Layren sighed and wondered where in the world his life was heading. As if to mirror his current state the sky flashed with light and dangerously darkened as it threatened to start pouring rain or hit him with lightning bolts. With a glare up at the sky he began walking around some more pondering over… well that was easy. His mind instantly moved back to its current topic for the last few weeks; Thayne. The sunset phim had come out of complete nowhere proclaimed they where mates and hadn’t left since. Even though Layren had yet to say his mind on the matter when ever he even slightly mentioned leaving Thayne would sit on him of all things until Layren relented or change the subject before Layren even got one syllable out. Even worse Layren was some how getting used to the whole crazy idea, suddenly he looked up at the sky and noticed even though a storm had set in it was definitely a few degrees lighter. Layren looked around hesitantly. He just knew Thayne was going to come flying out of no where and tackle him. Mostly because he had waited until the other male had fallen asleep to go out and get a breather. He knew it was rather unsportsmanlike and thayne wouldn’t fall asleep first for ages but he really did have to do something. Mostly get his thoughts in order. Even so the fact he had lost track of time spelt disaster for his back even if he had sworn he had worked it out with Thayne not to flying tackle him.

When the thunder let loose with an almighty crack, Thayne started awake looking around him for Layren. The other Phim was nowhere to be seen. Panic crashed through the sunset colored Phim a he wondered what had happened. Ears flattening, he could only think that Layren was trying to leave him like he always threatened. A determined look crossed the Phims face and he stomped out of the cave to go in search of his errant mate.
Thayne knew that the blue fox had some commitment issues, and Thayne also knew that he was best for Layren. Layren, on the other hand, was being resistant, so Thayne did what any sane mate would do. The sunset Phim made sure to sit on his mate until the urge to leave had passed again. And this was what Thayne was planning to do again.
The sunset Phim finally found his mate and Layren was looking around him guiltily. Good. He should feel guilty, Thayne thought petulantly before relief flooded through him. Layren hadn't gone far...maybe just for a little walk. Thayne wasn't going to chance it. Springing from his position, Thayne nearly flew across the space and tackled the purple and blue Phim to the ground. "Layren! I found you!"

"Not that I was hiding" Layren said with a groan. Mmm it scared him he could guess what Thayne was going to do at certain times. however there was another more important matter to be discussed at the moment.Yep another lesson in stop tackling the Layren was definitely in order. Maybe he could phrase it differently like if Thayne didnt stop he was going to have a crippled dead layren. mmm maybe that would work. "and I said no tackling. You are going to kill me one of these days or injure something important. I wasnt leaving. I swear" this was queue for a slight eye roll.

Thayne remembered his anger at the one under him and he glared at the purple Phim. "I woke up and you were gone!" He said, starting off with an irate growl and ending with a sad tone and watery eyes. "How was I supposed to know. Huh?" He made a little whimper sound and took most of his body off of Layren, still not letting him up though. Layren did say no tackling...but how else was Thayne supposed to stop him? After all, Layren could always fly away. Then Thayne really would kill Layren if he tackled him.
Ears down Thayne mumbled an apology. "If you weren't leaving...what were you doing?" The sunset Phim asked, still keeping his front paws on Layren. His mate was going no where until Thayne got some questions answered. Well...mostly just this question.

"You know you should jump to conclusions so fast. What if I needed to go to the bathroom, or wanted to go swimming, or was hungry. In this case I needed to thinking about some things and I tend to do that while walking around." Layren stated keeping a straight face and refusing to be moved by the sad tone. He wouldnt... wouldnt. Okay so he was failing a bit. " I wasnt leaving I promise. I was just walking about mostly like I said just a few minutes ago. I pace, its a bad habit really." Layren answered and then glared up at the sky as the rain did start to fall down in droves.

Thayne looked at Layren and raised an eyebrow. "If you went to the bathroom, I'd be able to catch your scent or the spot next to me wouldn't have been as cold as it was." Thayne looked up at the lightning streaking across the sky, then back at his mate, "Swimming? I have to admit that, somehow, that thought didn't really occur to me." He humphed.
The expression turned to a pout. "So I jumped past hunting and went to leaving. But...but...if you're gonna hunt, you should wake me up. I can help too." Thayne pointed out. "And I'm sorry I tackled you again. Should I let you pace again?" He asked, nuzzling Layren and silently asking for forgiveness.

"you haven't had the urge to just get up and swim?" Layren asked blinking. "well the point is there are hundreds of things I could be doing other than leaving. "and if I am going out for a light snack its just going to be a rabbit or something. You expend a lot of energy during the day I'm not going to wake you up for just a rabbit" Layren pointed out. "as for the pacing, nah I'm fine. I'll consider moving again when I feel better" Layren stated just letting the rain hit his face. he should probably get up soon since he could drown from this position.

"I'm going to have to admit that, during a lightning storm, I've never had the urge to just get up and swim...no." Thayne replied. "If it's just a rabbit, you can still wake me up and tell me." He grumbled just to grumble as he got up off his mate. Thayne sat and frowned at the ground, wondering what would have happened if Layren had decided to leave and Thayne had thought he had gone hunting. Layren would be gone. The sunset Phim's ears drooped again.

Layren saw Thayne's ears droop again and decided this time he was going to get slightly angry. Did Thayne think he was the type to just steal away in the night. If he was going to leave the other part would definitely know about it and stopping him would be impossible. " I'm not going to steal away in the middle of the night. If I leave you will know about it." Layren said with a fierce look and shook his head slowly getting up from the ground and dusting himself off. "Lets go back inside before a fallen tree branch or something injures us"

Thayne backed away a bit, guiltily. "W-well...if you tell me, and you have, I'll sit on you again. So the only way you could possibly leave is if you leave without me knowing." Thayne said defensively, tail swishing nervously. At the mention of going home, Thayne brightened immeasurably.
"Okay, Layren." He said agreeably, jumping to his feet and bouncing around his mate excitedly. "I'm really, really sorry for tackling on you. Again." The sunset Phim smiled and started back towards the cave.

"I am still not going to slink away in the middle of the night. Only cowards do that" Layren stated shaking his head choosing to ignore the sitting comment. well at least he was apologetic about the whole thing and slightly see through. It wasn't exactly home but it was where they where staying for the time being. Layren waved a paw at the apology. "no need to we all know eventually I am going to get tackled again" he sighed and watched what had to be the fox version of the energizer bunny.

"No sneaking away. I'll tackle you so hard, you wont be able to fly.... Ugh." Thayne, who had been bouncing along happily, suddenly stopped short, gave out a pained whimper, and crumpled where he was. His stomach hurt...a lot. He'd taken the roiling as worry for Layren, but now he just hurt. The sunset Phim curled into a ball and whimpered again. He didn't feel so good....

Layren kept walking ahead a couple of feet before he noticed that Thayne was no longer bouncing along with him. Turing around he noticed the said sun set phim seemed to be on the ground in pain. Now he wasnt so much of an a** that he was just going to let the phim suffer like that so he went to see if maybe he could help at all. "Thayne? Thayne... are you" well that was dumb he wouldnt be whimpering if he was in pain. "whats wrong?"

Thayne groaned. "M-my st-stomach.... I think I ate something...bad...." He said, trying to struggle to his feet. He weaved for about a step before dropping again. Geez, it hurt. A new urge hit him and sent him rolling away from Layren, since he couldn't run as of yet.
Foul smelling hunks of half digested rabbit littered the path they had been on. Thayne whimpered again and looked pitifully up at Layren. "I'm s-s-sorry."

Layren wrinkled up his nose at the smell and looked away less he get tempted to loose half of his already eaten dinner. Well he should wait until Thayne was done loosing his cookies or dry heaving and try to move him back towards the cave. At least then he would be out of the rain. "I'm guessing you probably have a small case of food poisoning or rabbies. there is no foaming at the mouth and convulsing so I am going to go with food poisoning.
