Maji hung up the phone, filling with anticipation. She had just invited the other New Years child over to Maji's house, seeing with the 'playdate' system D-Corp had set up.With a jolt, she looked around the house. To her dismay, it looked like a torando wreck. Laial's worksheets and markers were strewn all over, not to mention her Invador ZIM dvds that Laial watches constantly. With a weary sigh, she walked around and began to pick up the random stuff.
1 HOUR LATER
Maji flopped onto the couch next to Laial, watching Invador ZIM. The massive cleaning task was finally complete. Now, all she had to do was wait for the other two to arrive...

((sorry if i wasn't able to get on last night...the concert ran much later than I expected))
Etira casually walked around looking for something. Vivina was close behind, clutching Mr. Floppy and a few markers. Et ((for short)) carefully looked at the paper in which a play date invitation was scribbled down with the address of the place she was to go to. Finally, after a turning a corner, she reached the building and went forth to find the door. She didn't realize she was running slightly behind and took extra care to find the right door to knock on. She found the door to Laial's place and knocked lightly with a sigh, hoping that this will go alright.
Vivina skipped along and watched her 'mom'. She giggled now and then, playing with the new years ribbon around her. She doesn't know where she was going, only why. Et told her that she was going to play with another child like her. She smiled and hugged Mr. Floppy tightly as Et and she waited for the door to open.

Hearing the knock, Maji almost jumped out of her skin. Ahhh!! They're here!!! She turned to Laial, attempting to appear calm as not to startle him. "Laial," she started, calmer than she felt, "you need to turn that off."
Laial frowned. Couldn't she see that this was the best part?! "I no wanna," he pouted. He doubt it would work...
"Now." She was reaching the end of her nerves, and he wasn't helping any.
"Bu' they gonna tuwn to meat!"
Maji twitched. "I DON'T CARE IF THEY ARE ABOUT TO TURN INTO BALONEY, TURN THAT OFF RIGHT NOW!!"
Laial's eyes widened as he immedietly turned the tv off.
Maji smiled. "Good boy. Now, let's go greet our guests, shall we?" She didn't wait for an answer as she picked Laial up off the couch and set him on the floor, leaving him to crawl to the door. She opened the door, only slightly flustered. Shouting must be good for your health... she thought silently as she opened the door. "Hello! Ms. Ourellius, correct? Umm...sorry about earlier. Wasn't really expecting it..."
Laial stared at Vivina with wide eyes. He never saw a mix like her before... he thought as he quickly extended his tentecles, poking, probing, and wrapping her with them.

Et nodded slightly. "Please, just call me Et. And I heard yelling from the inside. Are...you alright?" She glanced over at Laial and smiled. "Well isn't he adorable? I really hope Vivina gets along with him." She looked down at Vivina, who was starting to giggle.
Vivina stared back at Laial, giggling as his tentacles tickled her. "Stop that! It tickuls!" She then started to poke Laial back, still staring at him and wonder what he was. She's never seen anything like him in the animal book she has. She continued to giggle and poke the hard shell.
Et couldn't help but to try and hold back a laugh at Vivina. She pet her head and turned back to Maji. "And your name is...er...actually, I've never caught your name before...Ooh, I feel so bad..." Et flushed and covered her bright red cheeks with her hands since her pale skin emphasized the blushing.
Vivina quickly looked up at Et and tilted her head. She turned to Laial. "Mommy is scary sumtimez." She pointed to Et and made an odd face. "But I still luvs her!"

Maji smiled slightly, a little more at ease. "Yeah, everything's fine." She looked down at hte children to see... "Laial! Let go of her!" She turned to face Et. "I'm sorry, he just does that to new things..."
Laial pouted cutely as he peeled his tentecles off Vivina. "Maji's no baad as Nex. Nex eeefil!"
Maji smiled a little more. "It's Maji. Anyway, ummm..." she paused as she tried to think of something, "Would you like to come in?" she asked as she stepped out of the doorway. "And Laial, Nexen is not evil," she called over her shoulder.
Laial flinched slightly hearing his name. He didn't mean for her to hear...oops.

Et let some of the laugh out. "Hehe...a curious child then. Reminds me of someone back when i was younger..."
Vivina blinked and hugged her Mr. Floppy plush. "Thwee kitties at home are eefil! They dun liek me..." She stuck her tongue out and kicked the air for no particular reason at all.
Et glanced back at Vivina. "Vivi...the cats aren't bad. They're...independant and stubborn." Her right eye twitched a bit. "Maji then. Ok, I'll try to remember that. And sure, it's pointless standing here in front of an open door." She tapped Vivina's shoulder and nudged her indoors.
Vivina stuck her tongue out again and followed Et. She saw Laial flinch before she turned around and then shrugged. She looked around at the room in silence as she has never been here before. She clung to Et's leg and stared with curiosity.

Maji laughed softly. "Well, all the children of D-Corp are...curious." She grinned at the cat description. "Let's see..." she started as she glanced around the room. "That's a bedroom, that's a bathroom, that's a bedroom, that's another bedroom, that's the study, that's the kitchen, that's the door, and this is the living room," she finished.
Laial rolled his eyes, already bored. He turned to Vivina and asked, "So, waddya wanna do? I go' toys in mi room..."

Et nodded as she observed the place. This was quite a nice place to live and was a lot brighter than her own place. She walked over to a couch and took a seat. "Wow...this is a really nice place. It's much brighter than mine. Vivina's eyes are a tad sensitive to light so I keep the lights semi dimmed." She toyed with her hair and continued to observe the living room.
Vivina smiled and spun around. "I dunno. Toys sound fun." She jumped a few times and hugged the bunny plush in her arms.

"Thanks. We moved recently." Maji cocked her head slightly, curious. "Oh? Do you want the lights dimmed then?"
Laial grinned. "Fallow mi den!" he exclaimed as he pulled his body into his shell. With his tentecles, he quickly rolled himself. He was going fast well until...
thump. Laial ran himself into a wall. His tentecles quickly swarmed over the contact spot, and feeling the arrow extruding from the wall, quickly set himself on the right course to his room. he stopped right at the door. A head came out of the shell. "c** ohn, dis is mi room!" He exclaimed before crawling into the room.
Maji's head snapped when she heard the thump, but relaxed when she saw that Laial had just bumped into a wall. "So...would you like something to drink?" she asked Et.

"Really? I'm quite new here also. And no, the lights are fine just as long as they don't dim out and suddenly get bright quickly. It temporarily blinds Vivina for a few minutes before her eyes adjust to the light again." Et cleared some hair from her eyes and nudged Vivina to follow Laial.
Vivina squeed softly and skipped off after Laial, keeping her eyes on him as he rolled. Vivina giggled as Laial ran into the wall and then skipped off after him as he rolled off once again. "I'm cummingh!" She yelled back and spun around once before entering the room.
Et looked over at where the thump came from and sighed as Vivina was alright as well as Laial. "Oh, sure. Some tea or hot water would be nice." She smiled and toyed with her hair once more.

Laial grinned. He looked around his room. "Ees awesome!!!" he exclaimed, his smile widening. To him, it was the best room anyone could ask for. It had a deep-sea theme, and the walls navy with deep-sea animals painted on. The ceiling was a light blue with the carpet being jet black. His bed had cardboard tubes on the side to look the plants that lived deep in sea. His toy chest and closet even looked like they were made of rock. "So, yuu wanna do sumthin specifac?"
"Okay. If you could follow me, the kitchen's this way," Maji started as she walked down the living room. She open a cupboard and looked around. "Green? Black? Orange? What kind would you like?"

Vivina gazed at the room in wonder. She had never seen the ocean, except through picture books. The walls looked as if she were really underwater. "Eet's so preety! My room ees nice also. Eet's green and blue and brown and black and pink...Eet got trees and rocks also!" She smiled and flopped down onto the carpet. She wagged her long tail from side to side and looked at the toy chest. "Um...something funs...liek pretend!" She waved her arms and tail about and walked in circles around Laial. "Look! I'm yuu!" She gave him an hug and went back to spinning around.
Et stood up and followed Maji. She entered the kitchen and stood by the table. "Green tea would be nice, thank you." She smiled and took a seat in a chair.

"Pwetend?" Laial asked. He didn't know that game. He cocked his head and watched her spin around. That was him? It took a little to work it out, but then he relized that you had to act like something. Very well, now what could he act like? He watched her, and it suddenly struck him what she looked like. She looked like a squirrel. Maybe with a few adjustments, but a squirrel none the less. Act like him, would she? Well, then that must mean he shall have to act like her! Or at least a squirrel. He grinned with his new knowledge. "Well den, Ee'm a squiwel!" he exclaimed as he held up his hands to his mouth and made the little clicky noises squirrels made.
Maji nodded and grabbed a tea bag. She stepped off the counter and put some water to boil. "So..." she started as she sat in a chair, "see any good movies recently?" she asked, half joking.

Vivina giggled as she watched Laial make the clicky noises. "Squiwel! I liek squiwels, but I'm a shuugar glidur. I glide liek this!" She climbed up on the toy chest and spread her arms out. The patagiums (the skin membranes attatched to her arms and legs) loosened out and Vivina jumped. She spread out her legs and gently glided around the room. The jump wasn't very high, but enough for a five second gliding example. She landed on her bottom since she hasn't quite worked on her landings. She giggled and got up to pretend to be something else. "Ooh...what am I?" She jumped around everywhere and wiggled her nose often. She used her arms as floppy things ontop of her head. She hopped around the room giggling and waited for Laial to guess.
Et placed her head in her hands. "Hmm...I never seem to have any time to see movies anymore, but I did see a good one recently on TV." She laughed to herself hesitantly. "I think it was called "October Sky". It interested me and reminded me of my younger days. Vivina enjoyed watching it also, but I don't think she knew what was going on." She shifted her legs a bit and sighed.

Laial watched with wide eyes. "Kewl!" he exclaimed with a wide grin. He wished HE could do that...not fair. He frowned with concentration as he watched Vivina hop around and twitch her nose. "Hmmmm..." What could it be? What hops around? He stuck out his toungue slightly as he thought. "A wabbit?" he asked, the first animal coming into his head that came into his head.
"October Sky? Isin't that the movie where the kids try to make a rocket and most of them explode?" Maji asked lazily. She then relized how... strange that sounded and chuckled sheepishly. "I watched it in school, and that's about what I remember of it..."
