Though I think Rygart and the Queen (Her more than him) have some unresolved feelings.
And I like Zess! But feel bad his brother's lying to him so he thinks this war can be totally avoided when it so can't.
And that king dude! Is SO how I would be as a king ! LOL What would YOU do?

Well yeah I guess The Queen (forgot her name) had feelings for him before he left the academy and ended up marrying the King. I don't think it was a love marriage more of a convenient marriage. Yeah i also think that Zess is being lied too, but I think that other kingdom, Orlandu, has also something up its sleeve.
I would totally be Rygart though, I'd definately defend the king and his family. Though I don't think I would be as nearly as good as Rygart is as a pilot.

As for the marriage of convenience I'd vote yes -> But that the king totally likes Mrs. S (which is what we shall refer to her as , as her name is retardedly hard to remember.)
I dunno who I'd wanna be yet. Not the queen. And not either of the chick pilots in Zess' group. The one is TOTALLY psycho while in her mobile suit. Lee. Blech no likey. Why do all female pilots hafta be flawed? The other one's sweet, but a ditz and only there cause of her family.
The girl who called Rygart's relic a broken blade is my best candidate so far. But I think I'll wait to see if anyone else comes along. I'm only the first episode in.

Yeah, I Don't think the King really digs her though, he really doesn't show any kind of love or that type of emotion towards her.
Not all females are flawed though, you'll see

He'd sacrifice himself/ the rest of the royal family if it weren't for the fact she married in! Her unfair death is the reason why he doesn't just drop his country like a hot potato.
See flashbacks in episode 1. ^.^

Yes! But he's thinking of HER. He understands the whole country/king/responsibility thing.
But she's his personal responsibility from outside the lifestyle. She's his example see! :p

He thinks of her because she is the Queen and friend from the Academy. Though she has feelings for him, it isn't known that he has feelings for her. (though we all know he does as does the King)

Okay here's the deal, I'm going to find the time to watch let's say two more episodes, and then we'll re-visit this angle from my perspective, which as a girl, we can safely assume is different than yours.
Though this raises an interesting question in my mind as to whether story writers USE both male and female perspectives when coming up with characters and plot twists. o.0
Dunno why/how I became so intellectual sounding there.

Dude, Rygart is the odd man out. He doesn't have the ability to manipulate quartz yet he still tries to save his friends. I find that honorable
