(Note: backlog RP) Rorret was bored.
Not regular boredom, either. Not the sort he could brush off with some word games and silent contemplation. No, he was the sort of bored that could get a pup in trouble anywhere -- much less in a pack like this.
The sun had only gone down, and the sky was still tinged with pale hues. Many of the Brothers stirred and set out on their tasks -- searching, as they so often were, for the traitor...for their absent alpha...for their prey. The restless energy of the pack had worn off on the young pup, and he crept away from his den with a desire to explore.
He almost wished Collier had come with him. He was that lonely. The omegas were kind enough, but they hardly substituted for playmates, even for the most astute of young wolves. But, sadly, Collier was sulking, or crying, or sleeping, or whatever it was that he did these days, and Rorret was left to himself in his search to find amusement.

Xihuitl was muddling around the outskirts of the pack lands. Keeping guard and an eye out for any of their returning brother or trespassers. He growled and looked out from under his hood. His green eyes scaning the area for any movment. When he noticed a red tipped tail moving behind a log. Xihu moved quickly keeping low to the ground and then lept over the log to come face to face with one of the new pups.
This ones name was Rorret he thought, one of the more rambuncious of the bunch. Growlnig softly he stood in front of the pup, knowing that he should not be this far away from the den without an adult. "Turn around young brother, it is too dangerous to be out so far from the omegas." Xihuitl pushed the pup with a large paw. He wasn't too fond of the pups, for they were the fruit of the traitor. He didn't trust that they wouldn't take the secrets for their father one day. Glaring under his greenish hood he motioned for the pup to move.

Rorret had never known his father. He was gone from his life, long before he was born, swept away into the shadows. Yet, behind him Rotiart had left a legacy, perhaps without ever meaning to -- pawprints for his elder son to follow in. Rotiart -- Traitor. He had known even before he heard whispers of the traitor's name amongst the Brothers, had figured it all out for himself even before the members of the pack had. Rorret -- Terror. The name his mother had given him, just another clue laid out on his path, another crumb for him.
Bijou had kept the boys at her side just long enough for them to wean, and then dumped them coldly in the world, abandoned for death or for chaos. She had no love for the boys, and could just as easily have consumed them as allowed them safe passage into the pack they now inhabited.
But she hadn't. She'd even tantalized the pups in their infancy with stories. Stories about hooded demons that murder wolves in the night, steal away their pups.
There were still a few in the pack who did not know the secret, however, and Rorret hoped it would stay that way. Secrets were so much more fun when they were kept.
The big blue wolf came abruptly into Rorret's vision, and he halted, staring up curiously at him. He looked like the night sky, he thought -- a cloudy night, but backlit by the moon, cloaked in fabric a few shades darker than the scrap Rorret always carried...the scrap from his father. "I'm not afraid," Rorret said, not quite boldly, but frankly -- staring up at Xihuitl with calm bi-hued eyes. It was true. Rorret had never been afraid of anything in his life. Collier had enough fear for the both of them.
He resisted the larger wolf, though quickly tumbled beneath the strength of his paw. He hurriedly scrambled back to his feet. "I'm not afraid of danger." Danger. Regnad. Like his sister. But she never wanted to play the game with him, and now she was gone from his grasp, but he didn't miss her at all.

Xihuitl growled and glared harshly at the pup, "Very well, then you will stay with me." He said then turned around, knowing the pup would follow him. He was not at all suprised that the pup was so brave, considering his own legacy. The pups of the traitor brought back after their mother had left them. It was sad yes, but none the less too kind of her. Now they could perhaps train these pups to kill their own father. And the other useless sister that the femme bore.
"What ave you learned of scouting yet Rorret?" He asked the wind picking up slightly and carring no scent of new intruders. His cloak whipped around him and his hood blew off. "Tell me what the Omegas have taugh you?" Xihuitl knew that many of his brothers took on the pups to train them and help them in the ways of their pack. It was important for everyone to be trained and ready for anything.

Rorret hesitated just a moment, afraid that he would be turned away -- but then he wasn't, and he smiled, a smile that didn't reach his eyes. Rorret's bi-toned eyes were serious as they locked upon the blue wolf, but his tail gave a slow wag behind him. "Nothing much," he admitted. "The other Brothers, they're busy all the time, looking for someone."
A sly look passed behind his eyes. He knew who they were looking for, certainly, but he would not say it. He would guard his secrets close to his chest, until the other wolf said it first.

He smirked, "I have no doubt that you know who they are looking for". Xihuitl nodded towards a rabbit not too far off. "Think you could catch it?" he asked and looked at the wrapping the pup carried, that would most likely get in the way. The starry wolf didn't say anything, he was going to train the pup and take him on as his apprentice. Maybe he could help him outlive his father.

Rorret's eyes met the big wolf's. This wolf was smart. He liked that. He wondered if he would play his favorite game with him. "I never met him," he said. He started to say more, but decided against it, and instead followed the starry wolf's gaze to a rabbit huddled in the undergrowth. Rorret wondered if he was asleep. Maybe if he snuck up on him, very quietly, he could kill it before it even woke up. Would it have nightmares? Would it see him coming in its dream?
"I think I could," he said, but secretly wished the blue wolf would tell him how to do it. Rorret was a very methodical thinker, one who liked to know exactly how to do something before he actually settled in to do it. He contemplated, eyes narrowed. This hesitation -- this need for conscious thought before action -- would keep him from ever being a great warrior. But it would make him a great strategist, and an even better thief...Nodding to himself, satisfied for the moment, he slowly wrapped his ribbon around his neck, like a collar, securing the ends within the folds. Then he dropped to the ground and crept forward, sneaking up on the rabbit.

Xihuitl watches and sat down behind a tree. Peeking just enough to see if the pup fails. Which he most likely will, a rabbit was fast aronud these parts, not to mention the large ears that could hear a pin drop from ten feet away. Xihuil chuckled, remembering that this was the exact same challenge his mentor gave him before he earned his hood. This pup would be a great warrior if he learned quickly and paied attention. Rorret was smart, but he did hesitate too long for his liking, he had to think quickly and be 6 moves ahead of his prey at all times. If not you would be a disapointment to his brothers.
The starry male wodered what his place was with his brother, Collier if he remember correctly. Xihuitl never had siblings he was found at a young age by the Brotherhood. And he never regreted a single moment of his life. But hnow he wondered if this is what the pup wanted. If he ever dreamed of having a family and a mate. Sighing he watched as the pup drew closer to the rabbit.

Rorret sniffed, inhaling the scent of the rabbit, memorizing the smell. He watched as the rabbit's nose twitched. Its eyes were open and glassy and seemed to stare at nothing. Asleep with its eyes opened? What an odd thought.
Rabbit. Tibbar. Hm.
He was close, close enough that he was faced with a decision -- jump? run? sneak? -- and he hesitated again. He bunched the muscles in his haunches and pounced, leaping forward for the sleeping rabbit, crashing more noisily than he had anticipated into the undergrowth.
The bush tore at him and caught on his ribbon and he growled and jerked himself free. The rabbit was getting away! Dammit! He scrambled back to his paws and chased it.

Xihuitl chuckled and jumped out from behind the bush and ran after Rorret. Keeping a short distance away, the rabbit was getting away, it didn't really matter he would catch them something to eat later. This was simply a training, he wanted to see what the pup could do, and that scarf was in the way. Yet, just like the cape that he would soon wear, it was an obstical.
"Rorrett!" He barked as the rabbit got further away. "Child come back, we will try again later" He said and laughed in good humor. "You did very well, getting close is the first step." He said and pushed his hood off his head and shook out his fur. This pup was going to be tired after exerting himself this much for maybe the first time.

He didn't want to stop, but he did, reluctantly casting a glance over his shoulder. His ribbon hung low, unraveling a bit, and he reflexively wound it around a forepaw, tugging it free of his neck and wrapping his leg in it. He winced, expecting to be punished for letting the rabbit go free.
But...that's not what happened, and he blinked in surprise. "They're very fast," he said, his breathing a little ragged from the chase. He grinned. "You know, my brother thought you were demons. But I always knew better."

Xihuitl laughed, "Demons? We are no such thing. The Brotherhood is a pack like any else." He told him and started walking, decided it was first best to explain the rules and codes of the pack. "We may have ideas and traditions that are special to us but we are not mosters Rorret" He said and picked up teh pup to put him on top of a large rock then jumpng up himself so they could continue to scout the grounds.
"You will learn in time that your fellow pack mates are your brothers, and they would give their lives for you" He said and then thought aboutthis pups father, who turned his back of the pack. It was horrible to think of a brother he had helped with so many hunts and missions to turn away so easily.

"Mother put the idea in his head," he said, following after. He fell limp, reflexively, in the other wolf's hold, and regained his footing atop the rock, shaking himself. A strong independent streak was alive in him, at such a tender age, and he resolved learn to climb and jump and run and hunt on his own soon.
"But mother didn't care for us. She left us alone in a wet log." Mother. Rehtom. Monster. Retsnom. Oddly similar, he thought. "I like it here, better. I'll learn to be the best brother."

"Only do your best, and you shall be" He said firmly believeing that if one tried their hardest then they would be loved and cared for. Even the Omegas he was nice to and always looked after, he wasn't exactly a softie but he didn't let anyone step on anyone else.
"What would you like to learn? I will teach you anything and everything i know" He said and smiled down at the pup with eagerness to pass along his expierence.

All the world was at his paws. He relished the feeling. The best thing that had ever happened to him was being abandoned by his worthless mother. Now he was free to explore his full potential.
He locked an unnervingly intense gaze upon the other wolf. "Teach me to disappear into the shadows, the way the others do," he said. And then, as something of an afterthought, his intensity unwavering, "And teach me how to kill."
