Someone needed to be fired.. yes... perhaps he needed to spend some time writing out a letter of vast displeasure. Annoyed acid green eyes studied the stack of magazines that were sitting just outside his dorm room door. It wasn't unusual for the avarice demon to get deliveries of something or another, as he's constantly ordering things or sending out things and magazines tended to be the main constant that usually appeared. And they were meant to be fashion magazines or, nowadays at least, woodworkers guides. But the magazine sitting on top of his latest delivery was anything but his usual. A cluck of the tongue was given before he reached down and yanked the stack inside, closing the door with his foot. Ignoring the romping of his minions for the moment, he set the bundle onto his desk and opened it with a well practiced ease, taking the first mag off the top and looking at it with a raised brow.
He did not, for any sort of reason, play video games and yet... they sent him more of those mags. To set the facts straight, he had nothing against them. They seemed interesting and deep down, some part of him was curious about if they're as fun as they look, but he had too many other projects going and far too many things to think about to even attempt to try. So having them was not only a waste of money but a waste of effort and time. But to throw them out wouldn't be the wisest of ideas either... and he wasn't giving Luka another one to tear apart and leave the bits all over his floor. Oh no, he learned his lesson from that mess.
But what to do with them? After rubbing his chin in contemplation, he separated out the different types and set the gaming mags to one side, his fashion to another, his music books were set in his chair and his crafts tips for idiots in the middle. Hey, Livi couldn't be good at everything. But his eyes kept shifting to the stacks of gaming magazines, a frown tipping his lips. Someone could have better need of such things than himself but... who played...
A sudden remembrance of something he had read on groanspring had him quickly dressed and out of his dorm, the small stack tucked securely under his arm. He knew where they could go and they'd be put to excellent use! It was a very good idea, since they wouldn't just be tossed out. It took a bit to find the right room inside of the monster dorms, but once he had found Ren's room, he took a moment to straighten up before he knocked on his door. This was bound to be interesting... hopefully, Ren wouldn't take offense to him just randomly showing up like this...

Ren had been on the phone all morning in a rather heated argument with his mother:
"Yes."
"No."
"Renaissance, why must you always be so difficult?"
"I don't know. Why do you always have to be so pigheaded, selfish and irritating?"
Needless to say, it was going nowhere. Every word he said seemed to be just thrown back in his face, no matter how strong his argument was. Ren's mother was the type that refused to admit defeat, refused to see any side of a debate but her own, and this was no exception. Amantine had wanted her son to come home to attend a rather lavish and elitist party that was to be held at their house in a few weeks, but Ren, having already declined the offer to come home about six times, found himself sounding like a broken record.
Snapping the skellyphone shut, Ren flopped down into his chair, stretching out tiredly so that he was nearly lying half out of it. The phone dangled loosely from his fingers, and for a few brief seconds Ren debated pelting it at the wall. However, this might be a bad idea, since he also used the phone to communicate with LW, Gabrian, Alessa, and just about every other one of his friends. With a mildly exasperated sigh, Ren tossed the phone lightly onto the bed. He debated on whether or not to go visit one of the three (or all of them, for that matter), just to get his mind off of things, but a knock at the door interrupted his internal musings.
Exhaling slowly, Ren pushed himself to his feet. He had not really realized that his door was actually shut; normally he kept it open almost 24/7, but Rhys must have shut it this time. Suppressing a yawn, Ren reached out with one hand to open the door, the other rifling through his hair.
"Er," said Ren, blinking in surprise, though his expression quickly melted into a warm smile. "Livi," he said. "Hey, how are you? Please, come on in,"
He had not expected to see the demon, of all people. After all, he did not know Livius that well at all, but from what he could see the boil was the pleasant sort. So, stepping to the side to allow the other in, was not something he felt was a bad idea.
"So what brings you to my humble abode?" Ren asked lightly. "It can't possibly be for my radiant, sunshine-y nature and absolutely charming personality."

At first he wasn't sure if he should be where he was. After all, he didn't know the other boil, past the fact he was always with Gabe, LW and Alessa. Other things he knew only by word of mouth or something he overheard. If he was anyone else, he probably would have felt guilty about randomly showing up at another's room, but after he mentally mulled it over for a second, he shoved it away and left it alone. He was there so turning back was just simply not an option. But once the door opened and Ren was there, he smiled gently in return and, after placing a hand on his chest, bowed a bit in respect to him. "I'm good, thank you kindly, good sir. Sorry for my rather... random appearance. Thank you." He entered the room after the invite, making sure he didn't drag anything into the room from his boots. Not that he wasn't sure they weren't pristine, it never hurt to be overly cautious.
Upon fully entering, his eye swept over the space, just to get a feel for the layout of it all. It definitely had some class and the pillows made him mentally grin, as he had his own collection. All in all, the vibe from this place was laid back, comfortable... nice. But the question as to why he was there made his ear twitch and he looked over in his direction and then smirked a bit. "Ah, well... I recall reading on groanspring that you like video games, yes? Well, tis not a hobby I indulge myself in and yet..." Shifting his stack into his hands, he revealed the latest gaming mags to Ren. "These constantly appear outside my dorm room. And as I simply do not wish to toss them out, or let my pets use them as chew fodder, I was wondering if you may have some use of them? No matter what I tell these people they keep arriving and if you could use them instead,it would make me feel a bit better about the mix up. I.. hope that'd be all right?"

The bow Livi gave him was unexpected, but not unpleasant. Ren blinked, momentarily taken aback, but his surprised expression quickly turned into a smile as he stepped back, allowing Livi to enter.
He lifted a brow. "Yes, I do rather enjoy them," he answered, and gaze flitted down to the magazines Livi was offering him. "Oh," he said, and then grinned. "Well, thank you, I would love to have them. I'll make good use of them."
Taking the stack from the demon's hands, Ren carried them over to his desk, where he dumped them in a rather haphazard pile, straightening them and then turning back to Livi. Something about the demon was niggling at Re's brain; something about him. The way Livi carried himself, the way Ren could see him checking his shoes for dirt as he entered the room, the pristine and clean way his clothes were. All evidence of someone who took very good care of himself.
"Say, Livi," Ren asked, reaching up a hand to tap his chin thoughtfully. "You wouldn't be interested in helping me with something, would you?" Something to do with my wardrobe, really. You seem the type who knows what he's doing when it comes to dressing, and I'm afraid I am not particularly good at that sort of thing."

The bow, as far as Livi was concerned, was normal. It was only proper to show respect to anyone, including those of your own age group. It was one of those culture shocks he had learned upon arriving. How could people not be polite to others? It made no sense to him at all. When Ren said he could make use of them, a pleased grin flitted across his lips as he handed them over. "Excellent. I really do hate to waste things so if I receive anymore, I'll be sure to let you have them. As long as it's not any trouble, of course." Most would ask him why he'd give away things he's paid for, or buy things for strangers and all he'd say is why not. So it didn't occur to him that randomly giving away something was odd.
While Ren put the magazines away, he ran a hand through his hair and along his horns, checking the rings there. Meh, his hair was fluffing up again, how annoying. "Hmm?" The rings jingled a bit as his head tilted, wondering how he'd be useful. The compliment from Ren was unexpected but nice indeed. Did people notice? His inner avarice self was vastly pleased. "Sure, I don't mind helping out someone when it comes to fashion!" His eyes scanned Ren's look and a thoughtful look settled there. Though a bit.. haphazard, the gryphon had a good grasp of style. But, giving tips and advice was what he lived for! "Any special occasion or just because?" Part of him wanted to immediately raid his closet but he was behaving. He'd wait til Ren showed him himself.

Ren was beginning to grow increasingly more impressed with Livius. Despite the fact that he was a demon, he was perfectly composed, gentlemanlike, even, with a graceful air and lovely poised mannerisms. It was like a breath of fresh air; where most of the demons (save for a few exceptions) were arrogant and overly confident, to the point where Ren just rolled his eyes at them, Livius brought a very calm and collected air with him. It was really quite pleasant.
"Ah, no, no special occasion," Ren said, waving a hand airily. "I have no special occasions to attend. But see, here's the deal."
Gesturing to one of the plush armchairs that decorated the room, Ren took a seat on the edge of his bed, crossing one leg casually over the other, hands in his lap. "See, I don't get along well with my parents," he said, giving a nod as if to say But that's not really the point here. "Growing up, they always wanted me to dress a certain way, act a certain way, yada yada yada. And I, of course, being the rebellious kid that I was, always dressed the complete opposite of what they did."
This process had gone on for several years as well, until Ren's parents had decided to send him to Amityville and he had leapt at the chance to get away from them. "But since coming here, I'm not...entirely certain how to dress, you know," Ren's fingers flitted a bit, as if struggling to describe just what he meant. "Normal, I guess. I tend to lean towards extremes, since I'm used to it, and I really just walk around in pajama pants constantly. Except my best friend - you know Gabrian - has this issue with that and he keeps trying to tell me not to look like a slob."
"So," Ren said cheerfully, clapping his hands together and giving the avarice demon a somewhat pleading glance. "I think what I'm trying to say is that I could use some advice here, and you seem like the perfect sort to give me that advice. What do you say? You in for showing a poor gryphon the rules of the world when it comes to dressing nicely?"

"Well, a special occasion doesn't always have to mean fancy." A soft, good hearted chuckle left him as he took the seat offered to him, liking the way it felt. So nice and comfortable. He'd definitely give it to Ren, the boil knew how to make his living space comfortable. They seemed to have similar ideas when it came to relaxing in their own personal space. But when the other began to speak, he was paying attention, a brow raising from the parent statement. Odd to start off a conversation with something like that, but he only nodded in complete understanding. Boy did he ever understand what it was like. It was annoying, being forced into something you don't wanna be in.
But he waited and heard him out, nodding at some points but not commenting, though Ren could get the feeling the demon was on the same wave length as him. Finally, he chuckled a a bit and rubbed his chin. "I must say, wandering about in pj bottoms isn't always a bad thing. When I'm in my room, I do the same. It's comfortable and truly, there's nothing wrong or slob-like about that. Now... going outside in pj bottoms is something else altogether and I can understand why Gabrian would say something." Still amused, he rested his chin on top of his hands and seemed to be pondering something to himself. Well he did want another Project to do... and he was being asked for his assistance, which was new and baffling, but something he truly couldn't pass up.
"Sure. I have nothing but time on my hands and helping out others in the fashion department is always a fun thing to do. Least for me anyway." Snickering, he leaned back a bit and fixed his short sleeve a bit. "If you don't mind, can I raid through your closet? It'll give me a better idea of how you are in a sense. But I should say you don't have to worry about me telling you to completely change your attire. It's all about mixing and matching to suit you still. Cause, in the end, if you don't like wearing it, then it's no fun, yeah? Though there will most likely be some shopping trips in your immediate future. You all right with that?"

"This is true," Ren agreed compliantly, and brushed a hand through his hair, shaking his head. "Unless you're my parents," he added, somewhat wryly. "And then every occasion is special and fancy."
It was sheer good fortune that had brought Livius to Ren's room that day; Ren was certain of it. For the most part, he was certainly rather hopeless when it came to attempting to dress...well, his own style. At the current moment his "own style" consisted mainly of pajama pants and sweats; something that made Gabrian shake his head in exasperation. Ren saw no issues with it, but at the same time, he did want to be...a relatively decent dresser, and if that meant swallowing his pride and asking for help, then so be it.
A relieved smile broke out on Ren's face when the demon answered, agreeing to help and he sighed contentedly. "Thank you," he said, grinning at Livi. "I really appreciate it. And I know Gabrian probably does too."
The demon's request made him lift his brows a bit, but Ren gestured to the closet, shaking his head. "By all means, help yourself," he said, then lifted his hands palms up, the clear gesture of I don't know? "Feel free to show me what you mean, etcetera, etcetera. And I'm all right with shopping," Ren added with a laugh. "I'm pretty hopeless here, so anything is up on the table at the moment."
Standing up, he gave an extravagant, overdramatic bow of gratitude. "Direct me, oh Captain!" he said, then grinned cheekily.

"Ah yes, i know the torment. Parents never quite know when to stop, do they?" His voice was one of long suffering, as his mother was the strict type who believed that if women had to suffer to look 'fashionable', so did the men. Sadly, that also meant that he had to wear things no proper man should ever wear but that would never be admitted out loud to anyone. Oh, ever. So he definitely could relate to that suffering.
But the more he thought of this request, the more he rather liked it. Maybe today was meant to be a good day, if something this amusing and entertaining came about. He was shocked that Ren was open to it, mainly since most people tended to put up some resistances, but in the end it gave Livi a sign of relief. And a bit of disappointment. Aww, what a shame. Though it did spare him from having to carry a length of rope about as he had to with his Protoege. That silly undead ghoul, heh. His smile was still in place before he chuckled and waved a hand gently. "You're definitely most welcome. I'm honored that I can help out in some way."
Once he got the okay to raid, he pushed himself to his feet and made his way over. "Good. It makes it easier that you're willing and it makes it more fun." His bow and last comment mae him almost laugh at loud but he refrained, mainly cause he thought it interesting to be called a captain of any sort. "Indeed. Now let's see..." Opening his closet, he began to rummage around, taking out enough pjs and sweats to definitely prove Ren's point about his like of the stuff. Not too bad, if he planned on working out or sleeping all day but for outside things? Not so much... but he did have regular clothing, some he liked, some he pulled out and set aside with a slight look of distaste. "Tell me, have your parents bought you anything you keep in your closet? And past sweats and pjs, are there regular clothing trends you like? Baggy jeans, for example, or button down dress shirts or 'wife beaters' or cargos?" Or did he need to bring over his fashion magazines to have him riffle through? Yes, he'll need to do that as well...
His eyes narrowed in thought, he kept looking though the clset, but Ren could tell he was plotting. Maybe a personal visit to some of his tailor contacts was in order here....
