It had proved to be an interesting day for Isuke'Boon. She'd had an interesting chat with some rabbit children, had a delicious meal of gazelle that she'd caught herself, and now she'd just been lucky enough to witness two males having a fight. She was hardly aware of what it was they were fighting about, and it really didn't matter. It had been a thrilling fight to watch since they both seemed evenly matched. It didn't hurt that they were both handsome males, not that Isuke'Boon would ever let that overshadow her admiration of a warriors skill.
Still though the one that had won was the most handsome in Isuke'Boon's eyes. As she watched the defeated male limp off to lick his wounds the gears began turning in her mind. She had been thinking lately that she'd like to find a male to father some cubs for her. They would have to be strong, a good warrior, and preferably handsome. This red and black lion seemed to fit the bill. He would giver her beautiful and strong cubs that she could train up to be grand warriors.
"You there." Isuke'Boon called to him as she began to approach him. "That was an exciting fight. You are most skilled."

"Ha." Xennek panted as he watched the other lion limp off. His body was battered, but still thrumming with the energy from the fight. The other lion had been a good fight, but not good enough. He sighed. One of these days he would find an opponent who would give him a real challenge. He was so distracted by the thoughts of the fight that the large lion was rather taken by surprise to hear someone speak. For a second he nearly thought it was another challenge and Xennek jumped to his paws with a low growl. Bring it. Or not. Blinking the lion watched as a female approached him. Had she been watching?
Apparently.
"Thanks?" Xennek sat back down and studied the lioness. She was pretty that was sure. Not to mention his companion wasn't too far ahead of him. There was plenty of time to catch up after all. So talking wouldn't hurt, especially with her. "I never knew a female to say that before." He commented with a small smirk.

Isuke'Boon gave Xennek both a knowing and amused look. "Really? I suppose it doesn't surprise me overly, many of the females I've encountered haven't been much for fighting. Though there are others out there other then I." She paused to consider his wording. "Though if you meant that one had never noticed your skill rather then not finding fighting exciting, then I must insist that the female's you've encountered must surely be blind." She gave him an admiring look and a smile. "Either way, I'm pleased to be the first female you've known to say such things."
Isuke'Boon licked her paw casually, cleaning a bit of blood off from her earlier kill that she had missed. "I am Isuke'Boon. You are called...?" She looked at him, waiting for an answer. So far so good, once she had his name she could work on reeling him in.

Hmm. What an interesting female this was. Xennek found himself leaning towards her and nodding at every statement, "Mostly about the thrill of the fight." He added with a laugh, "I do hope that they didn't miss my skill!" The lion wouldn't deny it, though once or twice he had been considered quite proud when it came to fighting....and several other things. Though he did stop once to actually wonder - where was this female going with this?
"Isuke'Boon." He dipped his head respectfully towards her, "It's a pleasure. My given name is Xennek." Looking back up the lion quietly studied the lioness, waiting, unsure of what it was that she wanted.

"Xennek... that is a good name." His name sounded strong to Isuke'Boon and she enjoyed the way it felt on her tongue. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well Xennek."
After giving him another considering look, Isuke'Boon spoke again. "I suppose you are now wondering if I just came over here to complement your skill hm?" She gave him an amused smile. "I'd surely wonder the same were I in your spot. Well as I found myself over there watching you fight I found myself thinking. 'There. There is a warrior. One of skill. One who is handsome as well. One who'd I'd find worthy to father my cubs.' " She gave him smile and another admiring look for good measure. Then she waited to see his reaction. One could never know what to expect from that kind of statement. She'd never made such a statement before.

The lion couldn't help but to smile at her, she really was good at complimenting. Xennek chuckled, "It's kinda an obvious reaction so yes, I was actually wondering that." Even he, one who was easily distracted by the beauty of a lioness, couldn't help but to notice that this female seemed to radiate determination - she had a reason for talking with him. But what was it exactly?
"Oh?" Xennek couldn't help but to beam at the praise. While Sekayi would have shrugged it off, he couldn't help but to take in her words. "Well thank you! Of course I woul-" Wait. Father? Cubs? Oh there was no way in Hell! "Sorry, Isuke'Boon. You're going to have to find someone else to fill that position. I please, not reproduce."

Things had been going so well. Then Xennek had to be all 'I don't reproduce' on her. No matter. Xennek had pegged Isuke'Boon right when he called her determined and she wasn't willing to back down just yet.
"But surely Xennek, you've been with a female before?" She wouldn't believe a lion like him had never mated before. She circled him a bit, letting her tail brush against him. "Isn't there always a chance of such things?" She settled in front of him again, tail swishing a bit. "Perhaps we should just leave the matter of whether there are cubs after up to the gods?" It was a risky gambit, she might not get pregnant with this approach. All she could hope was that he'd agree to it, and luck was on her side.
"If they decided cubs should be, you don't even have to know if you don't like. I can protect them on my own." She added the last bit for good measure. That could be the part that was really worrying for all she knew.

Xennek just looked at the female, "Ye-yes. But not to reproduce!" He frowned. He knew that sometimes things like that could happen...but surely it would take more than one go with a lioness to produce those things...hopefully. His gut clenched at the thought of having unknown cubs scattered across the roguelands that oddly enough would look like him. Oh gods no.
"Not with me." He repeated finally and stood. The lion couldn't help but to notice the way she circled him and he swallowed against his curse, that urge of his. Sekayi had told him that it would get him in trouble one of these days. But the comment about the cubs made the lion look back at her. "I'm not worried about that." He replied with a soft growl. "I'm not a coward who would just dump my cubs on someone - I just...can't." The lion shook his head. For some reason the thought of cubs just made him freeze.

Instead of deterring Isuke'Boon, Xennek's words just strengthened her resolve. "The fact you are not a coward just makes me sure that I was even more right in my choice." She gave him a pleased look. She could also tell hat she was having some sort of affect on him. Time to change up the game a bit to something more distracting.
"Let's not talk about cubs anymore then. I'm sure you're worked up after your fight, and I'm worked up after watching your fight...." Isuke'Boon's voice took on a purry quality as she spoke. As she continued to circle she brushed up against him a bit with her body rather then just her tail.

Even more right in her choice? Jeesh, she was persistant. Just great. He really should learn to keep his mouth shut and his temper out of some situations - like this one. The lion sighed before shaking his head. "Sorry, ya might want to relook this choice of yours." He took a step away, but froze as she really rubbed up against him.
Oh the gods.
"Wanna fight then?" He offered with a faint hope. Like that was what she wanted from him. The lion's claws dug into the ground, trying to get his body to work for him. For the mind that was screaming warnings at him. Maybe he could shake her off. What if this was just a play? Xennek studied the lioness. She could just be really good at messing with him...
"If you're good enough. Then we'll see." He suddenly stated while looking at her in the eye, "And so catch me." With that the lion started pounding away from her across the savanna. A part of him was finding this a bit hilarious actually - he never had run from a female before after all.

Sadly for Xennek, Isuke'Boon did not secretly looking for a fight, playing, or messing with him. She really truly did want his cubs. The fact that he seemed to want to fight her for the privilege really just fueled her fire more. She actually found herself wondering if the male could get anymore attractive to her.
"I will gladly fight you or chase you if that's what it takes to show you I'm worthy." Isuke'Boon called out her answer to him before springing into action chasing after him. The thrill of the chase and the potential reward of Xennek and possibly bearing his cubs spurred her on and soon she found herself slowly closing the distance between them. Not only was she utterly determined, but she was large for a lioness, taking bigs strides in even her normal gait. On top of that she was in excellent shape from hunting and fighting since she'd been younger.

She really was chasing him. Xennek barely managed to peek over his shoulder before adding on an extra burst of speed. Her determination was touching and he was honestly a bit delighted at the way she just would not give up on him. She's definitely in it for real. He laughed before shaking his head.
Was he really going to let such effort from a lovely lioness like this go to waste?
But what she wanted still made his gut clench. Why him? The thought of cubs that shared his blood made the lion's skin crawl. Wouldn't they just be damned with his restless paws as well? Not like he had much of a choice though. Xennek realized that in his thoughts he had allowed her to get dangerously closer to him than intended. Looked like she might just get her way-
Just as quickly his seriousness faded into that typical playful nature. Not without a good fight though! Xennek grinned. He still had his pride as a warrior after all. Dropping to a stop the lion winked and spun around in the opposite direction. But he was already losing speed, it seemed that the fight from before had worn at him. Not to mention that his heart wasn't in upsetting the lovely one who was chasing him.

Hearing Xennek's laughter made Isuke'Boon realize that he was at least part way enjoying this chase, which was good because she was enjoying it too. Though just when she thought she was in pouncing distance Xennek spun around, winking at her and sped off in the opposite direction. She was surprised by the sudden change in direction almost having to skid to a stop. Her reaction was quick though and she was off after him again. It was her turn to give a delighted laugh, she hadn't wanted it to be over so soon anyway. Besides it just proved further that Xennek was a determined warrior and wouldn't just roll over and give up.
Soon though Isuke'Boon had closed the distance again. She had the benefit of a good meal earlier, and had spent most of the day not exerting the energy she gained from it. Just as she felt she was close enough she sprang into action aiming to pounce on Xennek. She kept her deadly claws in, she didn't want to hurt him after all, and tried to pin him.

Xennek felt the rush of excitement from being chased and a shiver passed down his spine as he realized that she was actually close. She was catching him. The thought made Xennek laugh. He never had been the fastest lion after all. Time to end this. Oh Sekayi would kill him if he saw what Xennek was about to do. But the lion didn't care anymore; he was too busy feeling the adrenaline from the chase humming in his veins.
Catching her pounce just in time, the lion dropped to the ground and rolled over on his back. With a wicked grin Xennek's paws caught at her back at the same time her paws pinned him on the ground. "Guess....I'm caught then. But so are you." He commented with a light chuckle.

To Isuke'Boon's surprise she found herself caught at the same time she had caught Xennek. A look of surprised delight passed over her face at his words and then she gave him yet another pleased chuckle.
"Hmm so it appears we have caught each other. Whatever shall we do..." She spoke to him with a large grin. Bending down a bit she gave his face a bit of a lick. She had a good idea of what it was they were going to do, and she was extremely pleased. It had been why she'd chased him down after all, and hopefully it hadn't just been for the enjoyment of it all, though she was beginning to not care much at the moment. One day she'd tell her children about this day, and likely scar them for life.
