The holidays were over. He had spent the vacation time with Lucien and his family. Lucien had invited him... And now it was over. Lucien was gone.
With how he was reacting, one might almost think that someone had died; that there was no chance he would ever see Lucien again, no way to get around the curfew to sneak out and see his friend. He had tried to keep it under wraps, and generally did a good job of doing so when he was around others. He kept his emotions at bay, hidden behind a smirk or a smile, until he was alone.
Rikard was alone now. He had finished up the game of Magic that he had been playing before tucking his cards away, not in the mood for any more strategy attempts for the evening. He'd already lost more than he'd cared to count and that had soured his mood, putting him right back into the position of being incredibly vulnerable to an onslaught of emotion as he walked back to the Hillworth dormitories.
Without intending to, he had made himself the perfect target as he kicked stray pebbles out of his way, shoulders sagged and eyes on the pavement instead of staying aware of his surroundings... His entire posture seemed like it was begging someone to put him out of his great, stupid misery.

Christmas had been....interesting. Christmas itself was nice but the events after it had driven Demetri Wright completely off the map as Scheelite went into hiding. He felt lonely, abandoned, and most of the time he just spent curled up in some abandoned place and moped.
Occasionally he ventured out, like tonight. Tonight the blonde had decided that stretching his legs was a good thing, and maybe he could do some Negaverse work along the way. He wasn't...too interested in working, but he wasn't going to say no to an opportunity.
Opportunity presented itself in the sulking form of Rikard. Scheelite hadn't noticed him at first, but when a stray pebbled bounced into the alley he had just jumped down into it definitely caught his attention. Head raised, acid eyes watched as Rikard passed by the alley and kept going.
Huh...
"What's up with you? You look like someone just shot your dog or something." The voice preceded it's owner, who slowly stepped from the alley to fall into step behind Rikard.
"Don't worry, not interested in torturing you or whatever it is the news says we do..just curious." He knew Rikard. Especially since Rikard had been at Cordy's house for the holidays. Friends with Lucien, right? Scheelite tilted his head, watching curiously. Last he had seen Rikard he hadn't been so down in the dumps.
What the hell happened?

He had been a little bit off throughout the holidays; not to the extent that he was at now, but even then something hadn't been completely gravy. It was a good thing, though, that no one had really managed to pick up on it. Maybe that had been because, outside of family time, he'd mainly stuck to himself when Luc and Cordelia had gone out to do whatever it is they'd done during the shopping season.
"I don't have a dog." Was his first response; not likely the greatest, given the situation, but it was the only thing to come out of his mouth before the 'not interested in torturing you' settled into his brain.
"I also think I do a good enough job torturing myself. Currently trying to work the pensive and brooding angle, which is a little hard to do when you're not alone." The sound of a slight smirk was carried on over into his voice, eyes still remaining dark despite the expression as he turned to glance over his shoulder. "You're one of those terrorists?"

"Then you look like someone bought you a dog, then shot it in front of you. Seriously dude you look like s**t."
Blunt as always, Scheelite strolled forward until he was mere feet away. When Rikard glanced back over his shoulder, Schee simply tilted his head and continued to watch him.
"-Not- a terrorist." He corrected, "someone looking to fight and free the world. Amazingly enough we're normal people, just like you. Heh, actually...you know me. You'd never guess it, but you do know me. So Riky dude, why you out here torturing yourself?"

"Alright. Not a terrorist. What the hell does that make you, then? A superhero?" Not likely, dressed like that. What kind of self-respecting superhero would actually want to draw that much attention to themselves.
Somewhere in Rikard Colby's head there was a small voice telling him that it would be wise to stop asking questions there. Anyone knew that if you asked too many questions of strange people you became a liability... And in this part of town, given all of the strange things that had been going on, he might just disappear.
Would that really be so bad of an idea?
The thought was upon him before he could shake it, erasing any traces of snark or smirk from his face in favor of sorrow, loss and abandonment.
"I don't want to know how you know me; how you know my name... Or how I know you. I just want to be left alone, alright?" It was a poor lie and the slight hitch in his voice at the end would have given him away even if his body language hadn't. "Everyone always leaves me alone..."

"Already told you, saving the world. You wanna call me a superhero that's your thing, but I sadly have no cape. Want one though, totally requesting one, but noooo cape yet."
Scheelite was picking up heavily on the whole sense of abandonment. Not just because Rik had actually voiced it there, but just his whole demeanor. It was something Schee himself was going through, and though it was likely very hypocritical of him he was going to talk this boy out of his depression if it took him all damn night.
"Well -duh- people leave you, I mean look you just told me to go away! Then you say people leave you alone...just duuuuh. By the way I'm not leaving, I'm not that easy to get rid of, and I totally bet you really -do- want to know how I know you you're just being too damn stubborn to ask."
The blonde stalked forward, circled around front of Rikard and stood right there to force Rik to face him.
"Trust me, I get the whole feeling abandoned thing more than you'll ever understand. It sucks, hell I've been depressed as hell lately. I have no family, no birth family at least, but I do have another family that takes care of me more than the birth one ever did. One that anyone can join, and one where you never have to be alone again."

For all that everything that the blonde was saying screamed either 'psychotic' or 'lost boys', he was too busy buying into it to turn it away. He liked the idea of never being left behind again; of being a part of something that would make it so he would never have to be alone... Never feel this bad again.
Rik was so tempted to shake it all off as a joke, though. This sort of s**t didn't happen to normal people. Strange boys in glowing jackets didn't come out of nowhere to insist that they knew you only to make you offers... There was just something so incredibly ******** up about the entire situation.
Really, Rik... What have you got to lose?
"My life..." He muttered beneath his breath, eyes narrowing as his hands balled into fists in an attempt to steel his resolve. "Alright. So what do I have to do? Sell my soul? Are you going to offer me a fiddle of gold? Or is this the wrong kind of deal? Going to let you know right now, I don't go down on people at all, let alone in alleyways..."

"I don't take souls, there's no way in hell you can have my golden guitar on Guitar Hero, ...what kind of deal is wrong huh? And...what do you mean by going down on people?..."
Yes, Scheelite was a bit stupid at times, and yes Scheelite didn't have enough control to keep thoughts to himself that might prove he's a bit stupid. The blonde look perplexed for a moment before shaking it away.
"You just have to do work in return, and be ready to do whatever you Queen asks of you. Mostly, she wants us to fight those damned Senshi in their damn skirts and get them off our planet. Trust me, the will to do that will come all on it's own soon enough. They're annoying as hell."

"..." The odd blonde boy was met with a blank stare and, for a moment, a gaping jaw. He tried extremely hard to form words, lips parting and then closing almost as if he were doing his very best fish imitation. It ended with one of his best 'what the <********>' faces, momentarily forgetting everything they'd just been talking about.
At that moment, Rikard turned his back to the other boy, slowly glancing around to see whether or not his body was just lying on the ground somewhere and he was having some sort of experience... Some horrible, horrible dream. Why else would he be here talking to someone like this? About things like this?
"This is insane... Just so you know." He muttered as he turned back to odd one, almost expecting him to have disappeared. "Absolutely insane." As he said that Rikard began to pace, seemingly weighing the pros and cons of being yanked into some sort of cosmic (haha, if only he knew) game. Could he do this? Could he follow someone to what was either a great, big joke or his possible demise?
What do you have to lose, Rik?
"******** it. Alright. I'm in." Rikard Colby did not back down from a challenge. Let those be the last words anyone ever said about him...

"Captain Scheelite!" The raver looking boy held out a spiked glove to shake with Rik. ..And if Rik didn't reach to shake with him he'd find his hand grabbed and shook anyway. Schee didn't really know the meaning of 'no'.
"Insane, maybe! But it's awesome and you'll love it and you'll always belong. That in itself is great!" Rik was likely learning very quickly that this Captain Scheelite fellow sure liked to talk. And ramble. And talk really damn fast.
"Soooo, I can't give you the power to fight for the Earth on my own, buuuut I do know someone who can! Soooo, we're off to see the General King!" And now he was bursting into song. Oh dear Rik, what -have- you signed yourself up for?

Rik was slowly beginning to wonder who had spiked his drink while he'd been out. Someone had to have done something to set him up for this crazy s**t... But he had gone ahead and agreed to it already. There was no backing down; not without being called out and he certainly wasn't about to let this... Bright individual... Be the one to call him out for backing down.
No. Way. In. Hell.
"You've got me. Reeled me in. Whatever the hell. I'll follow you wherever it is that we're going on one condition." There was always a catch. "Knock the Wizard of Oz s**t off, alright? I don't do ruby slippers."

"Awww come on, singing's the best! But fineeee, ruin my fun."
Scheelite grinned at him a moment, getting a firm grip on the other's shoulder. "Now, hold on, cause this is going to feel totally weird but totally awesome at the same time!"
Then they were gone.
The feeling of teleporting was nothing new to Scheelite, but probably very jarring to Rikard. It felt like being neither here, nor there. A sudden YANK and then your body and thoughts were ripped in a direction and there was no end in sight...
Until but a second later when they popped back into existence in the Negaverse subspace. Panting slightly, Scheelite moved his hand to grab a better hold of Rikard and tug him down one of the halls.
"cmon! Someone's got to be here that can help!"

In the blink of an eye Rik had been blown out of Oz and sucked right down the rabbit hole. His stomach heaved even as he was tugged forward and, for a moment, he was almost certain that he was going to be sick. You lose.
"What the <********>? Where in the <********>...?" Questions. So many questions all fighting their way to the front of his mine, to the tip of his tongue. His voice seemed so loud in the dark halls, yet at the same time it was almost as though it were nothing at all; completely insignificant compared to whatever it was, wherever they now were.
"You're crazy. This is... This is crazy. Where am I? Where did you take me?"
Clearly, these were all questions he should have thought to ask before.

"Captain. What do you think you are doing?" Marthozite had never once seen a civilian amongst those walking the hallowed halls of the Negaverse subspace and before this spiky-haired individual, had never thought any would be so stupid. His voice was as deep as the darkness surrounding them all and as incredulous as it was angry.
Without even asking who the young man was, what he could possibly be doing here, and what purpose either of them had a hand shot out and into the silver-haired young man's chest. "It does not matter now. His life is bound to ours. He will be strong enough or he will die for our glory."
It was a horrible, terrible, practical solution to anyone where they should not have been. It would also be incredibly painful for Rik instead of the gentle carrying over to the Negaverse that Marthozite preferred. There was a way to slowly feed them the energy and coax them into accepting it. At the first rank, they had to be made to feel welcome and safe.
This was none of that. Corruption was thrust into the cracks of the teenage boy's star seed and consumed it. Had a general tried this they would have ended up with a rather interesting youma. Thankfully he was not a general.
"Welcome to the Dark Kingdom, Lieutenant." That done and hand withdrawn, eyes turned to Scheelite and narrowed down into a glare. "In the future Captain, if you wish the attention of your superiors we are but a call away on your communicator. It is not wise to let simply any soul into our base."
And he was gone. Well. Marth had never really been much of a talker.

He was going to explain! Really! He wasn't insane, THIS wasn't insane! It was a beautiful thing, a place to belong and a place to really make a difference in the world. His mouth was open, his hand raised to point dramatically as he explained.
Then Marth showed up and completely ruined his super amazing dramatic explanation. He opened his mouth again to explain, but Marth was so quick and ruthless with his actions he really didn't have a chance. Seeing a corruption in front of him unnerved him slightly. Oh how he remembered that, and how much it hurt...
And how much he had fought against it..
The blonde shook his head, coming back to the present just in time to hear Marth's final statement and walk off. "But..I was bringing him here to recruit him! I thought I was doing a good job! ..Erf....yes Mister General King, sorry!..."
Damnit.
Looking sheepish as hell, Schee turned back to the newest recruit and offered him a hand. He...was likely going to need it.
