Kathryn was in her bedroom looking through her closet, humming quietly to herself. Tonight she wasn't patrolling- tonight she was on a mission to dress as a Negaverse agent and cause some mayhem. While she had no intention of really hurting anyone, she did have every intention of causing a ruckus. But what could she wear? She thought back to previous Negaverse encounters and realized that unlike the Senshi who all wore some sort of bodice and tiara, the Negaverse really didn't have much of a structure to their uniforms. She shrugged to herself and pulled a few things out of her closet. She figured she'd go with a colored theme- Black with muted green accents (think camo).
Earlier that night she had decided that she wouldn't henshin under her Nega-costume, because the tiara on her forehead would have been all too noticeable. She quickly put her costume on and stuffed her henshin pen in her pocket, admiring herself in the mirror. She pulled a hood up to shadow her eyes and took off out of her apartment. She figured that downtown would be a good a place as any, and she whipped out a can of spray paint. She looked back and forth quickly, eyeing a camera nearby. Perfect. She shook the can, that familiar spray paint clickclickclick ringing through the air, and she sprayed the word "NEGAVERSE" in bright red paint across the wall of a popular downtown store.
She took a step back and admired her work.

Tanzanite was really beginning to hate this whole 'doing s**t in the name of the Negaverse' track down which the senshi seemed to have turned. First it had been Gunn getting the police on their asses, to which the Negaverse had responded by slaughtering a pair of news anchors and issuing a public warning that any further interference would not be taken out on the senshi, but on the citizens of Destiny City that they claimed to be protecting.
It was a warning that Tanzanite would follow through on that night as a young man's body was dropped from the building's rooftop, a two story fall bringing it to Leto's feet with a sickening squelch of flesh and bone hitting the pavement. The General followed, armored boots hitting the ground as she fell into a crouch just a few feet in front of Kathryn.
Odd, this one didn't have the energy signature of a henshined senshi. Had civilians bought into the senshi's propaganda and lies and begun acting against them, too? The very idea was infuriating. However, more importantly, the young woman was most certainly not an agent of the Negaverse.
“Tsk,” the General clicked her tongue, the sound thick with disappointment and irritation, “You can paint over it before I break that hand, or you can not paint over it and I will use your blood to cover it up. I don't particularly care which.”

Apparently Kat missed the memo of the Negaverse taking it out on citizens. Her eyes widened and her right hand immediately clamped over her mouth to stifle a scream as a body to the ground in front of her with a rather loud splat. She closed her eyes for a second to compose herself, trying desperately not to vomit at the sound and sight of it. “Oh god….” she choked quietly as she stared helplessly at the body at her feet. And then a woman dropped to the ground as well- this one decked out in armor and clearly the cause of the man before her. Oh s**t.
Kat did nothing but stare wide-eyed at the woman in front of her. Her heart began to race, the sound of it drumming loudly in her ears. Her immediate instinct was to take a step back, her hands deep in her pockets searching for her henshin pen. If she henshined here and now, this woman would know who she was; if she didn’t, she had a much higher risk of getting her a** completely handed to her. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place. She swallowed hard, took a deep breath and smirked at the woman. New plan.
“Well that seems pretty ridiculous- breaking the hand of a fellow team member.” Kat was fully aware of the fact that this may not work- but she sure as hell had to try.

“I've done worse to... fellow team members,” Tanzanite smiled, and her long legs carried her in a slow circle around the girl. A predator circling it's prey, not yet certain where or when she wanted to strike. What kind of girl dressed up as a member of the Negaverse.
“Your energy signature says otherwise,” Tanzanite did not miss a beat as she responded. It was almost impossible to fake being a member of either faction, with both having energy signatures that gave them away fairly easily. With Tanzanite's experience reading those energy signatures, it was impossible to hide, “I know every name and face in the Negaverse. Not to mention...” She eyed the graffiti, “We paint our warnings in blood, not paint.”
Black claws scarred the brick as Tanzanite drug her hand across the words, leaving deep gouges that struck through that familiar name.
“Now why would a teenage girl be out at night dressed up as a Negaverse officer...?"

Kat frowned when Tanzanite had mentioned that she has done worse to team members- clearly she was lucky enough to be a part of a team that would never even think of doing such things to each other. She tried to keep her breathing steady as the woman began to circle her, as if she were a shark getting ready to attack.
Sonovabitch was the thought that immediately ran screaming through her head. No s**t there was no energy signature- and she should've known better. Clearly her genius plan wasn't quite genius enough, and clearly she wasn't dealing with a dumbass. If only she had ran into one of the Negaverse's less intelligent officers... New plan failed.
As Tanzanite drug her claws across the bricks, Kat took a few steps back. She quickly looked both ways to try and think of some sort of plan of action. The tips of her fingers fiddled with her henshin pen in her coat pocket as she forced a big, cheesy smile on her face.
"Considering someone on your side has been carving a Senshi's name into the chests of innocent, slaughtered people you seem awfully surprised that someone would try to slander your faction's name as well." She held her breath after she made her comment, her hand gripping tightly around her pen. She figured she wouldn't get away with back-talking for very long.

Tanzanite's eyes rolled skyward, a rare display of attitude from the often frigid woman. There had been a time when Charonite had been hard pressed to get Aree Cadence to keep her damn mouth shut, but such days were long, long gone. It was rare now to see the woman smile in a way that was not malicious. She lived for the fight that this girl condemned her tactics in.
“Correction,” she said flatly, “I carved Sailor Ares name into the bodies of humans lucky enough to be martyred for our cause. Their lives now serve a much higher purpose.”
Some might question just who Tanzanite was to be deciding the fate of those innocent people, but Tanzanite seemed unwaveringly certain of her own righteousness. There was no doubt in her voice as she spoke, as casually as if she were speaking of the weather and not of undeserved death sentences.
“I don't doubt that you think you have reason to slander Earth's only defense, sympathizer,” the General suddenly appeared behind Leto, and black claws stretched out in an attempt to grab her by the back of the neck ,”I just didn't expect that anyone would be stupid enough to actually do it.”

Kat narrowed her eyes at the mention of Ares, and that this freaky woman was the one behind it all. "I am fully aware of the name you carve into them." she muttered quietly. "And who the ******** are you to decide who lives and who dies for your so-called cause?"
Kat squealed as she took another step back and bumped right into Tanzanite. Tanzanite's claws grazed the back of her neck and she quickly turned and shoved herself against the brick wall, whipping out her henshin pen in one fluid movement. "Earth's only defence?" she flat out laughed in Tanzanite's face. "Who the ******** are you trying to kid?"
She knew damn well that running wouldn't get her very far when the Negaverse could teleport. And with that, Kat did the only thing she could do. "Leto Power, Make-up!" she shouted, a rather snarky grin upon her face as she did so. The second her transformation into Sailor Leto was done, she dropped to the ground and kicked her right foot out in an attempt to sweep Tanzanite off of her feet.

Ares had done a piss poor job of preparing her recruits, or so it had seemed. Within minutes, the girl had broken almost every rule of safety that Ares had issue to her recruits. Never face her alone, the same warning Lyra had ignored. The same warning Gunn had ignored. The same warning Sailor Requiem had ignored when she rushed to the defense of her parents, and had been lucky to leave with her life.
“Who am I?” Tanzanite smiled, a faint curl of her pale lips that was nothing if not cruel, “I've been called a lot of things.”
It took only the blink of an eye for Tanzanite to appear behind Leto, black claws curling around the back of the senshi's neck.
“Murderer.”
Her body was hurled by that black arm, but did not have time to hit the wall before another teleport allowed the General to deliver a swift kick to send her back in the other direction.
“b***h.”
Leto would not have time to get to her feet before the General was upon her again, hurling her forward. The world would blur and crack, as the senshi's body collided with the plate glass of a shop window.
“Monster.”
Only when Leto had finished sliding across the floor would Tanzanite climb through the window after her, her tall frame silhouetted by the streetlamp outside.
“But you can call me General Tanzanite.

Leto gasped in surprise as the long black claws wrapped around her neck from behind. Before she had a chance to reach up and grab at the claws, she was being hurled through the air a wall. She braced herself for what she figured would be a quick thud and a drop to the ground, and instead was met with Tanzanite's boot. She sucked in sharply as the air was knocked out of her from the kick to the gut, and Leto dropped to the ground.
Leto braced herself and desperately tried to push herself back up to her feet, but Tanzanite was far too fast for the Sailor Senshi. Before she knew it, the taller woman was grabbing at her again and she was flying through the air. And then suddenly, all Leto could feel was shards of glass cutting through her bare skin; her ears filled with the sound of shattering glass and her own scream as she went through the window. Her body tumbled to the ground and rolled a few feet before skidding to a stop. Leto hunched over, and clung to herself for a brief moment as she forced herself to her feet. Her right hand raised to wipe the blood that had pooled at the side of her lip. She half-smiled at the woman coming towards her through the window.
"So you're the b***h our entire faction keeps talking about..." she muttered and spat to her side. She stumbled backwards a few steps. "Leto Camouflage Illusion!" she said through clenched teeth, and the senshi was gone. Sorta. Realistically, only low level opponents like Lieutenants and youma would be unable to see her- but hell if Leto actually knew that. She figured that if she was camouflaged to one person she'd be camouflaged to everyone, right? She made her way behind a counter as fast as she possibly could and sat with her back to it, eyes closed.

“Gossip,” Tanzanite sighed, and it was obvious by her tone that she truly detested the concept, “Is an unflattering habit. Though I would expect little more from the likes of senshi.”
Tanzanite watched, and what she saw was a slightly faded but still quite visible Sailor Leto running for the counter. One brow was smoothly arched, the General crossing her arms over her body as though amused by the sight. It never ceased to amuse her how the senshi would fight even when terribly outmatched. It would have been admirable, were they not using that power and tenacity to carry out the will of a long lost Princess and her tyrannical wishes.
“Sailor Ares should have told you,” the General smiled, and in the blink of an eye she was perched upon the countertop just above Leto, a gargoyle staring down at the top of Leto's head. That black hand reached down, claws digging into Leto's shoulder as those teeth bore down until they hit the bone. If she was able to grab her, Tanzanite would pull the girl up and practically hurl her back across the small convenience store, her body colliding with a the magazine racks.
“You can't run. You can't hide. And you?” Tanzanite laughed, “You can't even fight.”

Sailor Leto let out a loud, guttural scream as Tanzanite's arm grasped her shoulder, it's claws and teeth digging deep into her flesh and bone. Tears immediately sprung to her eyes and she choked, trying to desperately gasp for air. And then she was completely visible and, for the second time tonight, she was being thrown. Her body slammed into the magazine rack and dropped limply to the ground. Leto was sobbing uncontrollably now, coughing as she took sharp, quick breaths. Her eyes were clenched and her left hand reached to her right shoulder, clamping her gloved hand over the wound to try and stop the bleeding.
She was very obviously whimpering now, her entire body shuddering in pain with every breath she took. Leto slowly opened her eyes and starred at the woman that was perched on the countertop. "I can fight..." she choked out quietly. "I can fight!" she screamed at Tanzanite. And then everything went black; Tanzanite leaving Leto there as a message to the BMC.
