So, I'm getting close to Rank 50 and I wanted to know if it's worth it to Prestige. It doesn't really seem worth it to me, but maybe I don't know what Prestige actually does..? So, is it worth it and what's the point of getting Prestige? Thanks. smile
EDIT: I made this topic when I was Rank 38, and when there was less than a week to Double XP Weekend. I am now Prestige 16; thanks to everyone who gave me tips and opinions on Prestiging. ^_^

In my personal opinion, I think it depends on what type of gamer you are. I, personally, am a hardcore CoD player, so prestiging is worth it for me. And to me, you don't seem like you are gonna like going up the ranks again, but this is just what I am assuming due to the fact that you are just getting close to level 50 and the game has been out for a while.
I think it just depends on how you feel about having to work back up to level 50 and having to get all your pro perks back.
For me, it was no problem. I had a prestige where I really couldn't get s**t at the beginning, but once I hit level 14 and unlock the Famas, things tend to get better for me. And once I am at level 38 and have the Ak47 unlock, it is over. Whenever I get all the things I need, such as Scavenger Pro, Sleight of Hand Pro, Marathon Pro, and of course my silenced Ak47, it is easy to get to level 50 for me.

Well, not to make excuses, but....I just got my PS3 in December, I got the game in January, but just got wireless about two weeks ago. So, I haven't had the option of going online until mid-February. :-/ I only have one pro perk; Warlord Pro, but I don't like that EVERYTHING is re-locked. Maybe I will, but I still have a few more levels to go. And then, I have MW2 to work on...

Like everything else prestige has its pros and cons: Pros: With every prestige you get new stuff, like backgrounds, emblems, custom classes, playlists, facepaints, and even an awesome looking gold cammo for your weapons at prestige 14th. Cons: You loose perks and pro perks, weapons along with attachments and cammos, killstreaks, and credits. You get reset to lvl 1.
I like to prestige, but it depends on you.

Dark Rhi So, I'm getting close to Rank 50 and I wanted to know if it's worth it to Prestige. It doesn't really seem worth it to me, but maybe I don't know what Prestige actually does..? So, is it worth it and what's the point of getting Prestige? Thanks. smile OK. I am now almost Rank 49, and I have decided.......Prestige probably isn't for me. Maybe I will in the future, sometime after I get to max rank in MW2. I just don't like the idea of starting over, for what? Some face paint, gold camo, and a few extra custom class slots? If I do decide to Prestige, it won't be for a while, after I'm confident I can get to max rank in less than a month. Thanks to everyone who posted; and if anyone would like to help me get my Pro perks back if/when I Prestige, feel free to message me for my PSN name. Any help would be appreciated. Any last tips for me or information about Prestige? biggrin

I have to say I think it is worth it.
I'm at rank 46 of my second prestige now, and it's a great sense of satisfaction getting this far.
Also, it doesn't take too long to rank up, unlike MW2, which took ages, so even if you don't like the prestige, it won't take you long to get back to where you want to be. Then you don't have to do it again.

I agree with whoever said it depends on you. I most lik;y will Prestige to the 10th or 11th and be there for a while. I like being represented as a person on my own level and not some high end "supposedly" beastly player.
Honestly I would be a legit 10th, 11th, or even a 12th and I'm only a 3rd right now. I'm not the best, but heck I'm someone you would want on your team. xd
But overall yes you do loss everything, but as said before prestiging to the top is for the high end players. It's your choice to do it or not.

Ultra PrettyKitty1990 I have to say I think it is worth it. I'm at rank 46 of my second prestige now, and it's a great sense of satisfaction getting this far. Also, it doesn't take too long to rank up, unlike MW2, which took ages, so even if you don't like the prestige, it won't take you long to get back to where you want to be. Then you don't have to do it again. smile Well, here's MY personal issue with prestige; it took me FOREVER to get my single Pro perk (Warlord,) and, well, I just don't have the skills to go through everything again. Lame, I know. But, it was hard enough the first time. But I really want the gold camo, and the extra custom class slots never hurt......XD It would be helpful, and I have nothing better to do with the exception of MW2 and several other games. And, considering my lack of Pro perks, I have nothing to lose (except my AK-47..... crying ,) so, I'm thinking I....will? I'll ask my friends on the PSN, too. My major problem is having to unlock everything again, but I've said that enough. At this point, I'll think it over with some TDM and FFA. One more thing....when you start Prestige, while in a lobby, does your rank come up as 50 or back to 1? Thanks. :3
