User ImageIt wasn't raining, but it was gloomy. The brightly colored lion felt downright mopey as he walked along under the threatening clouds. Rain, ugh. He did not like it. Although Jicho frequently took baths to care for his lovely fur, rain was just terrible. It was impossible to get dry under clouds, for one thing. And the ground turned to mud and stuck to his sexy blue toes ... yech. No, he did not like rain, not one bit.

Looking for some kind of shelter, Jicho padded towards a tree. It wouldn't really protect him if it decided to rain heavily, but hopefully it would help. It was at times like these that the bright lion wished he had a pride and a den to go to ... thankfully, times like these didn't come around too often.

User ImageA giggle escaped the femme's lips as she splashed from one mud puddle to the next. It might seem odd to most, but Ayida was one of those girls that enjoyed every moment of the wetter days. She knew she was well out of her comfort zone, but the gathering storm clouds were too much for her to resist, especially since her own home was drier than she'd ever thought possible.

How she'd missed the male's bright coat, not even she knew. But before she'd glanced so much as in his direction, the puddle closest to him became her next splashdown and she looked at the grime beneath her paws with a devilish satisfaction.
That is, until her gaze wandered upwards, and she had to blink a few times at the male now but a mere few inches away from her, embarrassment visibly rising.
"Oops."

Jicho had been busy feeling sorry for himself and his beautiful fur, but the giggling caught his attention. He glanced over towards the source of the sound, amused to see a full grown lioness bouncing around playing in mud puddles.

Being very careful of his lovely fur, Jicho had never been one for playing in mud puddles. But he had to admit that the lioness looked pretty cute doing it. She was an interesting combination of black and white ... stark colors, not the bright ones he usually preferred, but attractive all the same. And interestingly enough, she was sprinkled with dots of purple and blue. Purple and blue and black and white and those pretty gold ears ... Jicho forgot all about the gloominess of the day.

He laughed aloud when she splashed down next to him, not even minding the sprinkling of mud and water on his legs. "No worries. It's good to see someone having fun on a miserable day like this," he said cheerfully.

Ayida quickly composed herself, flicking her tail lightly, "Well, it isn't often that I get to see the rain fall heavily... I get a little carried away."

She was easily intoxicated by the male's colors and, had she been the type for it, Ayida would've been rubbing against it in a heartbeat, the bright colors something that always drew her attention and one of the many reasons she would find herself in odd predicaments. But, of course, Ayida was the type to embarrass easily, and she restrained herself appropriately.

"It seems to me..." she added, taking to his idea of being under the tree for shelter if not to get closer to his bold colors, "...you aren't the type to like dirty situations. Especially not with such brilliant hues to clean..."

Jicho would probably have agreed with this female whatever she said. He was an agreeable lion with the ladies, and besides. He kind of wanted to get into her fur. Her stark black and white coat with hints of more exotic colors was very appealing.

Happily, he would not have to fake agreement with the pretty female. He nodded enthusiastically at her last statement. Pretty and smart. This girl totally got him. "No, I don't like dirty situations," Jicho said brightly, beaming at the highly intelligent female. He glanced down at his fur, grinning. "It sounds vain, I know, but I don't like having to scrape dirt off my fur." He glanced at her admiringly. "Dirt would ruin your pattern as well, my lady. Maybe we should head for shelter." He began heading towards the tree, his earlier feelings of gloom completely gone. "My name is Jicho, by the way."

"You've got a point." Her eyes shifted down to her sodden paws and she shook her head lightly, a shiver running down her spine as the taste of mud passed through her memory and she grimaced. She should really pay attention more often and stop getting so carried away...
When he'd introduced himself, she quickly shifted her gaze back to him, "You can call me Ayida." Call it childish, but the femme's thoughts lingered on his name, trying to think of multiple ways to pronounce it and a light bounce to her step, although barely noticeable, seemed to be in-tune with her mind's syllables. She looked to her companion, if not just to adore his fur like an obsessor again, and added softly, "Maybe luck would be on our side and stop the rain before we look like walking earth."

"Ayida," Jicho said, tasting the name. "A pretty name for a pretty lady." He grinned. Okay, so the flattery wasn't very subtle, but whatever. Jicho generally wasn't a very subtle lion. It had been difficult to learn the art of subtlety with his ridiculously bright pelt. He had never bothered.

"I hope so," Jicho said to her comment about the rain, glancing up at the sky. Truthfully, his bad mood had almost left him. He didn't mind being rained on if he had this sweet girl by his side. He looked over at her, smiling. "I guess it doesn't matter, though. You'd still look pretty even covered head to toe in mud," he said teasingly.

Normally oblivious to the most obvious flirts, Ayida was caught off guard with the compliments and looked at the ground, "Well, I wouldn't agree with all that..."
Snapping out of her pause, she nudged him lightly with her shoulder, a soft smirk tugging at her lips, "Besides, I'd much rather the two of us keep the colors we have... I already have a bad sense of direction that makes me hard to find."

Jicho wasn't really sure how well she was responding to his flirting. She seemed a bit confused, but at least she wasn't telling him to go away. Sometimes females could be so touchy. But Ayida was perfectly nice and charming.

He returned the smirk, pleased that this meeting was going so well. "I'm sure I could find you, even if you were covered in mud," he said, grinning. "You're a very distinctive lioness!"

Ayida laughed, "If you only knew... I've been everywhere and anywhere possible just by how lost I can get, and the chances of me crossing your path again is all up to luck."
"But..." She added, her eyes flitting over the lines in his face and fidgeting lightly, "I think it would be fun, to meet you more than once."

Oh hell yeah. He definitely had the old charm working on this female. Jicho smiled brightly, feeling very pleased with himself. He never had understood females that got all cranky about a little flirting, but this Ayida was sensible. He gazed at her, grinning. "I'm a wanderer myself. I don't usually see the same place twice. But ... I agree. It would be fun."

She nodded and looked at the sky, not noticing until that moment that it was starting to clear and she quickly looked back at Jicho, her childish nature peeking through when she spoke, "Look, sunshine! Maybe the Gods like that idea."
Religious or not, Ayida wasn't going to be the one to incur the wrath of anything that could possibly exist above her, not that she'd admit to the fact she was a doubter. And if this interesting lion felt the same way she did, then it would be a lucky coincidence.
But boy, did her heart warm up when he smiled at her.

By now Jicho was thoroughly infatuated with the pretty black and white female, enough so that the prospect of rain didn't bother him at all. Still, it was nice that the sky was starting to clear. He glanced up himself, grinning. Sunshine to let him better see this lovely lioness.

"Maybe the Gods do," Jicho agreed cheerfully. He didn't doubt the existence of Gods himself, having met a Goddess once before. She had fallen for his charms, but they had been just too different ... it was a shame, but he had been forced to let her down gently. "I still would like to spend time with you, even if we don't have to hide from the rain together."

Ayida's eyes lit up, the childish nature she was so terrible at hiding making itself known as her gaze flicked to him, "This time is our time and we might as well use it, right?"
Then, there she was again, drawn in to his colorful- wait, was that mud? Distracted temporarily, she leaned close preparing to lick the stubborn smudge from his mane until she snapped out of it, embarrassment quickly noticeable in her all-too-sudden movement, leaning back as her tongue stuck from her mouth.

Jicho had met many different and er ... interesting ... folk out on the savannah, and he was less surprised than he might have been when she leaned forward to lick his mane. It was a little weird, but there was really no telling what strangers might do. It was harmless, at least. Jicho laughed when she pulled back, amused by both her embarrassment and her silly expression. Impetuously, he leaned forward and licked at her headtuft as well.
