well-mannered" conflict directly with his bluntness and his penchant to dive into tantrums following a bad encounter with frustrating drivers. He is always polite and well-mannered -- and yet he would bluntly tell his mother she looked ridiculous in something? I think there is a way to balance these attributes in a profile, but presently, I feel like you have taken them to extremes. The irrational anger that you describe in "road rage" really throws me off. If that is a part of him, then I think you need to reflect that in his traits, or get rid of it entirely. Also "sadistic with words" is basically just his "bluntness" flaw reworded. You could combine those into one larger flaw about him just being "rude." But again, he cannot have a "rude" flaw and then a "polite" virtue. You need to make a decision one way or the other! Right now, his personality seems to conflict directly with itself, and even his virtues seem to have this negative undertone about how he is pretty much a total jerk who happens to be organized. What is just good about him? Is he caring? Is he generous? Is he creative? Is he dedicated? Here is a list of traits that might help jog your creativity. Quote: But the idea of hurting such people somehow amuses Alexandre Evans, who can go on and on with all manner of torture methods which could be employed. Similar to the quote about how much he loves growing poisonous plants, this sentence also makes him sound like a sociopath. When you join the Negaverse, you get corrupted, yes, but you don't want to bring your character into it already being this murderous person. It is far more exciting to slowly develop a descent into darkness, and we encourage players to do that instead of just assuming their character is a Bad Guy right from the start. His final flaw about being afraid of spiders should be reframed as "Irrational Fear of Spiders," and in it, you should be sure to highlight how this is a completely debilitating thing for him. In general, we don't count phobias as flaws since they are not necessarily implicit to the character's personality makeup. In this case, if you made it evident that this is a serious, paralyzing, massive issue for him, then I think it could work. Just make sure that you have more substantial flaws to balance it out. ON THE NEGA: Before I can stamp it, you need to have all three evolutions of his weapon listed. So that would mean picking something for his paintbrush to turn into when he hits General. Weapons for the Negaverse are just that -- weapons. He could have a massive javelin, a staff with metallic knife-bristles at one end, etc etc. Just make sure that it fits with the paintbrush look. You don't want him to go from paintbrush, to a bigger paintbrush, to a bow and arrows. I hope that this helps give you some direction as you go to revise!

So I said I'd try to give you a little help with this, and now I am! XD;;; Not sure how great I'll be at it. I readily admit I am not the best when it comes to critiquing things.
I'll leave his Nega info alone since I am by no means the person to ask when it comes to things like that, but there were a couple of things that struck me about his personality. I can see what Akina is saying about his personality seeming kind of conflicting. His bluntness can seem to translate as him being rather rude, which does conflict with his polite virtue. I'm not sure how to go about correcting that without getting rid of one or the other, unfortunately. I also don't think Alex's road rage is an effect of his bluntness so much as a sign of difficulty controlling his anger, so maybe consider giving him a short fuse/temper flaw? If you still want to use "bluntness" as a virtue, maybe try coming at it from the angle of being "honest" or "direct."
I'm really not sure of his fear of spiders as a flaw. I tend to not consider phobias a flaw (that and things like clumsiness come across to me more as "unfortunate circumstances"), though I can totally understand the fear and the debilitating effects of it (spiders, centipedes, cockroaches -- I freak out over all three; actually, most bugs freak me out, but those three are the worst). I just can't think of it as a flaw. A flaw, to me, should be something that people really don't like about a person. Phobias like that might annoy people, yeah, but I've never heard anyone say "I don't like so-and-so because s/he is afraid of spiders"; it's usually "I don't like them because they're rude" or "I don't like them because they're full of themselves." Things like that. He can definitely be afraid of spiders, but I'd set that aside as something extra about him and try to work with something different for a flaw. If you want to keep him as being blunt, you could try making that and his anger issues two separate flaws, or even change "blunt" to something like "tactless"? That would still conflict with his "polite" virtue, though, so I'm not sure what you'd want to do about that.
I don't know if that helps at all. XD;;;
