The clouds had eased away from the lands, and with the clouds went the rain and thunder. The rain had left the earth soft, the air humid, and soft to his lungs. He smiled, stretching out his legs letting his claws extend and stretch. Once his muscles felt loose, he leapt off the large rock he had been standing on. He darted through the grasses, making trails in the wet grass as the sun shined and began to dry the earth. He was bigger now. His mane was finally grown out and beautiful, his paws finally matching his body.

Life had been good for the not so little lion. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do today, but he was making his way to the edge of the pridelands to maybe give a little hunt. His belly wasn't really telling him he was hungry, but it was telling him that it would take the food should he choose to eat something.

Though he looked larger, more elegant, the same male was within that body. The laid back mindset, and surfer boy image of himself had never really been a stage he had grown out of. So as he slowed his run to a walk, he began to shake his hips as if he was dancing, his tail swaying side to side with his movements.

"Just got to find a good bit of chow." He said, his eyes scanning the clearing.

It was strange how good it felt to be in a pride. Every scent smelled a little sweeter. The lands looked plush and healthy and most importantly, inviting so unlike the desolate and lonely rogue lands where the earthy brown lioness had spent much of her life. Even the sky seemed brighter, her gentle jade hues lifted to watch the thick clouds as they rolled off into the distance after leaving behind a refreshing mid-day down pour.

Admittedly, Caelyndei was still reeling from the elation of being accepted into the Ela’wadiyi. So delighted just to be a part of something she was trying hard not to mess it up by causing any trouble. It was enough to sit quietly in the plains, watching the silhouettes of other members rolling by as they went about their day. Perhaps she’d introduce herself to the others of her clan soon, but for now Caely contented herself to watch and breath it all in. Licking a stray raindrop from her nose before she lifted herself off her rear to shake the dampness from her coat.

She was almost entirely oblivious of the male approaching in her peripheral vision.

He saw the female before she saw him, and his interest peaked. He cocked his head, pausing his steps as he tried to figure out if he had ever seen her before. Once he was sure he had not, he grinned. She must have been one of the new pride members that had joined. They had had a great influx in members, and it had been something to be happy about. He had hoped to meet someone who tickled his fancy, but not many in this pride had the patience to deal with a lion such as him.

His hips still swaying in a dance-like motion, the male approached her slowly. He did not want to cause her fear, but he didn't want to go too slowly either. He lacked the patience to edge up on this scenario slowly.

"Morning Chica! Hope I'm not interrupting or anything." He said, stopping a few feet away and plopping his rear down on the earth.

The rain had slicked soft pelt against the lioness’ petite frame, though with the jarring motion of attempting to dislodge the excess water it suddenly jutted and peaked at awkward angles, disheveled. Oh dear. Humming in amusement Cae twisted and turned tin an attempt to groom herself into a more suitable state of self. She didn’t get far before finally noticing the cream colored figure that approached, he was practically on top of her by the time she lifted her head to acknowledge him. Blinking at his strange swaggering gait and giggling softly. Was he dancing? He certainly seemed to be in a good mood, though Caely couldn’t blame him.

How could anyone be in a bad mood when they made their home in this wonderful place? Feeling particularly giddy when he noticed and even greeted her. His manner as friendly as his saunter. He-hello.

Her own greeting was soft and carried a self conscious weight, smiling bashfully, though her gaze avoided his own. Instead staring at the handsome turquoise designs that blossomed upon his strong legs like vines. At first she had barely been able to tell them apart from the grass that parted around his paws. Wondering if they, like so many others in the pride, were tattoos that had been gifted to him over his time spent in the pride. In-interrupting? No.. not at all. I.. uhm.. I was just… watching.

He had startled her, something he had not been meaning to do. But he supposed walking up on her whenever she grooming was likely a bad idea, and he noted it for next time he ran into the scenario. His blue eyes gleamed with excitement whenever she spoke, and he smiled lopsidedly.

His tail made its own steady path in the grass as he swayed it. Creme paws glistened with the water, and the sun that gleamed off of the wet fur. He looked her over, and smiled. She was quite pretty, something he could appreciate quite well. He always fancied himself a hit with the ladies. However he never actually had proof of such a claim.

Her voice was soft and lovely. He couldn't help but close his eyes to let the velvety sound wrap around him like a blanket. When he opened his eyes, he purred a little but fluffed his shoulders so that his mane repositioned itself. He turned his attention back to her and chuckled, his voice still the masculine yet not the deepest voice you'd find.

One more look-over, and he realized that she had to have been new. If she wasn't, she would have tattoos like his own. He looked at the turquoise colored markings that painted his legs and he smiled. They were proud tattoos, telling his story of his love of the laid back lifestyle. His good nature and his peaceful mind.

"Watching? Right on, dudette. What were you watching?" He asked, cocking his head to look at her.

Even if she wasn’t looking directly at him, Caely could feel the stranger’s eyes taking her in. It wasn’t in that raking, intrusive way males in the rogue lands would often leer but rather as if he were trying to figure out more about her simply by looking her over. Silly, really. Considering she would have gladly told him anything he wished to know. The painted female didn’t have many secrets and those she did have couldn’t exactly be called secrets, given Cae’s penchant for being nearly completely incapable of lying.

Cautiously lifting her eyes beneath the shock of her blonde forelock, her smile wavering sheepishly, reluctant to answer truthfully as she quickly ducked her head again. Shoulders squirming as she wiggled in place in response to the seemingly innocent question, I.. I don’t know.. if I should say. It-it sounds weird.

He was used to weird. The male himself had been called such a thing and even worse things. He wasn't what you'd normally find along these lands. He smiled and still it was as lopsided as before. Flicking his tail he shook his head.

"Share what you were watching and ill share something about myself." He said in hopes it would open her up a bit. If there was one thing others liked about him it was his inability to judge anyone. He lowered himself to his belly and watched her as thoughts ran through her mind.

Aah.. well.. I.. uhhm, you see.. it-it's like this.. Admittedly, the second request caught her off guard, under normal circumstances her companion would have shrugged off Caely's nervous stammering, decided that there was little to be gained from conversating with her and find a way to excuse themselves. If they were polite, that is. This one though, he was obviously different from the rest. Attempting to bribe her with information about himself if she answered his questions. She briefly wondered just what sort of things he might have revealed about himself. Finding her own curiosity about him alarming, but far to tempting to neglect.

Lifting her gaze towards the distant figures milling about their daily tasks, Caely finally returned a sheepish glance towards the lion who was making himself comfortable nearby. A smile breaking across her muzzle in amusement. He really was a strange one wasn't he? I'm.. I'm watching them. They seem so content. It makes me happy to be here... even if I'm still only sitting on the edge.

After their pride leader, this buff colored stranger was the first pride member Caelyndei had the pleasure of meeting. It was all too exciting. What clan was he from? Where had he come from and how had he gotten here? Had he always been a member or was he rogue born like she was? And most importantly--forgotten introductions! O-oh! Uhm.. my name is Caelyndei.. Skan Kanati has placed me in the care of the shadow clan.

He watched as she fidgeted, and waited. He knew he was abrasive sometimes, but it would pull her from her shell, and he wanted her to open up a little. He was a pretty chill dude if he thought so himself.

"Rad, Rad.." He said, nodding as she told what it was she was watching. He looked at where she motioned, and smiled. Ah. She was watching the other lions. He had found himself doing that sometimes, though never for too long. He hated staying in one place for too long. He wanted to move, to dance, whatever he could.

"Name is Waikiki, dudette. But you can call me wai. Or dude. Whichever you find more fitting." He winked. Shadow clan eh? Well she was of a different clan, but that meant she was the first shadow clan member he ever met. That amused him. And so remarkably pretty too.

"Im in the sky clan." He said with a nod.

Waikiki.

Even his name sounded foreign, granted not in the same way most of the others did. He had a strange way of talking, lackadaisical and almost drawling but friendly and inviting. Waikiki was definitely a pleasant lion to spend time with, smiling bashfully at the warmth that filled the peculiar introduction.

Dude? That was definitely a first. What was a dude anyway? Caely thought about it for a moment as she gazed at the cream colored male beside her. Apparently the male version of whatever a dudette was was about the most she could reason. Tittering softly at her own cluelessness. It's nice to meet you Wai. You're the first person I've met since my initiation...

Like she was, he was also the first of another clan she was to meet. Smile wavering with obvious concern. The sky clan..? D-does that mean... we won't see each other?

He smiled that lopsided grin that he was known for and winked. "Between you and me, I don't really meet many others either. You're the first one Ive actually initiated any conversation with. You're lucky." He grinned, teasing her a bit. He was a bit of a jokester, but he figured that's what made life interesting.

"Oh we can see each other my dear. It shouldn't be too difficult. But you know, the males are supposed to follow the females to their clan. Id have to follow you, so you'd have to be sure." He teased some more.

I think you're just saying that to make me feel better... Caely pressed gingerly with a bashful smile, her gaze averting averting sheepishly. Focusing on a stalk of grass that rose higher than the rest as she attempted to squash it under her paw. It was hard to imagine a lion as charming and energetic as Waikiki not being swarmed by friends and possibly, maybe, even potential pursuers. Finally lifting her gaze to him again when she was certain she could look at him straight without an incredulous expression. Agreeing with a small bob of her head, I am lucky though.

Not having much experience in her new pride as of yet or being terribly familiar with the customs of choosing a mate, the naive lioness didn't seem to realize the cream stud's implications. Smile widening cheerily, I am sure! I'd be really happy if you came and visited me in my clan!

"You are lucky. But don't listen to me. you should tell me why you're so lucky. And is that luck contagious? Cause you might not get me to go away." He said with another wink. He was feeling particularly playful and he just couldn't help himself. He felt like a cub again.

"I'll visit you my dear. Though I hope, that soon, it goes to more than visitation. I might consider you a tease." He said it, but his face showed that he wasn't serious. He was more a tease than anyone else.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2011 3:55 pm

Unlike Wai, the painted female wasn't the sort to tease. Her intentions always entirely pure. So it was only natural that, despite her embarrassment she answer his question earnestly. Feeling her cheeks warm as she fidgeted in place, shoulders wiggling. W-well.. I mean... I.. I don't know. Maybe the Ela lands are magic. I found a good home here and.. met a really handsome lion and I've only been here a few days.

Lifting her paw to playful press into that thick mane as her new companion continued to flirt rather mercilessly. I'm not a tease! If you wanted to stay I wouldn't stop you. It might be nice to have you around all the time.

Again, Caely really didn't seem to realize just exactly what she was proposing. Jade gaze lifting to peer at him innocently.

He knew she didn't understand what he was saying, and if anything that just made her all the more cute. He smiled softly, leaning in to nose her cheek.

"Well then I'm lucky myself. As the first female I decide to talk to, happens to be as damned pretty as you, dudette." He winked, and chuckled.

He liked her..and time would tell if she liked him. Only he hoped it wouldn't take too long. He wasn't getting any younger after all!"
