Von had talked her way into the music room on the fifth floor so she could practice her songs in peace. Not many liked to hang around this floor unless they were artistic in nature thanks to the almost constant presence of the prefects. And so here she let down her guard and played, today's tune was upbeat and energizing. Telling of how excited she was to be at school and her skill was improving which always made her happy.

Pandora was doing her typical wandering, never a person to stay in one place when she had nothing to do. The young girls wandering lead her from the fourth floor to the fifth floor with nothing special to see or tell. That is until she heard the sound of music as she made her way down the hallway. Her curiosity got the better of her and like usual, she went to in investigate. Pan peered in, leaning on the doorway and ready to snap back but she saw her cousin and smiled. She stepped into the room and started clapping lightly. "Love it, Nali!" Pan said cheerfully.

Von was so absorbed in the song she didn't notice her cousin until the song wrapped up and slowly the outside world came into focus and she heard the clapping. She whirled around and reached for her wand until she recognized her cousin. " Oh it's you." She dropped her wand back into her sleeve and leaned on the guitar making sure it had recorded what she'd just played. She'd have liked to listen to it and figure out what needed to be tweaked but instead she leveled Pan with a stare. " So what brings you up here? Getting into trouble again?" She snickered softly more to take her mind off the fact that she'd been heard then to be mean.

Pandora couldn't help but smile at her favourite cousin's defensive nature but was glad to see her stand down. "Yes, it's little old me." Pan replied cheekily with a roll of her eyes and a few more steps into the room. It was nice to see her cousin, It was nice to have someone she knew around. Sure, she had new friends but they had a family bond, no matter how awkward it could get. "Me, get into trouble? I'd rather not have a record a month into the school year." She said with a laugh then continued. "I was just walking around for no reason other then boredom. You know me but I must say it would nice to find you and what a beautiful melody, Nali."

Von raised an eyebrow at Pandora's comment and wondered if she was referring to Von's own record but decided she hadn't been. " Nice to find me? You must have been very bored." Von stared at her cousin for a moment, the two hadn't really ever gotten along before but it seemed having family here with her seemed to help with the home sickness, not to mention the jealousy of those who had parents that loved them. She glanced down at her guitar as if trying to decide something before turning back to Pan. " The song's ok it seems to be lacking something. Care to listen to it with me again? Perhaps between the two of us we'll figure it out.

"Ahh, don't say that cousin, dearest. I certain like seeing you more then one of our other cousins or aunts and uncles." Pandora said happily but knew better then to accompany that nice remark with a hug. Sure, the two of them had their ups and downs but they related better together then anyone else in their family. Most of the family was cold but what where you to do, ask the to be nice? Ha! Pandora smiled widely but then did her best to hid it, Vonali wanted to share, who would have thought. "Of course, Nali! Play away"

Von shrugged in agreement about their family and played through the song once more. " There's something missing, something subtle though and for the life of me I can't figure it out." She drummed her fingers on the wood of the guitar frustrated at her inability to figure out what was missing. After all she was a soloist and as such she shouldn't need any outside help it was her song. She sighed in frustration as well.

Pandora frown slightly as she listen and watched her cousin fingers move, the melody seemed fine, maybe it was beat? She looked around the room for an instrument she could play. In the left was a nice drum kit, something her father had recently gotten her but she could better explain it on the instrument in the back of her room. "Mind if I try and play it out?" She asked Vonali as she dropped her bag and walked to the back of the room. The blonde picked up the violin and bow then poised it on her shoulder, under her chin. She quickly play a few notes to make sure it was tuned. The girl didn't care for the classical violin lessons her mother had forced on her but she still loved to play and that drum set her father was making it up.

Von shrugged in acceptance and waited for Pan to ready her instrument. It seemed talking to Pan had been a good idea the girl seemed to know her way around the music room and might have an idea on what was wrong with the song. " Want me to play it through again only slower so you can catch it?" This was going to be her life, magic and music she could feel it in her bones.

Pandora quietly played through the first few notes of the song but even she knew she was missing a few. She nodded to her cousin, "If you wouldn't mind." She said, then got ready to listen to the song and her gazed locked on Vonali's fingers. Pandora really wanted to help out but she felt it was mostly for her not for her cousin. She loved the feeling when she played what she wanted, not what she was told to.

Von nodded once and closed her eyes. Her right foot moved slowly helping her to slow the piece down as she played. This time it took a bit longer to make it through the song and still Von couldn't figure out what was missing. Every time she played it she got more frustrated these days, but this time she felt progress. " So what do you think? Wanna pick it up or take another round or two slow? Also I think I can transcribe this on paper if you'd like to practice. Or we could meet back up here every so often." A thought was forming in her head and she wasn't totally against it. A band, that was her idea and if she started it she could be as picky as she wanted for the members and she wouldn't have to sing or write lyrics maybe.
