A red Tent sits in the far corner of the Cirque du Noir, a dim fire light shines from inside and a voice is heard chanting. As you approach, an erie feeling comes over you. You've heard rumors of the ugly crippled old witch that tells fortunes, and how they always curse the patron. You decide to turn away and look around some more when the voice calls you inside. But whats this?
As you slowly enter, you look around. The inside is decorated in shades of Red and Black. The woman who called you in has her back turned. She has a head full of red..or is it orange..hair with a black bow. She turns around and you see that she is no older than 28, with a light complexion and red eyes. She smiles and becons you to sit down. The chair you sit on is nothing more than a simple wooden stool. The table is draped with a red cloth. Across the center is another cloth in teal with moons and stars adorning it. Directly in the center is a red crystal ball, and beside it is a deck of ordinary playing cards.
The woman sits across from you, careful not to wrinkle her red gown, and smiles "Shall I tell your fortune dear?"
Shall I tell your Fortune?

Conchordia entered the tent with weary eyes and a cautious step. Even being in this new, dark circus put her job...and more imporatntly, her soul at risk.
Entering before the fortune teller, she carefully took her seat and spoke only after the woman before her did, gripping her clipboard to her chest as she whispered.
"I want you to tell me about...the future of Cirque du Gothique..."

The redhead chuckled in amusement. "I'm surprised you of all people ventured onto enemy territory. Haven't you heard the rumors of my fortunes? Goodness knows everyone else has." The woman stared into her crystal ball for a moment. "Lets see what my Crystal Ball says..." As she focused, her face almost looked possessed. She chanted a few words in Japanese and ran her hands over the now glowing orb.

Snorting, Conchordia rolled her eyes and adjusted her glasses.
"Care to elaborate on that gibberish you just babbled?"
Maybe coming here was'nt such a fruitful idea after all. But, still, there was something about this side of the playing field that piqued Conchordia's interest...maybe the grass was greener.

"That "Gibberish" is a Japanese chant that activates my power and helps me focus." she hissed, looking up from her ball. "Now do you want to know what I see or not?"

"Hit me with all you got, lady."
She dared, studying her own red-painted nails.

After staring for a few minutes, Ruby looked back up. "I see anger, rioting, and Bloodshed. I advise you to tear down your Circus and rebuild it somewhere far away. If it stays near the Cirque Du Noire everything you hold dear will fall apart." Ruby smiled an evil smile. True her interpretation of what she saw was influenced by her own agenda, but the fact remained, the ball never lied.

He followed the Madame as best as he could. Alexander was a tall man, and must have been a burden for the Madame to drag around. Though, of course, he was far too drunk to even notice the simple things like gravity and the basic laws of physics.
"The entire world is made up of fools and wise men. The wise men are called by others the fools, while the fools call themselves the wise men." He muttered under his breath as he reached for his bed. He had intended to land on the bed completely, but instead, only managed half his body. His knees hit the ground painfully as his legs were far from the mattress.
He knelt there for a moment, with his head face down, slightly suffocating himself. "Madame Ruby, can you do a reading for me? I'm afraid that the future may not have changed as I have wanted." He asked as he pulled himself upright to try again to climb onto the bed. The second round, Alexander took his time, which didn't matter since he did everything rather slowly and stiffly anyways. He finally managed to lay comfortably on his own bed and covered his eyes with an arm.
"Do you remember the young miss that came by earlier? I had told her that the one she loved would leave the village forever. She wanted the man not to go, so she gave me her necklace for payment to change the future." He paused for a moment and reached inside his pockets for it, but remembered what happened afterwards. "I found him, and discovered the best way to keep him with the young miss. I bragged how she had given me her heart. The man asked for proof, and simply showed off the gold charm to him. He punched me and thus, this happened." Alexander waved a hand around to show his injuries.
"He took the necklace and went off somewhere after leaving me more or less like this on the ground. Did I complete my mission? Or should I still be obligated after what happened?" He asked with a wry smile on his face. Alexander couldn't even explain to himself why he went so far to keep the couple together.

Ruby sighed in disapointment as she listened to the story. "Alexander. How many times have I told you. It is not our job to change the future. It is our job to warn people of what might happen or encourage them based on the path they have taken. We see what happens, we can not change it. Trying only messes up what might have and should have been." She stood up and walked over to her table, grabbing her deck of cards. "If the man was destined to follow another path leading him away from his lady love, keeping him back could have disastrous effects." She sat down and shuffled her deck.

His smile only grew wider, even if it was painful for his cheeks to move. "But the lady only asked for the man to stay. He will, and this new disastrous fate is now the miss's." The old addage ran through his head as he sat up right and looked around for something. Be careful for what you wish for...
Alexander quickly grabbed for it before the Madame could take it away from his reaches. He wasn't an alcoholic, not at all. He just enjoyed drinking a lot during the night and day, and kept many bottles in the tent. He uncorked it and took a healthy drink from it. "Madame, it is your job to tell them the future. It is mine to simply mess with the world and it's inhabitants." His wide smile still lingered on his face. If anything, Alexander could boast of this one and only skill of his to truly change the future.

"Ah, but you forget. By helping her, you have thrown yourself into the line of fire, so to speak. You are on misfortunes radar, my friend." She chose to ignore his drinking as she drew three cards and laid them on the table. The first two represented the past and the present. She focused on the third, the future.

The Madame had forgotten her promise of healing Alexander, and he was somewhat relieved. He'd rather remember the night and it's brawl with evidence. "Let misfortune come, for one man's junk is another's treasure." Oh, Alexander was getting drunk all over again, speaking with his half-baked logic.
He undid a few clasps. Too drunk and too lazy to pull off his clothes, he shook out of his robe so it fell off his shoulders and pooled by his waist. Alexander rarely wore multiple layers despite how cold it was outside, especially at night. It may have softened the blows, just a bit, as his torso was now mottled with various shades bruises. Today they were yellow, tomorrow, most likely a hideous purple and black colour. Gingerly, he touched the discoloured skin, wincing as he would clumsily press too hard. Somewhat bored, Alexander now pressed his hands against his face, feeling for black eyes and bruises he couldn't see without a mirror. Painful. He thought to himself as he continued to poke and prod his bruises. "I still think it was all worth it." He said to no one in particular even if the Madame was the only one in the tent. Slowly, Alexander slipped out of his rob and stood up. He walked over to the small wash basin. Grabbing a towel, he cleaned his knuckles and cleaned his wounds. Everything only stung now with the water, but he didn't want scars of his encounter. Just memories.
With a bottle familiarly in his hand and feeling a bit refreshed, he walked over half-naked to the Madame. He never felt uncomfortable even fully naked, but respected the Madame enough not to do so. After all, the mark of his 'servitude' was on the back of his neck, which he easily covered his with somewhat longish hair. Alexander looked over the Madame's shoulder to see the cards and asked, "Who're you reading for?"

t h e C a r d M a s t e r Ruby sighed in frustration as she looked at the third card. Every night she would spend hours trying to get a reading for herself. And every night, every attempt, her future was replaced by the Joker card. It was as if the cards were trying to tell her she was a fool for trying.
She looked up between her attempts to see Alexander walking around half naked. The expression on her face did not change anymore. She was used to him walking around like that now. "It is freezing outside..put some clothes on." She looked back to her cards and tried again as Alexander looked over her shoulder. "These damned cards won't ever tell me my future. They'd rather mock me!" She threw the cards down and turned to face Alexander. "Ready for me to heal those wounds?"

Alexander flexed his nonexistent muscles and joked a bit when the Madame mentioned wearing clothes. "And hide these beauties?" Alexander would most likely be a naturalist with his affinity for stripping randomly if not for his love of creating clothes. However, this time there was a purpose. The chills of the night numbed his wounds and cleared his head enough to stay somewhat sober.
Ignoring the Madame's words of healing, Alexander pushed the three cards to a miniature deck, and flipped it over face down. "Perhaps you are being too specific. Sometimes the cards will tell us things that we haven't asked for at all.." He spread the deck out, and somehow there appeared five cards now instead of three. With a flick of his wrist, he flipped over the first four in a crescendo with a simple overlaying domino effect. With one finger, he angled four of the five cards together. "Seven. Ten. Ace. Three. But upside down, you spell L-O-V-E." He spelt out as though he didn't care to say the word directly. Alexander was sleeveless, yet.. and yet... With flourish, he flipped the last card which revealed itself to be a tarot card, very unlike the standard deck the Madame was using before. "The two of cups. Well, it's quite obvious that you're heading towards a new flowering beginning. I hope I get to meet the lucky gent." He joked again with a wink. Though the fortune did interest him. After all, it was about the Madame and her love life.
It was rare for Alexander to get such a clear and concise interpretation. Perhaps the cold air was doing wonders to him. But then again, he was still drinking the ale in his hands. The perfect balance. He was drunk, yet somber. He was in pain, yet quite fine. He was awake, yet half asleep. Perhaps alcohol could be useful for Alexander after all.
[[Lol.. How are you at two places at once?]] [[We can bring in Crayon here, right? :3]] [[Oh man.. I can't believe Alexander likes to strip now.. XD]]
